Our swords clashed in the flames of Tartarus. I saw my opponent, and she saw me. Looking directly into her violet eyes, I charged forwards. Our swords collided once more.

"Did you think there would be no consequences?! Did you think you could escape?!" I bellowed above the cries of the damned. "Did you not think I would penetrate the sensitive nethers of this virgin Hell to find you?! Did you seriously think that hiding here like the coward you are would keep you from my wrath? Not soldiers, not weapons, not magic and not even the being named Death shall protect you! Once you die here, you will have never have existed! I will wipe you from the history books, like I did with your depraved family of twisted monsters! Twilight Sparkle, I will destroy you!"

The mare swiped at me, her eyes filled with venom. "You are a fool, Armor! You might have destroyed my beloved family, but remember one thing!" the unicorn mare leaned in close, blocking my blade. "You will forever live with the knowledge that you murdered your own sister with your own hooves! No revenge will spare you the guilt of knowing that your soul is tainted! And soon, the guilt will overtake you, and only the release of death will spare you...and I will be waiting for that day, for my vengeance."

"Silence, accursed creature!" I cried in anger, furiously swinging at the mare I once called my little sister. Her crimes were many, and her excuses few. She effortlessly blocked my blindly enraged strikes. Her horn glowed with her unholy magic. I detected this, and countered.

We stood atop the platform, precariously jutting up from a sulphurous lake of magma, in which the souls of murderers, rapists and heathens suffered in eternity for their crimes, guarded by Cerebus and his hellish pack.

Twilight Sparkle charged once more, screaming incantations that could only come from the blackest pits of an abomination's heart. That was all she was. An abomination. Once a beautiful young princess of Equestria, reduced to a whore of Hades. I felt my blood boil as I counter-attacked, and I could almost feel nothing but hatred. Not even a sense of justice. Not even duty. Just pure hate and vengeance.

"You are wasting your time, Shining Armor." Twilight said, eerily quiet. "You know me to be invincible. If I could defeat the Royal Sisters, and if I could defeat the fools I once named my friends...and if I could smite your wife in one strike, then you know you stand no chance. I will offer you one last chance of surrender." she said, lowering the sword in her hooves. "Leave this place, and forever be at peace, and I may even spare you in my reign, or continue to fight in futility, and see your wife in the pits of death!"

"If all of Elysium, in all its glorious wonder was offered to me, I will still fight you, abomination! For Valhalla! For Equis! For Cadance!" I boomed, charging once more, my blade aimed at the abomination's throat. She did not flinch.

"Words of a fool. Goodbye." Twilight said, before I saw her blade sheathed in flame and magic and propelled towards me. I gasped as I looked down to see the blade, jutting from my chest. There was no blood. The fires had simply burnt their way through my blessed armor. It had protected me from her brainwashed hordes. From the undead slaves that were once the Elements. From her damned hordes, conjured from a place that should not be.
"May you be cursed...to a fate worse than a thousand Hells!" I spluttered, before I breathed my last. Twilight Sparkle stood victorious over my corpse.

"Dear brother, you were a terrible fool. You knew that none would defeat me, yet you charged. Was it your soldier's instinct? Was it true bravery? Was it simply petty-minded vengeance? No matter." she laughed deeply. "You are dead now. And it is you whom is doomed to cessation of existence. Today, Tartarus falls to me. Tomorrow, it shall be Elysium, Valhalla and Heaven. And soon, all of reality and all of time will bow down to God-Queen Twilight Sparkle! My words will become law! I will be immortal! And I shall be eternal."

"Shining Armor!" Princess Cadance shouted. I looked up, as the fires disappeared, my blade became a mere foam sword and my wounds disappeared.
"What?" I replied to the alicorn at the door, annoyed she had interrupted my game.
"You are a twenty-seven year old stallion. You are prince of a whole nation. You are the Commander-In-Chief of the Crystal Empire Defense Force. What in blue blazes are you doing having a fake sword fight using military training illusion magic?!"
"Okay, fine, mom." I said dismissively. "Excuse me for playing around with my little sister." Twilight remained silent in the matter, her crown awkwardly placed on her head, dislodged in the 'fighting.'
"I would be fine with it and maybe I would've joined in, but not now! Auntie Celestia is downstairs!"
"Princess Celestia is here?" I questioned. "Why didn't you tell me?!"
"I did!" Cadance replied. "You weren't listening, as usual! You never listen!"

I looked around for Twilight to back me up, but it seemed she had already absconded to meet the Princess. I sighed in defeat. She was always the strongest out of the both of us. There was no way I could defeat her in an argument.

"Fine, I'll be there now."
"Thank you." my wife said, before leaving.

I stood up in the empty room, before throwing the foam sword to one side and walking downstairs to meet Celestia.

Still, nothing beats a nostalgic trip down Memory Lane. Although it has always distressed me that Twily has that entire scenario planned out for a mere game...
