Dusk Breaker, eldest brother to both Shining Armour and Twilight Sparkle, comes into contact with a strange organism that has crash landed in the Everfree Forest. This organism is none other then a ever morphing species widely known in the Koprulu sector as The Zerg. Millions of terrible creatures capable of mass destruction, born straight from nightmares and all guided by a single Hive Mind.
His legacy is not of what he is meant to destroy and consume but to keep the delicate balance between his new responsibilities of the Zerg Hive Mind and his personal life.
Author's Notes: I'll try to keep gore descriptions minimal although to be safe I applied the tag. For those of you who are fans of Starcraft, please bare with me especially on the small details. I'm trying to make this understandable for both experienced and the non-acquainted.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who checks all the lore stuff in the campaign(the readable content on the zerg biosample, in which Stetman says that the sample plays dead when he enters the lab) I'm really digging the charackter development. Dusk went from - I hate my life, please leave me alone or kill me! - to - NOpony, Ah say NOpony, not mah powerful sister, not even the even more powerful princesses are gonna stop me from getting mah D wet tonight!

One suggestion. "Zerg pony" sounds a bit cliche. What do you think of "Infestacorn"? Or, oh, oh, oh I know! "The Horned King!" Get it?
Damn I was just hit by an idea. I can see a sequel to the story. Dusk is pretty much raising a new strand of the Swarm. How does this idea sound. In the continuation we go into HotS, where a war is waged for the control over the ENTIRE Swarm. The participants are Kerrigan, her brood mothers and Dusk/or his children maybe?

2134604 Infesting Flutters came from the fact that she has animal commanding, and diamond dogs came from logic, if gems=minerals then they have loads of stuff for the swarm. I always liked the Zerg, and when you think about it, even a zergling could be big trouble for the ponies. A marine fires .50 cal bullets, and in 3-round bursts. That comes out to 2 damage a bullet, or 16 bullets to stop a zergling. Ponies would most likely have trouble equaling that unless they are unicorns, which are the only defense the ponies could have against the Zerg that would be more then a meat shield. Although a rainbooms effects would be interesting on mutalisks and brood lords.
2135551 Interesting theory. The purpouse of infesting Fluttershy is pretty obvious, she has great knowledge of the flora and fauna of the forest. Diamond dogs sounds as a decent idea to infest. Actually the gaus rifle the marines use fires 47 cal bullets. And if we look at it lore wise, not ingame it can take a marine a full clip of bulets, or just one bullet, depending on where he will hit the zergling. A bulled between the eyes stops it dead, but the vital organs are quite protected inside the torso, so it would require more firepower to kill it. Unicorns would probably manage to deffend against zerg, but they would need to use magic on Celestia's level. Also i do agree, it would be interesting to see the effect of a SRB on zerg flyers.

Ooooh, those Diamond Dogs are effed beyond belief. But this is an interesting point with the gryphons and maybe even dragons. They are not going to like the thought of a new, extremely dangerous species on the planet.

I want to see the Zerg mutilate some stuff and if you could mutate the Diamond Dogs then you have some epic miners ready to fuel the swarm. Also I wonder what Fluttershy thinks of the Zerg hunting all the wildlife of Everfree.
I really like this fic a lot. The story is well thought out and the characters are believable. What i wonder is how you can make hydralisks so early in the fic. How many drones does Dusk command? further more, don't you have to build a hydralisk den for him to morph hydralisks?
other than that, i really like this. I congragulate you
