When a long forgotten stallion (King Elementra) breaks free from his imprisonment, Canterlot and all of Equestria is endangered by an unknown force, now the mane 6 Cadence and Shining and Discord are assigned to a task, using their magic together to defend against this new returning, long forgotten nightmare (Cover art not mine! The day had passed, and the night had risen above the land, protected by the majestic Princess Luna, as this regal Princess watched the night and prepared for any nightmare occurring in any of the little fillies and colts minds as they slept softly and peacefully in their beds, when she was suddenly greeted by a new and dark growling voice.
"Hmmm... Canterlot... Equestria... Control... MINE!!!" As the voice screeched and crackled in her mind the majestic Princess of the night had been brought to the ground, this was no filly or colts nightmare. As she remembered the voice and assumed it as King Sombra, but there was something different about it, Luna rose to her hooves and shook of her short tick as she trotted inside to Celestia's bed chambers and softly shook her big sisters shoulder and whispered softly waking her. "Psst... Sister? Tia? Sister..." A whispering soft and tranquil voice entered Celestia's head as she awoke from her slumber. "Oh... Is it morning already sister Luna?... Oh, no, what is it that you have woken me for sister?" Celestia asked with her quiet sleepy voice.
"I'm sorry Tia... B..But, there is something... Something you need to hear for yourself." And as the words ran from her mouth, Luna's horn began to glow and she tilted her towards her sisters horn transmitting the recent voice she had heard.
"Hmmm... Canterlot... Equestria... Control... MINE!!!" Repeated again for the regal sisters, and as Celestia heard that voice, her eyes widened, her wings spread, and her head went back as did she, backing away and breathing heavily.
"Sister what is wrong?" Asked Luna with a worried tone to her voice. Celestia said nothing as she rose her head to perform a spell, a defence barrier to the castle and all the way to ponyville and beyond the Everfree, but as her horn emitted the beam of light she heard the voice for herself, a voice like King Sombra and Discord's voices merged together.
"CELESTIA!!!!" She was thrown to the ground and her spell depleted as the voice roared as if in a colosseum, echoing in her head almost causing an instant migraine.
"SISTER!" Yelled Princess Luna as she rushed to Celestia's aid. "Sister are you ok!?" Asked Luna dropping to the floor, to her sister.
"Luna, get Twilight and her friends, Cadence and Shining Armour, and Discord, we need the Elements of Harmony which Twilight has, and the strength of Love which Cadence and Shining Armour have, and of course Discord's powerful magic..." "But Tia... It's the middle of the night!" Said Luna a bit confused.
"Luna!! There is no time, we have to act fast, ill explain to you what is wrong when you get back, send the guards for Discord, send Philomena for Cadence and Shining, and access Twilight and get her to get her friends to Canterlot ASAP!" Celestia commanded her sister, and as Luna nodded and galloped out of the castle Celestia rose to her hooves and onto her bed. "How did you return?" She whispered softly to herself.
A few hours had passed before anyone had arrived, but surely enough in one fell swoop, 11 Ponies and Discord galloped ingot he great hall and saw Princess Celestia standing firmly in front of the royal thrones. And Twilight Sparkle stepped forward to speak.
"You asked for us Princess? In dire emergency?" Worried Twilight spoke softly still a bit weary from the time of morning.
"Yes... I'm sorry Everypony for calling upon you at this time of the morning... But I'm afraid we have a huge problem. My sister and myself have both received a strong message from a stallion that was locked away from the world forever, locked far beneath Equestria for what he had done, and was imprisoned by where the Crystal Empire was before in returned, the love that the Empire creates had resealed his prison beneath the land... But it appears that it wasn't as strong as King Sombra's hatred spells, and he is breaking free..." Celestia had been swiftly interrupted by Luna.
"Sister? How come I don't remember a single bit of this." Luna, confused stared at her sister with concern
"Well... I was getting to that, you were just a small filly, when I had to do this, and remember we have almost 40 years between us, as we don't age lie, other ponies" Luna satisfied with the answer Celestia was pleased, she had noticed Twilight was about to interrupt, but she responded to the question... She already knew what it was.
