Our decisions in these moments define us; we show ourselves and the world what ideals we hold in high value.
This is the story of Spike's fall. When he nearly lost the one he loved the most, and the decisions he made as a result.

Risking his life for rarity's wellbeing, even though she is banged up it sure beats being dead! I would know.
I've had this idea ever sense I saw Secret of my Excess back in season two, and I've always wondered what would have happened if Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash hadn't been able to catch them in time. This is my take on the idea, and I found it a lot harder to write then I'd thought it would. I found my self being really careful with my writing. The more serious tone of the story makes little mistakes much more obvious. I'm honestly not sure my writing style is fitted to a story this dark in nature. I don't know let me know what you think.

2402691originaly I'd intended to but I don't think I will, partly because this is taking me so lg to write but mostly because I'm going to go into What Rarity's thoughts and feelings were later on so doing it now would add nothing to the story.
I give spike credit for telling and basically forcing rainbow to save rarity instead of him. He is now the element of sacrifice, willing to put it all on the line to help the ones he holds dearly.

I think the word you were looking for might be losing. Loosening is the opposite of tightening.

Hurrah, an update! I hope the M6 don't immediately set out to find Spike, let's draw out the angst! And please don't use the tired routine where Rarity sees the note Spike wrote about loving her and then suddenly realizes all her hidden feelings for the dragon and then passionately declares she's going to find him no matter what.
Very sad ending to this chapter.
