> Deepest Fears > by VectorGameplay > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Prologue - An Unexpected Guest > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Deepest Fears -An Unexpected Guest- By Vectorgameplay "What a beautiful day!!" Celestia said to herself has she walked through the many hallways of the Canterlot castle. "No disturbances have been reported by the guards. The Griffons are being very peaceful with the territory negotiations. Discord didn't cause any trouble this morning and even Ponyville is quiet for once," She happily said. "It's very surprising how a small town can get into so much trouble." Ponyville did tend to find itself in far more trouble than any other town throughout Equestria, Canterlot included. It is one of the many reasons why Ponyville a popular destination to many a tourist and adventurer visiting Equestria. Not only is it the home of the national heroes: ‘The Bearers of the Elements of Harmony’, it was also home to one of the four princesses of Equestria, Twilight Sparkle. It is also one of the most random and interesting places in the country due to its proximity to the dangerous Everfree Forest and the gem caves of the Diamond dogs. The god of chaos and disharmony, Discord was living in a cottage just on the edge of the town with a Pegasus named Fluttershy and the hyperactive ball of pink energy and madness known by the locals as ‘Pinkie Pie’ are just a few of the charms that the little town had to offer. __________ The only thing that probably hasn't happened yet in that town is a hairless monkey/ape thing appearing out of nowhere or by a magical portal, wearing clothes and claiming to be from another universe. But that is obviously impossible… right? __________ While Celestia happily walked to one of the corridors, she was addressed by one of the many royal guards at her charge. "Excuse me, your highness?" Asked the royal guard named Iron Sword. "Yes Iron Sword, is there something wrong? "No, Your Highness. We have already taken care of everything, I was just to inform you that breakfast is ready and the others are waiting for you to arrive." Very well. Thank you for informing me, Iron. You are relieved. I shall call another guard later to cover for you." "Of course, Your Highness, thank you!" He saluted and went back to the barracks. After finishing her little chat with the guard, Celestia walked impatiently towards the only thing that would make this lovely day complete, "Vanilla cake, I'm coming for you!" 5 minutes later - Dining Room he moment Celestia arrived at the dinning room she was welcomed by her younger sister, Princess Luna, her ‘lovely’ nephew Prince Blueblood and her student, the recently crowned Princess Twilight Sparkle. "Good morning everypony" Celestia said with a warm smile on her face. "Did i miss anything important?" "Yes aunty, I was just telling Aunt Luna and Twilight how my morning got ruined by one of the clumsy maids of the castle," Blueblood replied with his usual air of self-importance "Please Princess, make him stop! He has been speaking for half an hour!" Twilight cried out in irritation while Luna looked very calm, as if this was a daily routine for her. "How can you be so calm with him whining all the time?. Twilight asked the princess of the night. "Years of practice Twilight Sparkle, he was like this since the moment he learned to speak," Luna replied. "But let us postpone the discussion of our nephew’s behavior for now. How are you today dear sister? “Everything's just great Luna,” Celestia said while she took a seat in front of her cake which she was eating at 8:45 AM, “The morning is just so lovely and peaceful. The guards have certainly been doing a splendid job in protecting the castle. -Meanwhile in the Royal guard's barracks- "Do you have a three?" A stallion guard said. "Go fish, Power Shield," Replied Nova Blade, one of the few mares that managed to enter the royal guard, "You know we should be protecting the castle instead of playing this stupid card game right? What if Celestia catches us?" "Relax Nova, she is most likely too busy eating her morning cake to notice some missing guards," Power Shield replied with a grin, "I sometimes think her cutie mark is for having a flank as big as the sun itself." "Shield, you know you shouldn't joke about Celestia's flank," Nova reprimanded with a serious look on her face, "Do you remember what happened with Manfredi and Johnson when they joked about it?” "Yeah I remember what happened," Power Shield said with a sad look. "Their remains were put in a manila envelope. From Manila, ironically." "We had to bury what was left of them with a teaspoon". "..." "..." "..." "Do you have a seven?" "Buck you Nova you are cheating!!" -Back to the castle- "I'm sure everything is just fine," Celestia said, biting another piece of her cake, "A day as beautiful as this deserves a stroll through the gardens, somepony care to join me?" I'm sorry Princess but a carriage is waiting for me to take me to Ponyville after breakfast and Pinkie already has a party planned when I get back home," Twilight said apologetically.. "Don’t worry so much Twilight. I understand friends are one of the most important things in life. And I'm sure my sister will accompany me on my little walk, isn't that right, Lulu? "But of course, I have plenty of time before starting with the preparations for the Night court. I would love to go with you Tia," "I can go too you want..." Blueblood started to say but was cut off by both Celestia and Luna. "NO!!". Everypony in the room was taken back by the sudden outburst of the two sisters. Celestia - watching the commotion she just caused - cleared her throat and spoke in a serene tone. "I mean... no dear nephew. It is quite fine with just my sister and I. You are free to go somewhere else." "Well, I guess I can go to the makeup artist to apply another layer of eyeliner and fix my mane with a new style. It’s getting a tad frizzy," Blueblood said, patting his mane absent-mindedly. "Colt Cuddler," Twilight said in an almost whisper tone but loud enough to be hear by the other two princesses who started to chuckle at the sudden joke of her friend. "Now what are you two laughing at?" Blueblood said with an annoyed tone. "Nothing for you to worry about nephew," Celestia giggled. "This will work has future trolling opportunities", The solar princess and "self-proclaimed" greatest