Dexter in Ponyville. Why hasn't anybody done this before? I love it so far
*whistles* Wow. I can tell this is gonna be good, in some strange dark murderous way. I don't watch Dexter, but I know enough about it to be able to say....Good job. You've just gotten a tracker.

Son of a . . . I was on the fence about writing a Dexter fic myself, only with Twilight as Dexter and the rest of the cast working on the police force. So I swing by here and search for Dexter to see if it's been done. And it turns out someone already started one TODAY. There goes my plan. Well, I'm gonna to ahead and read this one anyway.
I like what I see.

Ah, the adventures of Dexter pony. Y'know, I was a bit worried that this wouldn't involve the main cast in some way (That'd it be set in Manehattan), but a smile made it's way on my face when I read:
"Welcome to Ponyville."
And Dexter is going to have a bit of a surprise party for him. Can't wait to see how that goes. Keep up the awesome work!

When you say rushed,do you mean some parts are hastily written and don't read that well, or that I don't give certain elements or plot progressions enough attention.

The latter one. The fact that one of the first ponies Dexter bumps into happens to be a killer and that he finds it out in such a short time is a bit unrealistic. I understand that you wanted to put some action early on. You could have given her more noticeable characteristics that would have made Dexter's interest more justified.
Of course, this will be more dificult unless Dexter finds his way into the police or something. It seems in every story, the protagonist has something, either a convinient job or skill, that allows him/her to find killers (or even kill others) without being caught. If you wish, you can also NOT do this in order to give a completely different vibe to the story, even if it makes you relinquish longer mysteries or hunts.
I will be patiently waiting for the next update.

...Jokes aside, this was actually incredibly good. The characters, the way the mane six was introduced... I didn't feel like anything was too much or too little, it was just right. Worth the wait.
Did notice something, though, that you might want to fix ASAP:
That was, fortunately, the only thing that made me pause and scratch my head. "'Dark blue' what?". There were other less minor errors here and there, but nothing major. All it needs is some polish and a pre-reader, and you've got yourself a shining, clear diamond of a story.
