226,833 words. That’s how long this story was. Wow.
When I first started this project way back in January, I knew I wanted it to be even bigger and better than Of Skies Long Forgotten. Yet even I didn’t think that the story would become this large, this intricate, this... passionate would be an apt word to describe it. For seven, almost eight months, this story has been my passion. I’ve poured countless hours into making it work, trying to write the best I’ve ever written, trying to show myself how far I’ve come from OSLF. I would fall asleep thinking about what I needed to do next and wake up itching to put my thoughts down to paper.
And boy, am I glad it’s over.
That may sound cynical, but I mean that in the most loving and heartfelt way to Snow and Shadows as I possibly can. I poured my life into this story, the characters, the settings, and the story itself. S&S is a part of me just as much as I’m sure it’s a part of many of you. I’ve worked for eight months to make this story perfect, and you know what? It has its flaws, but this is the most proud I’ve ever been of anything I’ve made, ever. And while I’m sad it’s over, I’m also happy to move on. S&S has done her work for you all, just as I’ve done mine. It’s time for us to both rest now. I gave this story the most beautiful and fitting conclusion I feel like I could possibly give to it, and looking back now, I wouldn’t change a thing. Who cares if it’s not posted in the feature box or has several thousand favorites and likes? I wrote something special to me, truly, truly special. The joy I’ve gotten from writing this story, and the joy it brings you all to see it updated, is what really touches my heart. And now it’s over.
Believe me when I say I was riding with you guys the whole way through. Authors can seem evil or cruel when they kill off characters, but I was right there suffering alongside you as well when I killed Swift Spear. I will have you know that several times during the last handful of chapters I was nearly in tears myself while writing. I secretly wished to myself that I wouldn’t have to kill Swift, and I managed to persuade myself out of killing Pan Sea or Twister or Typhoon or Cyclone. Yes, those characters were seriously in danger of dying when I got to their points of no return. For Twister, this is the second time she’s been laid down on the guillotine only for the machinery to choke up before taking her head. I’m dead serious about that one. She was supposed to die back in OSLF but didn’t.
Perhaps because I love my characters so much is why I’m able to build such powerful scenes whenever something bad happens to them. There is no character that I outright hate writing for; I used to think Chancellor Puddinghead fit that role, but about halfway through the story, two chapters before Onyx Ridge, I changed my mind. I recognized him for the lovable oaf that he actually is. His dialogue became witty and entertaining, and I really developed the chemistry between him and Smart Cookie through Onyx Ridge and beyond.
I apologize if this seems like I’m rambling. It’s late at night, I just finished Chapter 19, and it’s hard to think straight with the depression still rolling inside my skull after closing out the story for good.
Anyways, I suppose I should say a few things to the people who helped build this story with their support and advice. First and foremost, this wouldn’t be possible without the support of my brother, TheBigStallowski, even if I did want to punch him in the face several times whenever he asked me “when’s the next chapter coming out?” If you ever want to know why a character suddenly dies, blame him. I can’t be held responsible for what I do when I’m agitated.
Next I would like to thank LoyalLiar, whose support for Snow and Shadows from beginning to end has been integral in keeping the project afloat. Being able to bounce ideas off of someone who actually has an investment in the story beyond just liking the material is immensely helpful. He’s helped me out of a few writing jams before, and given me several ideas for how the story should progress whenever I start to wander and lose sight of what I want to do with some characters (Twilight and Rainbow Dash especially). Also, another plug, but check out the Price of Loyalty and his stories, and join the group. I can’t say this enough, but I’m writing the history of his stories just as he’s providing the source material for what’s going on in “present day” Equestria that I referenced for Twilight and Rainbow Dash during their scenes. Even if we don’t make each other’s stories required reading to know what’s going on, we’re in a partnership, and we damn well will be for a long time to come. So if you haven’t read his stuff, do so when you’re done. You’ll be able to pick out nice little references we make between our respective works.
After Loyal, I would like to thank Ruirik for being so kind enough to draw pictures of my characters, both from OSLF and S&S (coming soon to a blog post near you). He, like Loyal, has also helped me with generating scene progression and content for some of the chapters in the story. The characters Pathfinder and Iron Rain are his, and I helped introduce them for a project he’s working on and will release when he FINALLY FINISHES FIRE AND RAIN.
Ahem. Sorry about that. There was no need to shout. Anyway, I won’t spoil the title of his story that he’s working on, but look forward to seeing a totally new side of everything I’ve written so far, from the Red Cloud War in OSLF to the Eternal Blizzard in S&S and beyond. I know I am.
