Celestia is the ultimate ruler of Equestria, but why? And how does her ruling work in practice? Also, her relationship to Luna needs if not even demands a more thorough analysis. I am interested in the philosophical parts of all Equestria along with the politics of the ponies and this chapter is an example of how to try and speak of these themes in the context of MLP: FIM.

Yep not my cup of tea. Can see this going one of two ways. Discord and Luna pretty much wipe Celestia of the face of the planet or they team up with Twilight and use the elements to banish her to the sun. I don't like fics like this. Celestia is no better than Nightmare Moon or Discord here.

Thanks for the comment. Actually, nothing as drastic as you mentioned doesn't happen in this story, although I like your idea of banishing Celestia to the sun. Perhaps I shall write a fic about that someday.
To be frank, I don't believe Celestia and Nightmare Moon are that different, not at least in what they want. Both seek to control Equestria and shape it as they please. Celestia merely understand better the world she wished to rule, she is a more subtle monarch. Some associate this subtlety with Good, but this is only a matter of perspective, I believe.
Discord, on the other hoof, is a much more different character than Celestia. He only resembles her because he makes mockery of her, like he makes mockery of everypony else, by turning their natures against them. Discord is like the Joker in Batman universe: He presents himself as the caricature of the protagonist. The reason Discord tried to control and manipulate the Mane 6 was because Celestia does this all the time and he wanted to make fun of this tendency. That is only my interpretation, of course.

Makes me wanna hurt her and I never wanna do that to Celestia so I stay away from stuff like this.This has nothing to do with you or your writing skills just to let everybody know.
