It was supposed to be a gag at the fact that not only would Fluttershy have a whole mystical land in her tail, it would also be joined by a whole apple orchard, all contained in one impossibly small space. Since I revealed that Flutterland also stretched on for "miles" though, this gag kinda falls flat in retrospect, but oh well.

I would love to see the CMC, Spike and their friends like Snips, Snails, Archer, Rumble, Twist and other fillies and colts go into Fluttershy's tail as an adventure, that would make for an awesome story.

As a plotline for a sequel never really materialized, I have toyed with the idea of doing instead a sort of "in-between-quel" that retells the story from the CMC's point of view, and tell of their adventure in Flutterland...though it'd be a tale that would probably be less comedy and more action/adventure.
But I admit it's not a high priority right at the moment. This really was a sort of throwaway fanfic idea, and one I didn't expect to seriously explore too much further. Sure, a follow-up of some sort's still on the table, but I don't know when I'll get to it, if I ever do.