Lastly, I would like to thank all of you, the people who have favorited, liked, and/or commented on the story. You don’t understand how much it means to me to see how you’re enjoying the story, and to discuss with some of you what you think is going on or simply your thoughts about what I’ve written. Truth be told, I wouldn’t be writing if you guys didn’t show your support. You might think that you’re going to make a dumb comment or something and it’s going to offend me, but unless you’re being blatantly rude to me personally or trashing on my work with no justifiable explanation, I enjoy reading what you type out from across the nation, hell, even the globe itself. Let it be known that I read every one of your comments, and take each and every one of them to heart. Seeing what you guys think of my story keeps me writing on and on and on. I can’t thank you all enough for that motivation.
Now that the thank-yous are aside, I believe it’s time to talk a little bit about what’s happening next. First off, I’m going to be releasing another story before I get to the finale of the Commander Hurricane trilogy. It has nothing to do with Commander Hurricane, and as such, it deserves to be covered in a blog post instead of a story it’s unrelated to. However, I will drop a name here: A Rainbow of a Different Color.
While I’m working on that story, I will be simultaneously writing the third installment of the trilogy. You didn’t think this story would end with the show, did you? There’s still much more to be covered in the first years of the new and vulnerable nation of Equestria that rounds out Commander Hurricane’s story. There are still conflicts to be fought and loved ones to be lost, and I will be working as hard as I can to make it a fitting conclusion to the trilogy. It will be titled The Summer Lands, and if any of you have read LoyalLiar’s works and know what the Summer Lands are, then you know already how this story is likely to end. After all, none of my stories ever have a truly happy ending, and you should never expect them to. That just isn’t how I write.
But I’ll be damned if I don’t make it a good one.
That’s it. Once again, I cannot thank you all enough for all your support and everything you’ve done to help me write such a wonderful story for you all to enjoy. I look forward to seeing you all again on my later works.

“...But what about Twilight and Rainbow Dash?”
Okay, you caught me. Yes, there’s still a little bit left to do in Snow and Shadows. But that won’t be posted until the first chapter of The Summer Lands is ready. So you have that to look forward to, and it’ll serve as a notification to those of you who aren’t following me when the next story is out. So, see you then!
P.S. It’s also my 19th birthday in exactly three days (August 22nd). I’ll be damned if I don’t get any cake or birthday wishes from you all.
Yay! I'm loved!
I'M GOING TO LET EVERYPONY KNOW, that he didn't start threatening me with the deaths of characters until after Swift's death.
Regardless, the amount of times I've asked after the fact... I wouldn't be surprised if the entire nation of Equestria died of the plague in the third book. Unless the total casualties from the final battle were all me
Though I'd like to note that I waited until three in the morning for this to be posted, and now I'm up at 4:13am. I'm proud one of us can write fanfiction (seriously, don't look at the shit I've written, it'll save you an aneurism or internal hemorrhaging), and actually have fans of their work. Whenever I list a good example of fanfiction to say, someone new to the fandom, or someone who dismisses mlp fanfiction as "entirely clop", I tell them "Go to Fimfiction and check out 'Of Skies Long Forgotten'."
Since September 2012, I went from having not so high expectations of Hurricane's story to wondering "Why in Celestia's name hasn't this been featured?" I love all the Ace Combat references and everything, as those games were such a huge part of our childhood. And now I'm going to do what surprisingly I've done on every story but this and OSLF: I'm going to rate it with mustaches.
Personally i think the featured box is rigged. By far too many shipping fics out there clog up the works and the real gems get buried under the dime-a-dozen. (no seriously shipping is disgustingly overpopulated.)
Now we all know you had some musical help pushing the mood in a lot of those scenes, but damn it all if i didn't shed some man tears along the way. Bravo. And i will admit that you convinced me to try my hand at using music in my own fic. ( i know at least one person like my selections.)
The way you manage to make prolonged combat scenes in writing and do it well pisses me off. ( cause I feel like I keep making mine too short.)
I suppose that my own fault.
My face upon Swift Spear's death.

(No seriously. AAAARRRRRRGG!)
I think my brain is tickling.
Blue, nearly cloudless skies. The winds are calm and the earth is a rich brown and green. To think such a thing used to be an impossibility. A dream of the past, a poor soul pining for the past. Now it is becoming common place again. No more cold summers, freezing springs, or chilly autumns. Winter has finally broken.
