It's been years since any major events have taken place in Equestria. things like Nightmare Moon and the Ursa Major are all now distant memories. however the Cutie Mark crusaders have found themselves unlocking a terrible creature from his tomb once again... but this time he doesn't seem to want to put up a fight.

a quick little story based off a concept discussed with a friend of mine... i only wish i could recall which one...

EDIT 1/30 Wow! Such a great response from everyone! hehe, Thanks!: I wasn't really planning on doing more with this story... but if you all like it so much, i may just be tempted to do so ^^ hehe

Genius sir, simply genius.

Absolutely amazing. I really enjoy this twist on the view of Discord.

That's all we get? You tease, sir!

I just can´t describe how awesome this story is.
Also, tilted trees makes ponies see dancing buffaloe?
(Will there be a sequel, or it´s only an open ending?)

I wasn't PLANNING on continuing it from here, it was merely an idea me and a friend discussed and i decided to write it down... the only thing i could really think of doing with this now is to have the CMC come back later, free him, start up a band of rebels, and then they find themselves going against Celestia and her followers... including the mane six... which... sounds kinda cool, actually, hehe... But i'm not entirely certain of the best route to take with it...

A clever twist on Discord, spoiled badly by yet another Tyrant Celestia.

These particular plots have been covered by TVTropes in multiple entries. Sympathy for the Devil, God is Evil, Satan is Good, Rage Against the Heavens, ....
It's that perverse attribute of human nature to coddle and lionize rebelliousness, to tear down the good, to go rifling through the trash looking for proof of corruption where there is none. That inability to believe that anything or anyone is actually GOOD, or to imagine that everyone is just as corrupt and rotten as we fear ourselves to be.

You want to challenge yourself? Here's a real challenge. Take the Discord you've invented in THIS story, and put him in a story where Celestia ISN'T the villain of the piece, or even a misguided Knight Templar. Let him be the misunderstood advocate of freedom and nature, but let her be the benevolent ruler she is in canon at the same time. Accomplish THAT, and you'll have something epic.

Tyrant Celestia is a bit overplayed but I love the take on Discord. Very nice.:raritywink:
