> The Pony Ta > by n > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Chapter 1 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ta was a stallion with a flaming mane and tail. His special talent, as many may have guessed was fire. His flaming spirit led him on many adventures in the Everfree Forest. Twilight Sparkle was on a cliff and getting angrier by the second. She just couldn’t understand Pinkie Pie. For all her magic and science and rationalization, nothing could make sense of Pinkie. She could feel the energy building up, and she had to let it out. The magical outburst left her flaming in the air for a few brief moments. Ta was amazed to find another pony just like him. But to his disappointment, the flame died down. Still, he was intrigued, the fires of passion burning to a new high. He had to know who the hot mare was. So he followed her, back into Ponyville. Of course, when he got to Ponyville, he was meet with many strange looks. Very few ponies had elemental manes. It was almost as rare as alicorns. Nonetheless, he didn’t really care. All that occupied his mind was the mare he had seen. Twilight Sparkle could see the flaming stallion. Her eyes lit up. He would make a great test subject. But first she needed to set up some protection against fire. The whole library was a fire hazard waiting for just one spark. As she finished with the complex enchantments, making sure to cover everything by first making a gigantic checklist, she saw Pinkie Pie confront the stallion. Ta was surprised to find a fluffy ball of pink in front of his face. It seemed to be smiling and expanding. Since the pink ball had been brave enough to confront him, Ta decided that he would let her be. Her display of courage was admirable after all. To his surprise, it gasped and then disappeared. That was quite random. Then he put the event past him, and started toward the tree, where instinct guided him. He would have to be careful though, since the tree was likely to catch on fire if he made any mistakes. Twilight Sparkle could see Ta was coming toward the tree, and decided that she would have to get him before the big surprise party of Pinkie’s. So, she opened the door and walked out. Ta could see that the door embedded in the tree was beginning to open. And then he saw her, the mare that he had become so interested in since his first encounter in the Everfree forest. He stopped breathing when her eyes met his, and he blindly obeyed as she gestured for him to come inside the tree. When Twilight Sparkle closed the door, she let out a sigh of relief. Now, she would have at least an hour before Pinkie Pie could do anything. “Please be my lab specimen” Twilight Sparkle looked at the stallion with the cutest look she could muster (puppy dog eyes). Ta was slightly confused. He thought the mare was going to say something a bit more, well, personal. As usual, he could not fathom the minds of mares. He acquiesced however, in hopes that he could get closer to the mare. Up close, she looked even sexier. In a flash, Ta found himself bound to a chair with a helmet on and various wires attached. It seemed liked he was in a bad science fiction movie in the process of some conversion or interrogation process. Nonetheless, he contented himself to wait a bit more. Then the humming began, and he saw that the mare was sitting across from him, taking copious amounts of notes. “I’m Twilight Sparkle.” Twilight Sparkle could feel a little hot. She wondered why she had blurted out that tidbit so suddenly. Of course, she should’ve introduced herself earlier. However, the way she did it left her feeling a little silly. Ta could see that Twilight Sparkle was blushing a little, and knew that he had made the right decision. Before he could progress any further, he saw a pink ball appear. “That’s no way to treat a newcomer, Twilight Sparkle” “Pinkie!” Twilight was shocked at how quickly Pinkie had found out. She could have sworn that... Twilight sighed inwardly. She should’ve known that Pinkie would’ve intervened. “Nice to meet you Pinkie, my name is Ta” Ta decided to introduce himself. Whoever the pink mare was, she seemed to be close to Twilight Sparkle, and it didn’t seem like it would hurt to become friends with those close to whom he thought was soon to be his wife. A moment later, Ta found a bunch of streamers in his face. “Welcome to Ponyville Ta” And Ta saw a bunch of ponies appear as if out of nowhere. “It’s your welcome to Ponyville party” And the music started, and the ponies started dancing. Ta wasn’t sure if this was the time, but he asked Twilight to dance with him anyway. To his pleasant surprise, she accepted. As the party died down, Twilight Sparkle left to start cleaning. Ta decided to wait, and ask Twilight Sparkle where he could stay. He didn’t feel like camping in the Everfree Forest as he usually did. When Twilight Sparkle came back, Ta asked the question. “You can stay here” said Twilight with a slight blush. “I hope you won’t mind the foals I’m babysitting though.” “Not at all” The day was passing, but the foals had arrived before it evening started. That night, a lot of magic happened, including choice rolls from a psuedo random number generator. In the morning, Twilight Sparkle was shocked to find that she had laid an egg. In all her life, she had never expected to have an egg, of all things. She froze up, and twitched. Ta woke up to the pleasantly flaming mare. To him anyway. And out of the egg hatched a wonderful fire elemental pony. Ta named the foal Ta, after himself. They lived a somewhat turbulent life happily ever after. So Ta found his happiness, and Twilight, a very special (not to mention rare) test subject.