"No Twilight... This was in none of your books, I have erased his existence from the planet, my parents and I are the only ponies that know of him... The stallions name is King Elementera, he was the Mage, that coasted the elements of Equestria, older than the great Starswirl the Bearded, he was a humble pony, until the power of his magic rose to him and he began to use it for evil, much like you discord, although... His magic has a far greater force to it, he once ruled Equestria, alongside my mother and father, but resentment grew on his capabilities, he become consumed by control and overthrew my parents to rule on his own accord." Twilight seeming worried managed to sneak in a question in Princess Celestia's pause.
"But... Princess? What has this got to do with us?" Celestia bowed her head before she spoke
"This involves all of you, the Elements of Harmony, Cadence's and Shining's love, and Discord's magic strength. I can't cast a protection spell anymore, he has disabled my ability, but Shining Armour and Cadence can conjure a protection spell, Discord, you can at least stop him if the protection spell fades or is broken, and Twilight, you and your friends can reinforce the barrier, but I'm sorry I cannot be of use here, but King Elementra must not reach Canterlot!" Celestia spoke with upmost strength and force, she knew that if he were to reach the kingdom that Equestria would be taken and enslaved. "I'm sorry to ask so much of you... But surely you all can see the danger of this pony?"
"Of course we can ya' royal highness..." Said Applejack "... But can you be sure this will all work?"
Princess Celestia lowered her head and sighed. "No Applejack... I can't be sure, but we have nothing to lose"
Suddenly, a loud roaring growl echoed through the great hall. "MMMM... CAN-TER--- LOT!!!!!!" The voice was broken and slow, but roaring and loud.
Everypony shivered as the voice reversed and echoed from the marble walls. "W.. W... What was that Princess?" Asked Twilight as she shook and shivered from the voice.
"That my dear, was the voice of the nightmare that is quickly approaching Canterlot, we must stop him at all costs!" Commanded Princess Luna. "All ponies, get ready for an all out fight!" And with swift movements, Cadence and Shining Armour conjured their spell and as Everypony looked out the window of the hall, in the distant mountains, they saw a silhouetted stallion wearing a hood blowing swiftly in the wind, this was the beginning of a new chapter of their lives.
I apolagise for the wait on this Chapter... But I haven't been well, I have lost friends dear to me, and I just haven't had time... But all that aside I will be finishing the next chapter and posting soon

As everypony gazed at the silhouetted figure on the mountain side, they saw a spark glint from what seemed to have been a devilish grin, and with a swift flick of his head, he reared up and kicked up his front hooves and galloped further up the snow covered mountain, quickly disappearing behind the mountains in front.
"Sister?... That... That was him wasn't it?" Asked Luna with a frightened tone in her voice. With every other pony shaking from not only the icy cold wind of a winter night, but from the fear that this may be a harder test than they all thought.
"It appears so dearest Luna..." Celestia paused. "... Everypony, dig in, this will be a long fight!" As she had finished talking, another roar echoed though the walls.
"Get Ready... Tonight might be your last!" As the voice eerily echoed loudly through the walls it finished with a sadistic, evil, roaring laugh and in the distance a beacon and large flash of multiple shades of dark colours beamed over the palace as the silhouetted stallion rose upon the sky and cast a spell as his head rose, his hood flew back and his eyes beamed strongly, a dark and strong blue, as the other was a demonic sided red, his wings flapped forwards as the thunder clapped, and the lightning cracked the sky. As the darkness flew across Canterlot, Cadence and Shining Armour rose their head together and forced their love barrier up and through the walls, reinforcing their spell, and protecting Canterlot. Applejack, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie, all placed their Elements Of Harmony around their neck and Twilight positioned her tiara upon her head.
Darkness and roaring thunder claps covered the castle as the wind grew more fierce, with one final clap of thunder the stallion in the distance flapped his wings toward the castle, sending a shock wave toward the protective barrier, and in one final flick of his head he cast a darkness spell into the shock wave sending it into the barrier, shattering it and blowing Everypony across the room and into the wall. As they got up a bit shaken from the massive wave of thunder they moved towards the windows to see what had happened, as they looked out of the arched window, they all gasped and spoke in sync. Shining Armour and Cadence had begun to recreate their barrier, but it was too late...
"Um... Where did he go!?" Everypony looked at each other in extreme fear, the icy cold winter storm had become much stronger and was blasting through the windows, and as they all turned back to the window, a sudden dark and fiery explosion blasted the barricaded doors to the room down and before them all, stood a strong black and grey coated stallion in a hood. The strong figured stallion ripped off his hood showing him in full figure, he was a black and dark metallic grey, with a a fluorescent dark purple and black flowing mane and tail, and without his hood it showed his silver and carbon fibre steel crest, shoes, and crown. Suddenly he lifted his head and beamed his glowing, savage grin and opened his eyes and let out an evil crazed, maniacal laugh. Everypony had dropped as the doors shattered and sent another shock wave into them and sent them across the floor. The mysterious stallion stood strong and held himself in a battle stance. As the ponies rose the stallion roared again.
Discord rose to his feet and flicked his fingers sending a fire ball towards the King, but in a swift flick of his wings he sent it backwards with double its magnitude, with quick thinking Discord, snapped his fingers again and sent a gust of wind blowing the fire back and putting it out.
"Listen buddy, I don't know who you are... But chaos is my thing..." Discord was quickly interrupting as Twilight yelled.
"Ponies, positions... Lets just finish this" King Furverus had a huge smile on his face as this happened.
As the six assembled, Luna and Celestia flew up and aimed their horns at Twilights Tiara, The six moved together and their elements began to glow, they shot out their rainbow of harmony, at equal points Luna and Celestia shot their dark magic powers towards the tiara crossing harmony with darkness and giving a stronger force, Discord flicked his fingers and sent another protection spell to the energy, and finally, Shining and Cadence sent their spell towards him in a shock wave, completely encasing the black stallion in a strong diamond force field. Leaning back, Everypony sighed in relief that they had stopped him... For now.
As Everypony cheered in happiness, King Furverus' horn began to glow a metallic purple as the diamond case fogged up... Applejack was spinning in joy, until she noticed what was happening and she froze, mouth agape and eyes widened.
"Uh.. Guys, we have a problem..." Everypony looked and saw the diamond fogging and a pulsating metallic dark purple glowing on his horn. They could do nothing but watch and wait for what was coming. As more thunder and lightning approached Canterlot the prison began to crack until it had shattered under a large explosion and a thunder clap.
"Hahahaha" King Furverus let out a strong maniacal laugh, "You Really think that would've stopped me... Stupid foals!!!"
He walked over towards Twilight and used his magic to pick her up and suspend her in mid-air removing her element and examining it closely before he spoke.
"Hmmm... I see these are still I'm good condition... Your tactics were pathetic. Wouldn't you have thought that it would've been more effective to stop me with something I didn't create." Dropping Twilight on her rump, he moved towards Princess Celestia, "Hmm, my little Tia, oh now I missed you my sweet little girl." He said still expressionless but he ran his hoof across her face, as Celestia he had his hoof bashed away. Raising is eyebrow, he move across to Princess Luna, "Oh... Who might we have here?"
"Thy name is Princess Luna, guardian and ruler of thee night!" Addressing him in the full Canterlot voice.
"Well... I must say, thy Luna, thou art a very pretty sight." In saying that he leant in and kissed her softly on the lips before moving all the way on to Discord.
"And... Who? Do we have here?" He asked confused and shocked, Discord replied with a single flick of his fingers, subsided by a counter blast of darkness by the horn of the stallion throwing the Draconquess flying. "Foal! What an imbecilic move!" He paused grunting before turning to the ponies and speaking in an extremely condescending tone. "Listen, I came back hear, my heart fuelled with vengeance, and I will leave with that feeling fulfilled. Now, you may all surrender under my wings, or you can choose to fight your way out... Or die trying... The choice is yours" growling fiercely, he was interrupted by Celestia's roaring voice.
"We will never surrender to you, you will not win!"
The dark lord spoke again in a laughable way
"Let the games begin then!" With a dark shot he flew away disappearing into the night.
