Lienia was born in a Pony Colony in Cervidas to a Pegasus couple, as a unicorn oddly enough. After being sent away to Equestira when a war broke between twin heirs, losing her parents, and spending five years in Cantorlot, she has settled in Ponyville. About ten years later, Twilight Sparkle has come and moved into the Library, become friends with her adoptive sister Rarity, her friends Fluttershy and Applejack, and her acquaintances Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash, Lienia's peaceful little home village has been turned into a sort of hotspot for strange occurrences ever since Nightmare Moon had returned and was defeated to save Princess Luna. then, about three -maybe four- years later, Fira shows up.

Fira was born with three sisters, Windwalker, Waterfall, and Shadowfax, as elemental Alicorns. She controls Fire, while her sisters control Wind, Water and Shadows respectively. Now, thousands of winters since they were born, Windwalker, Waterfall, and Shadowfax have been acting strange, and have claimed the names Windstorm, Monsoon, and Nightstorm. Every move Fira makes to try and keep up with her duties of her element of fire--burning the overgrown brush in the forests to help the trees grow more, only to have Windstorm fan the flames into destroying the entire forest, lightening fires to help warm herds of deer and various other animals trying to survive the cold winter only to have Monsoon either freeze the fire or drown it thus causing the animals to freeze, and lastly she tried to lead animals to safety at night using a flame at the tip of her horn, and Nightstorm surrounds her and her horn with such thick darkness that the animals can no longer see it and are lead astray to death.

When these two meet, Fira is fighting with her sisters, all resembling Nightmare Moon in appearance. Lienia dismisses this and comes to try and stop the argument, believing it is just a small dispute, only to be sent flying into a tree and encouraging Fira to defeat her sisters, then to banish them into the elements they control. Then after taking Lienia to Zecora's, where the unicorn wakes up.

When a year passes, the sisters will be free, but meanwhile Fira has to blend in with the ordinary ponies of Ponyville, and something begins to bloom between the two very different ponies. Will the alicorn's secret be kept safe until she has to fight her sisters again? Or will Twilight discover and inform the princesses of the elemental's presence and put them in more danger? And what's this strange riddle in one of Twilight's books about there is no harmony without peace?

Prologue

I remember when I was younger… a young little foal. It was when I just began retaining memories. My mother had just given me a navy blue bow for my mane, and it was while she was fixing it in my hair when I first spoke, as I was very behind my fellow foals in this little thing.
“Mama, why do I not have wings like you or Papa?”
She was so surprised by the face I spoke she ran to fetch my father. When they returned I repeated that I was confused that instead of a pair of wings on my back I had a horn on my head. This induced a very, very, VERY long and excited explanation from my father about how he had a great, great, great grandfather who was a unicorn and how my mother hand a great, great grandmother who was also a unicorn, and somehow those two genes managed to find each other when I was conceived. And I on the other was still so small and young I had no idea what he was saying. It wasn’t until I became an older filly that I came to figure out what the explanation meant…

As I grew up to be an older filly, war broke out, and I was sent from our very small farm in Cervidas, where our pony village was a colony, to Equestia. I was sent to Canterlot Castle, to Princess Celestia.
She looked me over when I was carried in by a soldier, shaking and scared and confused as to why I was there alone, at only seven years, and decided that she would take care of me and get me some education until she could pick a family or caregiver that could.
So after she soothed me and got out of me that I was seven, my name was Lienia Harmony, and that I was the daughter of two pegasi, I asked my own question of who she was, and after learning she was a princess, I asked why I was sent to her and not an orphanage or something like that. She explained that since I was from a colony, and the only pony coming from my war torn country, that sometimes the guards over react, but that also since none of the ponies had truly contacted Equestia in such a long time, no one could really remember they were there, except the princess. So she took it upon herself to pick out a safe haven for me.
That was when I was enrolled in her Academy for magic for an education and how to control my developing magic, and given a room while she scoured for anypony that would take me in.