troll of Equestria thought. She kept closest to her heart, "Be afraid, Blueblood. Be very afraid!" Fifteen minutes after - Canterlot's Garden After everypony finished their breakfast, both princesses went to say their goodbyes to Twilight Sparkle and got back to the castle to start their walk through the gardens. "You were right sister, this day is surely perfect for a walk!". Princess Luna said. And it was true. At this time of the year in the middle of Spring, the Royal Garden turns into one of the most beautiful places in Equestria. The rays of the sun at the perfect angle to create an effect of holiness and peace, the marvellous sight of the blooming of the deciduous magnolias, cherries, and quince giving a feeling of warmth and serenity. The small critters like butterflies and ladybirds, as well as the animals waking up from hibernation such as squirrels, bunnies and birds added the final touch to make the garden look - in simple terms - unique. "But of course it is Lulu, but now that we are here, I think it's time for me to ask you a very important question, if that is alright with you of course!" Celestia said changing her almost motherly tone to a one of seriousness. "But of course sister, I have no secrets to hide from you. Feel free to ask whatever question that plagues your mind and I will do my best to answer it," Luna said, curious to know what question had her sister prepared for her. "Have you ever thought about getting a student?" " ... Well, that escalates quickly!" "Luna please, I am being serious. You need to get yourself a student, somepony you can socialize with besides the ponies at the castle and he or she can be the key to get you out of the castle more often," Celestia replied with a small frown. "I know Tia, it's just…" Luna cursed under her breath, "Even after the four years since my return to the throne, our subjects are still terrified by my presence, despite the fact that the celebration of Nightmare Night has worked in part to assuage their concerns. I still not sure if anypony would trust me enough to be my apprentice," Luna said with a sad look on her face. Celestia couldn't find words to describe her feelings. She was worried for her sister because she knew she was right, ponies were still fearful over Luna's actions in the past. But even then, she still had hope, hope that her sister would find somepony special to call her student and possibly… her friend "There is a stallion for each mare" as the old saying goes ... but everypony knows that couldn't be further from the truth. The true is that there is a stallion for every five or six mares but ... you get the point!. "I'm sure you will find somepony who won't judge you for what you did Lulu. My student Twilight is a prime example of it. She wanted to befriend you the moment you arrived to Ponyville two years ago on Nightmare Night, isn't that right?” Celestia asked with a raised eyebrow. "I'm still no sur..." She couldn't finish the sentence when suddenly she felt a magic power flowing from somewhere in the gardens. "Was this energy here all the time?". She thought while looking for the source of this magic power. "Can you feel it too, Luna?" Celestia asked her younger sister. "Yes sister, I surely can, but there's something about this magic that intrigues me." Luna replied, growing concerned. "And that is?" Celestia asked, curious as to what her sister had to say. "I have only felt this kind of magic in my Unicorn Lunar guards," Luna replied, "Whatever it is that hold this kind of power, surely knows how to use dark magic… and it's very powerful." "Looks like this day is not going to be as peaceful as i thought" Celestia said with a little of fear in her voice. Fifteen minutes after - Canterlot's Garden After some time trying to find the source of the dark magic, both princesses - with some royal guards that were more than eager to help their rulers - they found it… lying unconscious on the ground. A purple unicorn stallion with a spiky two toned violet mane and a short, matching tail. But what caught the attention of both princesses was not his coloration… it was his Cutie Mark. It consisted of an evil looking smile with a pair of eyes that created the feeling of being able to look right through your soul. It was an unsettling sight for all concerned. Taking a closer look, they were able to gauge his magical power better. It wasn't as powerful as Twilight's magic went she was a unicorn but it was still pretty impressive. But the interesting part of the magic that the unicorn possessed was the large amount of dark magic he seemed to be emanating with each breath. It was amazing and frightening at the same time. "GUARDS!" Yelled Celestia "Yes Your Highness?" The royal guards said in unison "Take the stallion to the infirmary at once!" The guards saluted to princess and lifted the stallion to the infirmary with their magic. "Do you think he will be fine, sister?" Luna asked her older sister with a worried look. "He appears to be rather strong of body for a unicorn. I believe he will be alright," Celestia said, hoping she was right. But she still was concerned about the stallion’s power, ‘How did he get this far into the gardens without being detected by the guards? Why does he emanate amounts of dark magic not seen in years?’ She thought. "Luna, why don't you go with the guards and see to the well-being of our unusual guest while I send for Twilight and the Elements of Harmony?" Celestia asked her sister. "Are you sure we will need the Elements sister? If something happen, we could easily take care of it," Luna asked curiously. "Better to have them and not need them than need them but not have them," Celestia replied. "Very well sister, I shall inform you of any developing situation concerning our little… guest," And with that, Luna took flight to the nurse's office, leaving Celestia alone to her thoughts "This day just gets better and better". She thought before summoning a some parchment and a quill with her magic. > Chapter 1 - Meet The Pony Team > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Deepest Fears -Meet The Pony Team- By Vectorgameplay 10:37AM - Canterlot Castle An entire day had passed since the mysterious stallion appeared in the castle gardens under rather curious circumstances. Celestia's warm, radiant sun was descending in the horizon to give space to the shining moon and the vast