A sequel of "Be Like You." Spitfire calls Rainbow Dash into her office to give her some news. Long after the greatest flyer in all of Equestria has achieved everything she ever dreamed, an echo still resounds.

The feels escaped from their cage again, Manny. What are you gonna do about that?:trixieshiftright:
Seriously, though, the display of emotion solicited from Dash by Spitfire is one of the rare ones you don't see from the (for lack of a better term) Blue Blur (Sega can sue the shit out of me for all I care :rainbowlaugh:). Suffice it to say, it's a little refreshing, to be able to see Dash from a different, more solemn and revering perspective, as well as the perspective of Spitfire. Very well done, Manny. Very well done indeed.:raritystarry::pinkiesmile::ajsmug::yay::rainbowkiss:

Bang on. The poignancy of this small chapter after its prequel is just bang on perfect.

Well, thank you for reading both this and "Be Like You." If you read "Ghosts of Gods" through to its end, you'll find the final upshot of these two stories. I'm glad you enjoyed them.

This story and "Be Like You" really are amazing companion pieces. At first I thought that Spitfire had a lot of respect for Rainbow Dash, but her lines about envy threw me off. I had to re-read a few parts to gain the insight into Spits' character that you intended.

I loved Spitfire's reaction to Rainbow Dash saying that she "stumbled into" being a national hero, icon, and close friend to some of the most famous and influential ponies of the land. You could write an entire fic about her internal monologue at that moment! Someone who worked as hard as she did only to (in her opinion) fail to achieve anything of note, being told that many of the grand accomplishments of "The Rainbow Dash" were a fluke!

I'm amazed that you condensed her hiding her anger, envy, and frustration at that into one sentence! Bravo. I think the fic ended perfectly, but I do want to see Spitfire's reaction to RD's final questions. Is she moved by Rainbow's sincerity? Does she feel even more bitter that she isn't acting like the pony that Rainbow looks up to?

Even without more info about Rainbow it can be loosely assumed that she continued to be the pony that Scootaloo looked up to, but without reading "Ghost of Gods" this fic doesn't "conclude" narratively.

Speaking of, where can I find "Ghost of Gods"? Did you take it down?

Lastly, this fic reminded me a lot of a fic from early in FiM fandom, Moonspire Run. That was before I caught on to Spitfire's bitterness in this story though. Really they don't have much in common.

That was so sweet

Fantastic story with some great little nuances. I have to say I much preferred this to Be Like You, but then I always preferred Spitfire to Scootaloo, and I think her introspective side is very interesting.

Think you may be missing a speech mark here though:

β€œMe?” Spitfire laughed. Rainbow Dash's hero? The Rainbow Dash? Sonic Rainboom, Element of Loyalty? Friend of Princess Twilight Sparkle? That Rainbow Dash?”
