The Borg are an excellent antagonist and I didn't want to mess with sucess. That being said, I did try to make them different, namely try to give them some degree of indivuduality insead of the Borg which have none, save in the queens. So they are kind of like the replicants from Stargate or the Geth from Mass Effect, but with the more Borg/Dalek style 'conquer all life' vibe.