stars that her younger sister Luna had prepared for the evening. The Bearers of the Elements of Harmony arrived at the castle a number of hours earlier after Princess Celestia sent the letter to Twilight Sparkle. They were very concerned about the unconscious stallion, each for different reasons. After both Celestia and Luna finished with their royal duties for the day, they went to the throne room together to wait for the Bearers. Celestia sent a royal guard to inform Twilight and her friends that they were ready and waiting for them. It didn't take much time before they all arrived at the throne room. "Hello Everypony, i'm glad you are all here in such a short notice" Celestia said to Twilight and her friends. They all bowed in sign of respect for her rulers. "It is always a pleasure to come here Princess" Twilight said while still bowing. "Please rise Twilight. I already told you that there is no need to be so formal around us anymore. You are all my friends... and Celestia is just fine," Celestia said warmly. They all nodded in understanding. "Sorry Prin- i mean Celestia" Twilight said with an awkward grin on her face. "Old habits die hard, i guess" "Don't worry about it Twilight, let's just start the discussion about why you were invited, shall we?" Celestia asked. "Oh right! You said something about an unconscious stallion that appeared in the gardens, isn't it that right?" Twilight said. Celestia nodded.. "But what's so special about this stallion?" One of Twilight's friends, a cyan Pegasus mare called Rainbow Dash asked, "Is he some kind of celebrity or something?" "Rainbow Dash has a point there," Another one of Twilight's friends, a white unicorn mare called Rarity said, "Even though something rather dreadful might have happened to that poor dear, I don't see the reason to summon all of us. Unless he is somepony very special." "‘Special’ could be one way to describe him," Princess Luna said in a sarcastic tone. "What exactly do you mean by that?". Asked Twilight with her curiosity calling for answers. "First of all..." Started Celestia, "We haven't found any documents to confirm he is from Canterlot. So he may have come from another city but sadly we don't know which one and none of the train drivers or the ticket sellers can recall a stallion matching his description." "But the most interesting part is..." Luna continued, "We detected a large concentration of dark magic around him… and it is quite powerful as well." Everypony in the room gasped at the rather dark news as they began to speculate. "Whoa there, are you sayin' than that feller is evil?" Another mare, an earth pony named Applejack asked with a concerned look. "We are still not sure about it, not everypony who controls dark magic is evil, i am an example of it". Princess Luna said to Applejack. "You perform dark magic?" Twilight asked. "Indeed i do Twilight Sparkle. You did as well when my sister sent to the Crystal Empire, do you not recall?" Luna asked to Twilight. Flashes of the actions Twilight was forced to make came flooding back, including her failure to notice the difference between reality and a magical illusion conjured to stop her. "Yes I remember, but it was very difficult to control," Twilight said, a little ashamed. "It's not a surprise you couldn't control it Twilight. Dark magic is conjured by thoughts of hate and fear, so most ponies that control this kind of magic are the ones with a terrible past like my Lunar Guards or me. "And that is one of the reasons why we called you all," Celestia said to the group, "We don't know anything about this stallion but he apparently seems to have a very dark past, so our main objective is to make sure he feels welcome so we can get a good impression of his personality but we also need all of you and the Elements of Harmony in case things get out of hoof. Dark magic can be very destructive if it is used incorrectly by the wrong pony". Another of Twilight's friends stepped forward, a pink earth pony called Pinkie Pie. "Don't worry princess. you can count with us in making this stallion, the HAPPIEST stallion in Equestria!!" ‘Faust please have mercy on this poor stallion,’ Celestia thought before giving Pinkie Pie a warm smile, "I know you will girls, I trust all of you." "Now we just need to wait for the stallion to wak..." Twilight started to say but was interrupted when a royal guard suddenly opened the door, alerting everyone in the room. "Your Highness, the stallion just woke up!" The royal guard named Silver Light informed them. "Thank you Silver Light we will be there in a min... Is that a black eye?" Celestia asked Silver Light worried about what happened. "Yeeeaaah... about that... let's just say the stallion didn't wake up on the right side of the bed," He replied "Girls, we need to go find that stallion. Fast!" Twilight said, worried about what trouble the stallion could be getting into in the infirmary. ‘I hope everything is ok,’ Twilight thought before she joined her friends as they ran towards the castle’s infirmary. 7 Minutes Later - Canterlot Castle's Infirmary "Please calm down sir!" One of the two nurses said to the stallion in a vain attempt to calm him down. "The princesses will arrive soon. Please just wait for them." "I don't know who these princesses you are speaking about even are and I really don't give a single buck about them, so why don't you just untie me so I can get the buck out of here. How does that sound to you?" The stallion replied to the nurse.. "I'm afraid we can't do that sir, Princess Celestia gave us explicit orders not let you go until she got here to check on you herself," Another nurse said in a very annoyed tone, stemming from the stallion's behavior. "Oh gosh, you two must have a very low self confidence if you two have to wait for somepony to tell you what to do!" The stallion said with a similarly annoyed tone. "Okay, that's it!" One of nurses said, as her tolerance reached a breaking point, but she was interrupted by a knock on the door. "Oh thank Celestia they are here!” The nurse said, very relieved by the arrival of Equestria’s rulers. The stallion stayed silent as he watched two new ponies come to the room. They appeared to be much taller than the average pony. They were wearing some sort of breastplates and crowns and also possessed both a horn and a pair of wings. ‘Those must be the princesses that those two good for nothing nurses were talking about,’ He thought before noticing that the taller of the two princesses was talking to him. "Good evening sir, my name is Princess Celestia. Goddess of the sun and Co-Ruler of Equestria and this...-” She said, addressing to the shorter princess “- is my sister and Co-Ruler Princess Luna, Goddess of the moon and the night. What's your name?" "Fearful. Fearful Dream," The stallion replied, "Listen, can't we just cut off this stupid introduction so you two can tell me how I got here?" The two princesses looked to each other for a moment, a little lost for words at the stallion’s statement. "Actually we were going to ask you the same thing, we found you lying unconscious in the castle gardens. Mind explaining us what you were doing there in the first place?" Luna asked Fearful, hoping to get an answer. "Girl, I don't even remember what I was doing before I woke up here. I guess I have some sort of amnesia or something because my head hurts like buck. I'm lucky enough to remember my name so... how about letting me go now?" Fearful asked, already annoyed by the princesses' presence. "I'm afraid we can't let you do that, we still have some questions for you," Princess Luna replied coolly to the annoyed stallion. "And we are not the only ones with questions," Celestia said, receiving a questioning look from the stallion, "It is safe girls, you may come in now." After Celestia spoke, 6 other mares came to the room, two earth ponies, two Pegasi, one unicorn and another one with both wings and a horn "Okay... I don't know where are we going with this... but I think I like it!" Fearful said, receiving some blushes from some girls and some laughs and giggles from others, "But really, what is with the crowd?" "I think I can answer that" Replied Twilight, "You see, my friends and I were informed that you appeared unconscious in the gardens so we came here to help you and at the same time get some answers from you, but apparently with that amnesia of yours, I gather we aren't going to get much information." "No shit Sherlock!" Fearful said, sarcastically. "Would you save the cursing and sarcasm for after we are done here?" Asked Twilight, kind of offended by the stallion's remark. "Anyway, sorry we haven't been properly introduced. My name is Twilight Sparkle, Princess of Friendship," Twilight said. ‘Another princess, just what I need at a time like this!’. Fearful sarcastically thought. "I'm Fearful, Fearful Dream". "And this here are my friends!". Twilight said, pointing a hoof to the mares behind her. "Howdy there, partner, I’m Applejack, nice tah meet ya!" Applejack greeted, tipping her brown Stetson hat to be a little more formal in her greeting. "Sup bro, I’m Rainbow Dash, the fastest and coolest Pegasus in all of Equestria!" Rainbow Dash said. Woah, and i thought i had a big ego. Fearful thought before looking at the Pegasus mare with a light pink mane. "How about you?" Fearful asked the Pegasus, receiving an answer in the form of a sound along the lines of "eep" before the mare started backing off, "What the buck?" "Oh don't mind Fluttershy she is just very shy that's all," The Unicorn mare with a snow white coat said. "Wow, that's a pretty clever name," Fearful said to himself. "And you are?" He said pointing a hoof to the white mare. "Oh right, please excuse me, my name is Rarity. A pleasure to make your acquaintance darling," She said with her usual classy air about herself. "Cool, now can we plea... wait, wasn't there a pink mare here with you?" Fearful asked the group of mares when suddenly a pink blob appeared on top of him, under the covers of his bed "HI I'M PINKIE PIE!!" The aforementioned missing group member shouted gleefully.. "HOLY BUCKING SHIT!!" Yelled the scared stallion, "Where the buck did you came from?" Fearful asked the hyperactive mare who clearly lacked knowledge about personal space, "You know, forget what I asked. Just please get off me.". "Okey-Dokey-Lokey," Pinkie Pie said. "I just wanted to say hi because you are new here and since you are new here then that means you don't have friends and since you don't have friends then we can be your very first friends because everypony need friends and I’m friends with everypony so wanna be friends?" Pinkie Pie asked at a pace too fast for the stallion to fully understand. "Can somepony translate that? I think my migraine just got worse!" Fearful said crying out due to the increased pain in his head. "Are you always in such a bad mood?" Twilight asked the Fearful, worried for the stallion. "Twilight, I have a pain in my fore and back hooves. My back is killing me and your pink friend there just gave me an even bigger migraine. Please excuse me if I’m not exactly a ray of sunshine and smiles, jumping for joy at the very sight of new ponies,” Fearful replied, annoyed at the mares before him. "Well, now that we are done with the introductions, I guess we will leave you for a while so you may rest. We have quite a lot to talk about so we will be back to check on you later," Celestia said before start exiting the room with the others behind her. "Wait, aren't you going to untie me first?" Fearful asked to Celestia, hoping to get free of the hospital bed he was laying on. "Maybe later, who knows?" Replied Celestia with a grin on her face. ‘Okay, this day just can't get worse’ Fearful thought before noticing Celestia and Pinkie Pie coming back to the room. "Oh and just to make sure you are safe and having fun, I’m going to leave miss Pinkie Pie here to take care of you while you wait for us to come back," Celestia said with an almost evil grin. ‘Buck you Murphy! BUCK YOU!!’