Now, my cutiemark, needless to say, did not come until I was perhaps closer to ten. This was three years after I came to Equestia, and was still not adopted. My parents, I had come to find out from the princess, were killed in a raid on my village. I spent three weeks in my room at the academy sobbing my eyes out.
When I came back to my classes, we were doing a project called What Future We Dream. I was put together with a purple filly and an off red colt. They were going off on a future where everything was properly controlled Equestia in the world, and I was sitting in my corner with my forlock over my eyes.
“Hey…” I whispered softly.
“Come on Twilight! We’re not all personal students of the princess, so you could at least try to act like a normal pony!” the red one snapped.
“Well if you would actually show you had something it that brain of yours, Eagle!” Twilight snapped at him.
“Hey, guys…” I whispered.
They kept screaming at each other, so I pulled the papers and stuff towards myself and started using my magic to sketch out images of the two fighting, the soldiers that came declaring our country was at war, and what I thought the world should be like, with everypony getting along happily.
“Linia what are you doing?!” Twilight snapped, yanking the paper from my hoofs.
“Her name isn’t Linia! It’s Lienia!” Eagle snapped at her, trying to take the paper back so I could keep working.
I sat and listened and watched as they pulled the paper back and forth, and my horn glowed as my heart clenched. The golden aura of my magic surround them both and my paper, and I pulled the paper to the table while I levitated them.
“I think you both should be ashamed of yourselves…” I whispered, slowly looking up at them as they stared at me. “I understand that you both think that the governments of the world working like here in Equestia would be wonderful, but I think Peace would be better.” They both started to argue, and the room had gone silent once I levitated my partners. I shook them to show I did not want them to speak. “I came from a small colony in Cervidas. Cervidas got torn apart by a civil war, and my parents were killed a month ago which is why I was out of class for three weeks; to GREIVE. You two are displaying why that would not work. The government in Cervidas was wonderful until the king died and his two sons were fighting over who took over the throne. I do not want you to fight, and I would like to do the project on peace. Peace is something that is good. And I want it to start right now. Am I understood?”
The class starting stomping in applause, and I dropped my partners when I jumped, and then I turned and apologized for dropping them.
Twilight huffed, but forgave me after Eagle jabbed her in the ribs.
We ended up with an A+ and I got my cutiemark… which was a white poppy.

At age twelve, I was finally sent to a unicorn family in Ponyville, who loved me as if I was their own.
The parents were Rare and George, and they had one daughter when I moved in, called Rarity, and soon after I settled in, had another called Sweetie Belle.
Rarity liked designing clothing, and found the fact I was a rather, as she liked to call me, “uncivilized and uncouth filly from the most uninhabited realm of the world”. I found her rather… infuriating. All she cared about really was her clothes… and her ranking. That’s the only reason she put up with me I think, because I lived in Canterlot for five years.

Time passed, I graduated from school with Rarity, met young pegasi named Fluttershy and her brash and loud friend Rainbow Dash, the crazy Pinkie Pie, and the honest Applejack. The ones I became closest to was Fluttershy and Applejack. I lived closest to Fluttershy, though even then I was pretty far from her and fairly close to Everfree Forest, and I was probably the loneliest of my friends..

Then that fateful summer solstice night came, when Midnight Moon returned, and Twilight Sparkle swept in, saved the day, and weaseled in on my sanctuary of Ponyville.

And seemed to bring all the strangest things to town…

Spa Days and Make Overs

Chapter 1: Spa Days & Makeovers

I trotted down the street passed Rarity’s boutique to the spa, where I was meeting Fluttershy and my sister for a bi weekly day, though for them it was weekly. I usually preferred not to do the spa, but Fluttershy asked me to join them at least every two weeks. I think it was because she needed someone else to interject Rarity’s ramblings about Canterlot fashion and social rankings.
Upon entering I noticed Applejack sitting beside Fluttershy in the spa lobby. “Oh, hey Applejack. I wasn’t expecting to see you here.”
“Well, Hi there, Lienia! How are y’all?” she got up and greeted me with a hug, wrapping her foreleg around my neck.
“I’m just fine, Applejack,” I replied, returning her hug. “Who talked you into joining us?”
“Shoot. Old Fluttershy here said it might do me some good, especially with how mah back has gone out from all the apple bucking this last season. But don’t get any ideas that Ah’ll make it a regular thing. This is just for mah back.”
I laughed. “No worries, Applejack. I wouldn’t doubt it for a second.”
The two of us laughed and I greeted Fluttershy similarly, only she was much quieter and also slightly distracted by the fashion magazine she was reading.
So I lounged back and waited for Rarity to run in exclaiming some excuse as to why she was late or sprouting off about someone who commented on her hat. I listened to the other ponies in the spa, and after about fifteen minutes I heard Rarity trot in with none-other that Miss. Twilight Sparkle, Bearer of the Element of Magic and Personal student to the Solar Princess. If Pinkie Pie and Rainbow came through the door, I was gonna leave the spa.
Thankfully, neither did, so I went through the motions and avoided Twilight, praying she wouldn’t recognize this little reverse palomino unicorn who stuck next to the young apple farmer. Thankfully she was too busy planning something with Rarity.
So, while sitting in the hot tub, I turned to my companion of choice. “So Applejack, how’s the orchards?”
“Well everything is just fine. The apples are gonna be ready for bucking soon in the west fields.”
“That’s wonderful.”
“It sure is. Ah just hope my back won’t get thrown out no more.”
“Well, if you know where any hot springs are, you could go there to soak, especially if they are close to the farm. Then Granny Smith and Big Mac could benefit. Applebloom to on those days she comes home sore from her “Crusading”.”
The earth pony looked thoughtful as her mind tossed around the idea of finding a hot springs. “Well, it would make it easier for me and ol’ Big Mac to rest our joints… and sometimes Applebloom is right sore, and it would help Granny smith with her hips…”
I smiled as it seemed she really was finding the logic of my suggestion. “And it would be a good way to unwind. You take picnics out there and you could have dinner under the stars.”
Applejack’s grin confirmed it. She loved that idea. “Ooooheee! Ah’d love that! Lienia, could y’all come help me?”
“Of course. What are friends for?” I replied with a smile.
She laughed and hugged me as we got out of the tub to get massages.

Once it was all over, Rarity lead me back to her boutique. Rare had told Rarity to try and find me a special somepony, so Rarity was try to… well, Rarity-fy me.
So I stood there trying not to scream my head off as she poked, stabbed, pulled, pushed, and essentially tortured me as she tried to get me in a dress. Then she had to add things to it and style my mane and put on makeup and other fru fru stuff on me.
And then she just had to make adjustments… on EVERYTHING!!!
“Rarity! Isn’t this—ow—a little much—erk—just for—ow—a date!” I cried out as she sewed on a hem while it was on me. Then a hair pin was shoved into my curls and horseshoes shoved on my hooves. “Ouch!”
“Oh quit your whining. If there’s no pain in fashion there’s no gain!”
“That doesn’t even make sense!” I snapped at her as she stabbed me with the end of a feather to try and make me stay still.
Rarity huffed and that feather was jabbed into my mane—more of through it and it smashed into my skull. “Only because you have zero interest or knowledge of fashion. But luckily, you have me to make you more presentable to the gentlecolts of the world.”
I growled as she pulled at the collar of the dress. “Or, since it’s really, YOUR mother wanting me to find a special somepony so she can have grandchildren, YOU should give your stupid career a break and try to find YOUR special somepony!”
Rarity looked taken aback at my statement.
You see, just because my cutiemark represents peace, doesn’t mean I’m totally peaceful. Especially when it came to snooty little Rarity. Sometimes I wanted to strange her with her own ribbons. That’s how much she annoyed me.
“Lienia. You know that I can’t even think about settling down until I am known all over Equestia for my designs—”
“FOR CELESTIA’S SAKE RARITY! PONIES ONLY WEAR CLOTHS FOR VERY, VERY, VERY SPECIAL OCCASIONS!!!!” I finally lost it. I briefly wondered if my outburst was heard all the way to Twilight’s, maybe even Sweet Apple Acres. “Unless they are snooty like you. If it was just a shawl, I wouldn’t have cared. A collar thing or scarf or maybe a hair bow. At most a nice small informal dress… BUT THIS?!?! THIS OVERKILL FOR DATING!!!” my purple maned adoptive sister was stumbling back as I jumped from the stool and pushed her back against the wall. “If you must make me a dress, make me a small short dress, not this ridiculous gown. And these horseshoes do not even fit and are pinching my hooves. And the headdress is beyond overkill.”
Rarity had tears in her eyes. “I thought you were peaceful.”
I blinked, then stepped back and looked away. “Forgive me… but you didn’t want to ask me what I wanted and I wanted to tell you.”
The fashionista unicorn took a breath and nodded. “You are right, I got distracted… I will make you a simpler dress… and perhaps a scarf.”
I nodded, and then allowed her to help me out of the clothes, and I trotted out. I was still slightly seething about the way she treated me, and so soon I was at full gallop down the road out of town.

