When Twilight is sorting through her brother's old things she finds his old N64. In the box is also an unforgettable videogame "007 Goldenpony". Though at first she is skeptical about the game, she soon finds it hard to stop playing the violent videogame. Hilarity ensues.

Anyone who played this game as a kid had a wicked childhood and we will all remember that classic game. So I decided to make a story where Twilight goes though all the frustration and funny quips we all remember from 007 Golden Eye for the Nintendo64

Chapters (10)

Man, I remember that game. I always shot the general guy on the train.

This brings so many memories to fro. Oh Oddjob...such sweet death we dealt. Oh yah James was there too. Please continue.

Ah yes Goldeneye for the Nintendo 64 still one of the best movie based video games of all time. If only Rare weren't owned by Microsoft or a deal could reached to let classic Goldeneye return. Oh well there's always the original and roms. :pinkiehappy:

Sadly because I was born in 1994 I never got the chance to own a Nintendo 64 although I had a least two cousins who did and I played a little bit of Goldeneye then along with some other classic games.

Speaking of James Bond the Oscars just payed tribute to him with a montage of various scenes from all of his movies set to a remix of the Bond Theme. And to top it off Shirley Bassey herself showed up and performed "Goldfinger".

2175259 Well it's decent but it's not quite the same. I'm stuck on the final stage where you have to protect Natlya as she hacks. It's insanely hard because you don't have unlimited time. The worst part is that it wasn't in the original game.

Dear princess celestia. I learned today that friendship is over rated, sitting in a dark room with video games is way more entertaining. Friendship is for noobs. Your faithful mlg student, twilight sparkle.

As someone who doesn't really like the N64 game (face it, it's aged poorly), I can confirm that the Wii game is also really good and certainly worth playing.

Ah yes the mission failed scene. Back when video games actually made you like feel dirt for losing. :twilightoops:

Also Twilight called Alec one of the good guys. Well just wait until she gets to the last few levels and learns the truth. :twistnerd:

2180250 Ah yes Oddjob, the little guy who you couldn't hit unless you aimed down which was a pain to do. It was a surefire way to ruin a friendship. :facehoof:

she did better than i did when i first tried it out. i was stuck at the truck part where it went through the doors on the first level, couldn't figure out what button makes the door open.

Ahhh goldeneye how many hours I wasted on you it's good to see you old friend

Ah yes Natalya. Even in the original she was annoying as heck. That's the one aspect of the game that will drive you to anger. And turst me when I say she's just as annoying in the Wii remake.

Sounds like Twilight got gamer groceries.

He he Twilight wishes she could a Bond Girl. Too bad Bond never hooks up with any of the girls he teams up with. :rainbowlaugh:

Also that beach scene sounds like the one in "Casion Royale" (The offical one with Daniel Craig). :twistnerd:

No! :pinkiegasp: You just had to pick Oddjob didn't you Pinkie Pie?! :facehoof:

What no notes about how Oddjob was impossible to kill without aiming down which was a pain to do as a result of the aiming controls? :rainbowhuh:

Oddjob, the character that ended friendships.

Of course Angel Bunny would be Oddjob. :rainbowlaugh:

I feel bad for laughing at Spike's dream :pinkiesad2:

2203072 no-no, it's a comedy. I hate those people who are like "I gave my five year old child Grand Theft Auto and it made him violent" well hey, there's a game rating for a reason:rainbowlaugh:

2203418 Well SpikexScootaloo has picked up a little bit.

Yes Oddjob did have that hat but I don't know if he could throw it in Goldeneye. He could throw i in Nightfire where he was a lot less of a pain because the aiming controls were better and there were a lot more powerful guns and tons of sniper rifles for head shots (which due to his small size he was really vulnerable to). To make up it for his hat if it made contact with someone was a one hit kill regardless.:twistnerd:

Also that's the one good thing that came out of Moonraker. The laser. Everything else was just like the previous film but largely boiled down to Bond in Space and Bond meets Star Wars.

Video games can teach you something from time to time :ajsmug:

Ah yes Goldeneye was highly addictive. If you had friends you were spending all your free time playing that game. Oh what I wouldn't give to be able to buy a Nintendo 64 and purchase Goldeneye or have the original come to the Wii Virtual Consol and X-Box Arcade.

2204423 because... rigth I'll have to change that... good eye

2204423 Chapter 9 was supposed to be called My Precious but somehow I managed to screw it up:twilightblush:

Perhaps you should make a sequel involving Rarity becoming adicted to it. Or perhaps have a sequel about Twilight discovering the James Pony Movies. :rainbowlaugh:

i'll admit... Goldeneye had some levels that felt... pretty eerie that it made me put down the controller for a bit. One was the depot level, then the other was the snow level but at night... just something about it felt off putting...

and then Twilight decides, "Screw this" and buys a modern day console and plays online.

hehehehe I know what they are #gameratwork

I really I need to fix my n64 (video is busted) I really wanna play goldeneye and perfect dark again.... Now there's an idea:yay:

There's no way in hell, that Spike was able to throw a dark like a throwing knife.
It's like trying to play basketball with a soccer ball.

I can't even imagine what would happen if the mane six played mario kart...
I guess they'd just...play until they die.

The controller was crazy. I think one of my friends had a controller simular to the cube controller for the N64, but still with the C +. Anyways, I look forward to reading the rest of it later.

Oh god, I could hear the music in my head...

A great story, but it kind of got weird at the end. Makes me want to bust you my N64 for some action again.

I didn't play this game as a kick.....:ajsleepy: BBBBUUUUTTT I did play so many other gams like Jet Force Gemini, conkry bad fur day, and so many M games wean i was 7 and i play RE2

If gold pony gave spike nightmares I wonder what deed space would do to him.

2177217 You did have to protect Natalya! Remember when she was stood infront of screen and you had soldies coming from stairs left and right, as well as THROUGH the glass to the sides????

Oh an the wii re-make? (Personal opinion: CRAAAAAAP)

3218188 Oh I didn't know that because I've never played the original.

Am I really that bad when I play videogames.

If only i knew how to lower the sensitivity and aim and shoot and move.:derpytongue2:

2174333 Yes, for FPS games it was perfect. Though my personal favorite is the Playstation controller.

ah i remember this game. i just never finished it for some reason, to hard for me if i recall :fluttercry:

How did I find myself here.

Either way, a fantastic story that certainly gives you a kick :rainbowlaugh: And I see I'm the first commenter in over three years! Hah!

I tip my hat to you, author. :rainbowlaugh:

Allons-y!