! Fearful thought, before been covered by a pink mass. > Chapter 2 - After The Storm Comes The... Nope I'm Still Screwed > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Deepest Fears -After The Storm Comes The... Nope I'm Still Screwed - By: Vectorgameplay 3 Days Later - 6:26 AM - Canterlot's Castle It had been three days since Fearful Dream woke up in the Canterlot Castle’s infirmary. He had since then made a full recovery of the various injuries that he had sustained prior to his arrival and had been discharged by both the attending nurses and the Princesses. The Princesses further allowed him to freely explore the castle and the city of Canterlot to allow him to familiarize himself with his surroundings. Fearful woke up as the light of the sun passed through the window suddenly and fell directly onto his eyes, wrenching him from dreamland. "Ugh, Faust damn you Celestia! Damn you and your bucking sun!" Fearful cursed as he tried to go back to sleep but his efforts were proved fruitless when he heard a loud knock coming from the door that led into the hallway. He grudgingly got out bed and rubbed his eyes before opening the door. He found a typical Royal Guard standing there in front of him with the usual stoic expression on his face that they were commonly associated with. "Good morning sir, I'm here to inform you that breakfast is ready and the princesses are waiting for you to join them." Said the Royal Guard. "Yeah, yeah I know, like every single morning, tell them I will be there in a while" Replied Fearful to the Guard, which saluted and immediately when to inform the princesses. Fearful - after finishing his little ‘chat’ with the Guard - went to the bathroom to take a shower. As the lukewarm water of the shower fell onto the stallion’s mane and coat, he started thinking about what his options were concerning his situation. He was staying in one of the many rooms that the castle had to offer for the guests by ‘order’ of Princess Celestia. He was sure she had another reason as she enjoyed teasing him. But even with all the luxuries the castle had to offer and the special treatment he was receiving, he didn't feel comfortable there. Living in the castle and depending on the princesses was not something he wanted. He wanted a place for himself, a home where he could do whatever he damn well pleased without being constantly interrupted by the princesses or any other pony But - of course - there was a single yet monumental problem that stood in his way: he didn't have any bits to buy a house. So how would he be able get that solitude and peace he craved if he didn't have any money to pay for it? After mulling it over for a few seconds, he got a ludicrously simple - but at the same time effective - idea "I need a damn job" Fearful said with an air of irritation. "I guess I could ask the princesses for a job to gain some bits so I can move out of this castle." He said as he stepped out of the shower. After a little while - taken up by drying his coat and mane - he left his room and walked over to the dinning hall, anxious to speak with the Princesses about his decision. 6:53 AM - Canterlot's Castle - Dinning Hall "Why does he always take so long to get up in the morning?" Twilight said, slightly irritated over Fearful’s callous disregard for arriving punctually Twilight Sparkle had been coming to Canterlot more often since the day Fearful Dream appeared in the gardens. She was intrigued about the dark power the stallion apparently possessed so her natural curiosity and thirst for knowledge wouldn't allow her to leave without further investigation. But as for the stallion himself, well... She didn't like him... she didn't like him at all. Over the three days she had spent with him, she developed a long-winded, multi-paged personality profile of Fearful. Here’s the condensed version Annoying, sarcastic, disrespectful, rude, selfish, pretty lazy and in some cases childish were the first words Twilight that came to her mind when defining Fearful. At least he wasn't aggressive nor did he have a particularly large ego otherwise she would be facing a second Blueblood. And Equestria already had enough problems with just the one Despite his very apparent personality faults, Fearful also displayed a rather intelligent aspect to his personality. He seemed to be a pony that would actually think before acting, somepony who creates strategies depending on the situation but always has a plan B just in case things don’t work the first time. What Fearful lacked in manners, he made up for it in knowledge. And she had to give him credit: it was one of the very few good qualities he possessed "Just wait a little longer Twilight. You shall see, he shouldn’t be too much longer," Celestia said to her student with a warm smile. "I know, Celestia it's just that..." Twilight paused for a minute, trying to relax a little before answering the princess, "He does this every single time he has been called anywhere. He always arrives late for everything! I am sure he does this on purpose.. "Just give him some time Twilight, he still needs to adjust to his new surroundings. You would too if you found yourself in unfamiliar surroundings. I doubt it would take you three days to fully adjust with memory loss. I am confident that one day he will call Canterlot home as you once did," Replied Celestia without losing her smile, "Besides, I find his informality quite refreshing," She said, taking a sip of her tea. "What, are you serious?" Asked Twilight with a shocked look. "Indeed I am Twilight, I’m very impressed with his ability regarding his capacity of having no fear to speak whatever crosses his mind. What intrigues me though is that at the same time he knows what he needs to omit from the information he gives others," Celestia said to Twilight, "He could be a great politician someday if you ask me. "But... But... he is so disrespectful and without manners and..." Twilight started to say but was cut off by Luna. "We are aware of his behavior, Twilight Sparkle but we are certain that you and your friends will be able to help him improve that rather lackluster aspect of his personality. If your opinion is solely based on his sarcasm, let me remind you that my dear sister is just like him, if not worse!" "Yes I know, but I’m still not too sure Princ..." Again Twilight started but was cut off by the sound of the doors being opened. "Sorry if I’m late everypony, I had a rough morning. Thank you Celestia for your lovely sunny rays falling directly onto my face. Just the thing I needed to wake me up in the morning. I really appreciated it," Fearful sarcastically said to Celestia while taking a seat beside Twilight. "I'm glad you like them, I made them with love and care, just for you" Celestia said returning the joke to Fearful. This was one of the things Celestia liked about Fearful. While most ponies would have already given up when it came to trolling her due to the fact that she was the ‘ultimate troll’, there were a few others that no matter how far they fell, no matter many times they lost, no matter how much they failed, they would keep trying until the day they beat her. She loved those ponies and Fearful was decent competition. "Aaaw really, just for me? Celestia you shouldn't have done that! I feel so spoilt!" Replied Fearful, not missing a beat with a sarcastic retort, "But please let's cut this little game of *who trolls who* short for a while. I need to discuss something kind of personal and I’m going to need the three of you to help me, and when I say ‘three’ I mean you too Twilight." Everypony's ears perked up as they gave Fearful their full, undivided attention. Twilight was the most surprised of the three princesses. ‘What could he need help with that he would need me for?’ She thought, ‘It's very unusual of him to ask for help, even more so to ask me for help.’ "Please tell us whatever troubles you Fearful, we are always glad to help our subjects" Luna said intrigued. "Okay, here's the thing..." He paused for a minute before continuing, "I need a job!" "..." "..." "..." The room fell silent for what felt like hours, but in reality were just a couple minutes until Twilight decided to break the silence. "Excuse, I don’t think I heard you quite right. You said you needed what again?" Asked Twilight to the annoyed stallion. "A job Twilight, I need you three to help me find a damn job" Replied Fearful to the shocked Alicorn. "So, are you going to help me or not?" "Well, that is a rather odd request but I guess the three of us can come up with an appropriate occupation, right sister?" Luna asked her older sister, looking for some advice. "I don't have any ideas for a job right now, Lulu," Answered Celestia with confused look, "How about you, Twilight? Do you have any ideas?" She asked her student. "I’m afraid I don’t, Princess. Actually what kind of job would even be suited to do?" Asked Twilight. "You are lazier than the pony that drew the Neighpon's Flag!" Stated Twilight, receiving a giggle from both princesses.. "I don't know. Maybe a simple, stupid and boring job where I don't need to do too much shit to get some money... I will be a bucking librarian!" Fearful sarcastically said with an evil grin on his face. If Twilight was angry earlier, she was very VERY pissed off now as her mane burst into an uncontrollable inferno of dancing flames, her coat changed to a light cream color and her purple eyes turned into the most pure red color Fearful have ever seen in his life. "... I overdid it again, didn't I?" Fearful asked to the Princesses who just nodded in agreement, "Should I start running?" They just nodded again, "Good, can you play a funny, overused song they use for chase scenes?" "Sure thing Fearful" Celestia said while lighting her horn, starting the music with a spell. The moment the music started playing, Fearful Dream started running out the doors of the dining room, exiting into one the many hallways of the castle with ‘rage mode’ Twilight hot on his hooves. "I bet 10 bits that Twilight will catch him in 5 minutes," Celestia said nonchalantly to her sister. "Make it 20 bits and I bet 15 minutes sister" Replied Luna to her older sister. "Deal," They both said in unison before take another sip of their tea and waited patiently for the resulting outcome - 12 mimutes later - "Twilight, let me go right this instant!" Fearful said as he was dragged back towards the dining room. "You know, you have a great amount of stamina for a bookworm." "You are lucky I’m against physical violence, you know that?" Said Twilight to the exhausted Fearful. "I don't fear physical damage Twilight, but let me tell you: I was little scared since I already know what is going to happen next," Fearful said with a worried look This wasn't the first time Fearful got into trouble with Twilight and even when Fearful thought he was prepared for every kind of punishment a mare like Twilight had to offer… he wasn't prepared for what came after their first fiery encounter. A lecture. A six hour long lecture in a small room with nothing but a whiteboard, a desk with paper and pencils as well as Twilight with a malicious grin on her face. But what came next was by far the worst part of the entire experience. Just two simple words that when put together, struck fear into the hearts of even the bravest and most seasoned soldiers of the Royal Guard. Surprise Test... Fearful's body shivered at the mere thought of it, "So... many... pages!" He said to himself before noticing that they had already returned to the dining room where both Princess Celestia and Luna were still patiently waiting for them "How long did he last this time sister?" Asked Luna to Celestia. "Twelve minutes and 24 seconds" Answered Celestia. "I guess since you were closer you win this time, Lulu." "Huzzah! pay the bet dear sister!" Exclaimed Luna, very happy to have beaten her sister. "Okay, now that you two have had your fun at my expense, how about helping me out here?" Fearful asked both princesses as bits exchanged hooves. "Oh yes, that's right, sorry," Replied Celestia. "Luna and I were discussing some possible jobs that may be suitable for you but..." She paused for a few seconds. "I think your little joke with Twilight has given me a very good idea~" She said, ending with an evil grin on her face. It was a grin that Fearful knew far too well. "This is not going to end well," He lamented. 10:33 AM - Canterlot's High Class Sector - Lincolt Street "You can't be serious!!" Fearful said as he facehoofed "I’m serious Fearful. I’m so very serious!" Celestia said in a mocking tone.. "Well, you did actually say you wanted this job in the first place," Twilight said, trying to contain her desire to burst with laughter. "You certainly did Fearful Dream, we simply gave you the occupation you requested," Luna chuckled. In front of them was a very tall white building made of marble and gold with some of the details were coloured purple like the ones made for the rich ponies and the noble families. It was a building Twilight knew pretty well. It was the Canterlot Library, her old place of work and home from her fillyhood and early marehood. From the moment Twilight went to Ponyville, the library had been taken over by Twilight's parents: Twilight Velvet and Night Light. They - despite having other living arrangements - were always looking for young ponies with a passion for books or astrology to take care of it in their place. "You three do know I was joking when I said that, right?" Fearful asked the three Alicorn Princesses with