Meeting

Chapter 2: Meeting.

After arguing with Rarity about whether or not I needed a fru fru outfit for dating, I had ran out of the Carousal Boutique without any of the fru fru that Rarity was trying to get me in, and a request for something simpler.. my breath was short from screaming, so I just focused on breathing as I passed Fluttershy's and headed to my own house, then passed it to venture into the Everfree Forest. I trotted in the wild wood had always calmed me when I was frustrated, and this time was certainly no different.
The sounds of the wild animals encircled me, but I continued my path, even as the trees seemed to reach to ensnare me. Even with all of these dangers, I kept my head up and continued on.
After about twenty minutes of walking, my ears perked as I heard arguing.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Now, dear readers—yes I am breaking the fourth wall here—we must venture into the story of another player in this… whatever you want to call this thing. Is it a book is it a novel? I really don’t know Dear I think they get the point. I will take it from here and give our readers a little back story on me. Why don’t you go take a break? If I must. You must. Because I told you to.
Ahem. Greetings. As you can tell this is not Lienia narrating. One the—what did she call it—font is different.
Now, my name is Fira. I am an Alicorn. At this moment in time I am approximately 2000 years old… older now that I think of it, I just stopped counting at 2000. I know I’m a bit older than Celestia and Luna. Note: I do not refer to them as “Princess”. My sisters and myself met them when they were foals once.
Alright I must quit my reminiscing; a mare should not be so open with her age. Now, as the princesses control the moon and sun, my sisters and I each control the elements of Wind, Water, Shadows, and Fire. I control fire. My duties are to keep the brush low in the forests, keep the animals warm in winter, and to guide animals through the darkness when the moon was blocked out.
My siblings did similar jobs in the world with their elements. I should probably tell you about them… First, there’s Windwalker, who controls wind. Then there’s Waterfall, bearer of water, and then there’s Shadowfax, who wields the shadows… she is also the youngest.
For many years we did our duties, even when Celestia and Luna came to power in Equestia, but it seemed we were forgotten. Even as they locked up Discord, and when Luna became Nightmare Moon. We were in the shadows and remained silent, fulfilling our duties without no pony knowing we were there.
Sometimes… when winter was well through and the animals warmed, I would fade into fires and watch ponies as they relaxed in their homes. I’ll admit… at first I felt bad about being so snoopy, but I felt a need to see how normal ponies lived. And I was never really disappointed… though I would get jealous…
Don’t get me wrong, I loved my sisters, but they were not enough… I wanted what other mares had… “a special somepony”. I didn’t care if it were a stallion or another mare. I just wanted someone I could be with and share this feeling of romance.
When my sisters found out about my little request, they understood, but they pointed out the one problem… the immortality. Even if I had found a special somepony… I would out live them… and watch them grow old, and die. Such is the curse of my heritage as an alicorn.
So I continued on with my life, trying to be strong and push away my wants. Duties were what I had to do. Perhaps when someone else had a knack for all of my duties, I would be able to find someone for me to be with forever…
Several decades passed. My sisters and I watched as our mortal friends slowly grow old and pass on. We clung close to each other as we continued through the years by ourselves.
Then… that fateful Summer Sun Celebration in Equestia… We had returned to our parents’ home to rest for the night—it was really the only day our parents allowed us to rest, as it was our father and our own birthday… amazingly we were all born on the same day different years. So not only were we resting but we were being showered with gifts from family, friends, and a few suitors our parents had aligned for myself, Windwalker, and Waterfall. Shadowfax wasn’t ready for such attention, being the youngest of the four of us.
Now I must speak of my mother and father. Gaia and Welkin. Our mother, Gaia, was a guardian of the earth, in charge of the seasons and the entire care of the earth’s creatures. Our father, Welkin, ruled the endless expanse of sky, assisting our mother in the changing of seasons and creating weather to help the earth create new life.
We had this one relative: an uncle. He was one of our relatives who got stuck as a normal pony instead of an alicorn… which it seems a lot of them are. But that is not my point. This uncle arrived, and everyone shunned and turned away, trying to get him to leave; you see, this uncle was the black, evil sheep of the family. But he did not depart without dropping five obsidian chests with the names of the receivers in some kind of jewels that seemed to match our talents and coloring.
Mother advised we hide the chests and never open them, and only bring them out when we needed to move from place to place throughout the year. My father buried his in his closet, and we buried ours in our dimension pockets. I never touched mine after that night…
Later, when peeking into a fire, a I discovered that Nightmare Moon had returned and had attempted to begin her Eternal Night if not for the Elements of Harmony, who defeated her and managed to revert her back to Princess Luna. I had the worst feeling that the chests contained shards of Nightmare Moon.
Slowly, one by one, my sisters fell into darkness, speaking of overthrowing Celestia and Luna and taking over Equestia, and then started to call themselves Windstorm, Monsoon, and Nightstorm. And then they began trying to entice me to join them. But I refused. Over and over. Then they turned my life into a living realm of Hades.
Needless to say, my life has become a large pile of horse apples. My parents banished all of us until my sisters were freed from their darkness. So now I continue my duties as best as I can with them sabotaging me at every turn. Sometimes I banish them for a year into their elements and pray they learn… unfortunately, they never do.

And then I met this beautiful wonderful, brilliant—Fira, I’m none of those things. Are too. Are not. I think you are. And that’s the important thing. Whatever. I will be taking over again. Now I believe I was walking through the forest right? Yes, and I think you heard arguing… Ah yes. *sounds of a throat clearing.* let us resume. Shouldn’t I tell it? It will be third person until I come in and why ARE WE STILL TYPING OUT THIS CONVERSATION?!?!?! Because it is somewhat entertaining and keeps the readers rather enraptured with what we are speaking of hoping to get a hint of what is to come. Oh… right….
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
After being chased around the forest for about three hours, an alicorn with the color schemes of flames spun as she decided to confront her sisters as they circled above her. “Why won't you leave me alone?!”
A white alicorn with a dark gray mane landed in front of her. “Because you refuse to join us! We could rule over these retched little ponies!”
A dark oceanic blue one nodded as she swept out of a puddle, shaking the water from her wings as she walked forward. “Come dear sister, join us. It will be so much easier...”
A black alicorn seemingly appeared out of her shadow and caressed her flank with her tail as she circled her. “Come on sister. You know you want to, imagine how much stronger you will be.”
“I've told you once and I will tell you again, I am not going to join you! Now go away!” She snarled as her mane and tail began billowing and her pupils became dragon like.
Her dark sister's tail whipped around her throat as her voice hissed, “You're only making this much harder sister.”
The fiery sibling pulled away. “I don't want to be part of it.”
The cloud colored sister faded and reappeared beside her. “Mother and father would never want us to be apart like this.”
“True. But they also didn't want it to be this way either.”
The blue sister chuckled. “Sweet Fira. but we could rule instead of that petty Celestia.”
“I rather not.”
I watched silently from the bushes as the other three alicorns—I noted they all had armor similar to Nightmare Moon's, all glared at their red coated sister and lowered their heads and charged.
Fira backed up a few steps and then lowered her head.
I ran out—I’m that smart…—and stood in the center of their charge. “STOP! There is a rational and less dangerous way to settle your argument!”
The three stop, then the dark one growls and lifts me up, and slams me against a tree with her magic. Darkness faded into my vision and I passed out.
“Leave her out of this! That wasn't needed. And she's right. I only lowered my head to defend myself!” Fira snapped, stepping between her sisters and my unconscious body.
“That pathetic little foal did not need to stick her nose into things that is not her business!” her siblings chanted.
Fira’s horn glows and she lifts them up-
They all struggle and the white one glares at the blue. “DO SOMETHING MONSOON!”
The apparent eldest glared at her. “Leave now!”
Monsoon lowered her head and her horn glowed blue as she took control of a puddle in front of Fira, who flicked her head so they go flying into a tree.
They all crumbled to the ground for a moment and Monsoon glared at the white. “Your turn Windstorm.”
She knocked them into the trees a couple more times and then banished them into their elements.
They shriek as they are and then silence flooded the clearing. Fira trotted over to the pony with the white coat and yellow mane and tail, gold horn and a white poppy as the cutie mark. She remained still, though her breathing appeared to be normal.

I am so sorry for not updating. the next chapter is on my old computer, which I still need to recover the files from. I have gotten the current chapters in word, and I will perhaps edit the three, clean up the dialogue and or add a few more details, and then go from there. If there are people still interested when I repost the new revised chapters, I will do my best to continue the chapters.