a nervous look "Not anymore~" Twilight said in a sing-song tone, kind of amused at the situation’s brutal irony "Since you will be staying here from now on, we will be sure to send your belongings with a guard once you get used to the new surroundings. We suggest you explore the building since it is rather large and easy to get lost in. Who knows what you may find?" Luna said with a sincere smile "That is for you to find out Fearful Dream, we wish you good luck with your recently acquired job and we hope to see you again soon," Replied Luna. "Believe me Luna, you will. Sooner than you think," Celestia said with a smirk on her face. "Now what do you mean by that?" Asked Fearful to the older Alicorn. "Don't worry about it right now, you will know soon," She answered with a smile "Now that it's all settled," Twilight started with a smile. "Let me be the first pony to welcome you to your..." She was cut off by Fearful silently going inside the house/library and slamming the door right in her face and changing the ‘open’ sign to ‘closed’, "... New house," She said in a flat tone. "Don't worry about him Twilight, I can assure you he will be in a better mood sooner than you think," Celestia said with a smirk. "How can you be so sure of that?" Twilight asked, curious as to why her teacher spoke so confidently despite Fearful’s reaction to his new living arrangements. "I have some important things planned for him when the time comes and that's all I can tell you for now," Celestia answered, “We should be leaving, it is almost lunch time and I don't want to miss any of my vanilla cake," She said while walking away with a smile. Twilight looked back at the door of the library and back again at her teacher. "I hope you are right," She said before start following both princesses back to the castle. 11:05 AM - Inside of the Canterlot's Public Library After Fearful couldn't hear the princesses anymore, he let out sigh and went to explore his new house and occupation. It was quite a large place. It had to be of course as it was initially built to house a family of four nobles, consisting of three floors. The first floor was the library, a very large room composed of six or seven tables with chairs. The abundant bookcases were separated by category, genre, title and various other methods that only Twilight knew. There was also a relaxing room with sofas as well as a small table and a desk with some miscellaneous papers and important looking documents like the book record and empty library cards The second floor was comprised of the living room, the dining room with a kitchen, a trophy room, a bathroom and a small office that Fearful supposed was owned by Night Light at some point. And the third and final floor consisted of a simple hallway leading to the rooms of Velvet and Light, Twilight and Spike, Shining Armor, a guest room, a bathroom and a room that caught Fearful’s attention like a magpie at the jeweller’s: an observatory Of course, the place needed a little bit of cleaning but it was nothing that Fearful couldn't handle later. "This place is AWESOME!!" Fearful exclaimed happily, very excited about his new place before letting out a yawn. "Well, I guess a little nap can't do any damage," He said before walking towards the couch - which was the easiest thing to clean - where he could lie on and sleep for the moment. Fearful started getting comfy as he rested his head on one of the sides of the couch before muttering a few incoherent words as he closed his eyes and was ready to let his dreams take him to the promised land. "Finally some peace and ..." "SURPRISE!!!" Fearful eyes shot open at the sudden sound of voices of multiple ponies appearing out of seemingly nowhere "...Quiet," He said in a low and tired tone before being glomp-attacked by a soft, hyperactive and very familiar pink mass of energy. > The Party Can't Even Handle Me Right Now! > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Deepest Fears -The Party Can't Even Handle Me Right Now!- By: Vectorgameplay "Hi, I'm Pinkie Pie, don’t you remember me?" Asked the permanently cheerful pink pony. "Unfortunately, yes I do remember you," Fearful said as he recalled the events that transpired during his hospitalization in the castle, "Now please answer me this: what in the name of sanity are you doing here Pinkie?" Asked Fearful with a tired look on his face. "Well, I was just happily walking down the streets of Ponyville when *poof!*-" Pinkie said, acting out a scroll appearing out of nowhere with burst of confetti and streamers that too came out of nowhere - "- A letter from Princess Celestia appears in from on me and I was like ‘Whaaaat?’ But as I started reading the letter it said that you just got a new house and a new job and I was so superifically excited for you!! I started planning this huge party and invited all the ponies in Ponyville - and some ponies I knew here in Canterlot so they wouldn’t miss out - to give you a surprise party, were you surprised? Were you? Were you? "If I say yes, would you shut up?" Fearful asked while rubbing his temples at the sudden headache she was giving him. Pinkie Pie nodded in agreement, "Then yes, I was very surprised. Now if you excuse I'm going t- WHAT THE BUCK!!" Fearful yelled at the sudden appearance of a multitude of ponies in the room. "Where did all these ponies come from? The room was empty… like 10 seconds ago!!" Pinkie just giggled at Fearful’s reaction, "I brought them with me silly, you can't have a party with just two ponies. Now let's go, we need to introduce you to all of my friends so they can be your friends too. Oh, we will have so much fun Dreamy Wimmy, you’ll see!!” Pinkie said as she dragged Fearful off the couch. ‘I think I now know what true despair feels like,’ Fearful thought while sighing, ‘I just hope this doesn't take too lon... wait. What did she just call me? "Let's start first with my friends from Ponyville!" Pinkie happily said while dragging Fearful to the aforementioned crowd. "This here are my friends Berry Punch, Lyra Heartstrings, Sweetie Drops but we just call her Bon Bon, Colgate, the sisters Cloudchaser and Flitter and ..." - 1 and a half Hours Later - " ...And this here is Time Turner but he prefers us to call him The Doctor for some reason and those are my lovely sisters Marble Pie and Limestone Pie but I call them Blinkie and Inkie so our names sound alike and it makes it easier to remember and this pony here is..." "Okay, okay I get it!!!" Fearful cried out in pain and irritation for both being dragged for almost two hours and Pinkie’s non-stop chatter. "You have a lot of friends, now please stop. I can't feel my damn hind legs anymore." "But we still need to present you to the ones on Canterl..." Pinkie started to say but was quickly cut off by Fearful. "No!!" Fearful noticing the sudden raise of his voice, calmed himself just enough to not yell like that again. "No Pinkie is fine, I will meet then later" He said with a fake smile. "Okey-Dokey-Lokey, I will leave you alone so you can have fun by your own, but if you need anything just say my name and I will be here in less than you can say ‘Boom-Shakalaka!!’" Pinkie said before disappearing in a cloud of dust, confetti and streamers. ‘Okay Fearful calm down, remember the first rule when dealing with disasters: ‘Don't panic!’’ Fearful thought, trying to calm himself, ‘You just need a plan, that's it, and when this is all over you can finally lay down on that couch and take a "Faust knows" very deserved nap.’ ‘Now, for the current situation I'm in, I see three possible options,’ He thought as he began to make a mental list: 1- Get the buck out of here and run as fast as I can until I reach the end of the planet surface,’ He shook his head "Not a good option since Pinkie would probably notice my absence and would start looking for me and no matter how far I run, I have the feeling she will find me. Which is pretty scary!" He muttered to himself. 2- Kick them out and risk to not only piss off a whole town and part of Canterlot but Pinkie Pie as well,’ He shook his head vehemently to discard the thought. "That’s actually an even worse idea. If one happy Pinkie is already dangerous to my health, an angry Pinkie would be... nope, I don't what to find out!” He cringed at the thought of what an angry Pinkie Pie could be capable of, “So I guess the best choice I have is..." 3- Just be a stallion and roll with it,’ He smirked slightly and nodded his head. "Yeah, that's it! If I know anything about Pinkie - besides that she belongs in an insane asylum - is that she won't stop until she is sure that everypony is happy, so I just need to stay calm and everything will work itself out eventually." After he was sure that the best decision was to calm down and let things go the way they were currently going, he sighed and went to the couch to sit and wait for the party to eventually come to an end. "What's the worst thing that can happen?" He said with a slight cheer in his voice. - 4 Hours Later - "I should really stop saying that," Fearful muttered irritably. After surviving the many games and activities Pinkie Pie had planned which also included the crowd of ponies who wanted to ‘socialize’ with him, the multiple pranks created by the party mare herself, the extreme sugar overdose he was forced to eat, the cupcake war and for some reason being hit by some kind of small blue cannon charged with confetti… the party finally – and thankfully – ended. "Good bye everypony, thanks for coming, see you all at the next party!!" Pinkie said cheerfully as the ponies happily left the Library, "Well Dreamy Wimmy did you enjoy the party? Didja?" "If by ‘enjoy’ you mean been trolled with hot sauce in the punch, being almost stabbed while playing ‘Pin the tail on the pony’ by some Pokey Pierce, eat an extremely unhealthy quantity of sweets that should give me bellyache for centuries, being attacked by cupcakes and have the feeling that one of the guests slapped my flank..." Fearful said as he laid on the library’s cold floor, "Then yes I did enjoy it, but I'm glad it's over." "Of course it’s over, we have already done about one thousand words just talking about the party, that's why we used the four hour time-skip so that we could have this entire chapter about it, silly!" " ...What the buck are you talking about, Pinkie?" Fearful asked, very confused by Pinkie Pie’s statement. "Nothing~" Pinkie said in an almost singing tone while bouncing to the door to exit the Library with Fearful just behind her, "And remember, if you want to throw a party again just call me and Aunty Pinkie will take care of absolutely everything!" "Sure Pinkie, I will keep that in mind," Fearful said as he closed the door in the mare’s face, leaving him alone again in the big Library. "Not in a billion years," He said under his breath in a flat tone as he slowly walked back to the couch so he could finally have his sleep... "Oh right, I almost forgot!!" Pinkie said as she suddenly opened the door. "Faust Damn it, I was so close!" Fearful yelled in frustration. "Princess Celestia wants to see you tomorrow at twelve o' clock sharp. She said she has a very VERY VERY super duper important matter to discuss with you, so you better not keep her waiting," She said with her usual impossibly wide grin." "Why didn't you tell me this earlier? You had plenty of time, like while you were dragging me against my will for almost two hours would have given you ample opportunities to bring it up!" He said exasperatedly "Nope, I couldn't, she told me specifically to tell you ten seconds after everypony left the party!" Replied Pinkie Pie with a smile. " ...Why didn't I see that coming?" Fearful asked himself before closing - and this time locking - the door so a certain mare couldn't interrupt him again.. "This had better be important Celestia because if you are making me lose my time with just another prank, I swear I will bucking kick you where the sun doesn't shine," Fearful said with an angry expression.. "..." "Well, no, actually for her it always shines there because she has a cutie mark of a sun on each side!" "..." "And I just noticed I'm speaking to myself!" "..." "Buck you Pinkie Pie!" Fearful said with more of a laughing tone instead of an angry one with a smile before taking - and this time, for real - his spot on the couch for his oh so overdue sleep. "I better take the opportunity to rest now that I finally have the time," He said thoughtfully, "I wonder what the Princess wants to discuss with me tomorrow? …Ahh buck it! I'm sure it's nothing life-threatening. I have more important things to think about." ‘Tomorrow is my first day of work as a bucking librarian... May whatever deity out there have mercy of my poor soul,’ Fearful thought before sleep finally overtook him.