The representative briefly gives his thoughts to a project before the pegasus flies away. The strangeness of it. A pegasus of all ponies, asking an earth pony for his advice and accepting it. Can it be that I'm dreaming again? he fearfully muses to himself. Are these warm lands merely a dream? Is our unity merely an illusion of the green pastures that my soul has drifted to after death?
He looks down at his leg, with a hoof hovering over his skin to pinch the dream away. Did it all really happen? Onyx Ridge? The cave? Hurricane staying true to his word after he flew back to the Compact Lands?
The representative looks over the growing town. Earth ponies, unicorns, and pegasus working side by side. Is this real? Or is it still just a dream? Am I lying broken on the ground in that crystal fortress, dreaming of the nation I dared to wish for? Or... did it actually happen?
Marshaling his courage, he looked back down at his leg. If Jade had shown him anything, is that he should press on, and make the dream a reality.
He pinches his leg. Hard. But the only pain he feels, is that one spot. The town he is standing in doesn't fade away. Its still there, in front of him.
He lets go of a breath he didn't know he was holding. Its real. He said quietly to himself. That dream of a green valley is no longer a dream.
He, and the others, have earned it. But a question still remains in his mind: do we deserve it?
There is only one answer that comes to his mind. So far. We deserve it so far.
He nods to himself and looks up to see a unicorn running over with a scroll ready for the representative's purview. With everything that I am, i will make sure that answer never changes.
Death, why must you end it with death? Why? Well i suppose its a pretty standard ending, just do it well... Pfft who am I kidding you'll do it well, you are you.
It's been a fun ride, and I cannot wait for whatever comes next.
Will Rainbow be a PoL story? I'll almost certainly be reading it either way, just mildly curious.
This story, man. This was one hell of an awesome ride. It was as good, if not better than OSLF. Both are firmly locked in my headcanon. And you succeeded in making me cry. You are truly a powerful writer.
Also, I finally got around to reading Where Loyalties Lie about a week ago. I'm on the final chapter right now, and I intend to have it an the epilogues read by the end of today.
...Oh man...
Yes...yes I do...
I was gonna ask about Twilight and Rainbow in the last chapter, but I had a feeling you'd get around to explaining that here.
Anyways, looking forward to MMOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!
And I have a feeling I'm gonna want to read up Loyal's stuff before you start posting Summer Lands.
Yeesh, the passion you were able to flow through here moved even me. I never really comment, but I felt the need to say that your stuff deserves to be up there with the likes of Fallout Equestria and Past Sins, two other favorites of mine.
I never listened to any of the music you linked, but the writing spoke for itself. I can say for certain that the music is unnecessary. Not that there's anything wrong with linking it, but the story didn't really need it.
Can't think of anything else to say about it. Nothing is flawless, of course, but I can't think of anything off the top of my head. Thanks for writing, in any case, it has been a lovely 300k+ words so far.
3070838
It was never explicitly stated that Clover was Star Swirl's granddaughter. Not even the mare herself knows this. Clover's journey in the story was essentially the orphan unexpectedly finding her long lost family members, even if in some cases she didn't realize it.
3070849
Rainbow (or roadack, as I sometimes phonetically pronounce the abbreviation), does not take place in the same universe as the other stories Loyal and I have written, but it follows the themes well enough, the struggle to remain true to your friends and allies, no matter the cost. I already have 3 chapters in addition to the prologue written; when I'm moved into college (which happens tomorrow ) I'll give them another editing run around and start posting them. These chapters are only 3-5k words long, not the >8k behemoths you're used to, and as such, I should be able to post them more frequently.
3072497
I'm glad that you liked the story, and I'm happy to see you comment! You flatter me with your praise, truly. I'm thankful that you hold me in such high regard.
I understand your feelings about the music, but if there's one instance where I think you should really listen to it, it's the very last song at the very end of Chapter 19, the song that Cyclone is humming to himself. It's a beautiful piece, and the vocalist sounds exactly like how I imagine Swift Spear to sound. I've been waiting to use that song to close out this story since the beginning chapters. It's truly wonderful.
3072597
I'm not sure how clear I made it in earlier chapters, but Hurricane killing two of the three windigos seriously lessened the strength of the blizzard in Compact Lands, but because one survived, it failed to break. Now, for the most part, it's just blisteringly cold and windy while that surviving windigo recovers and licks its wounds after its encounter with Hurricane and the other leaders.
Awesome. And also, that was very sad.
Damn amazing story dude. I found you when you released chapter 6 of S&S and was completely caught up by chapter 8. Damn shame not many likes. This was the best fanfiction I have read. I salute you.
I was on the edge of my seat the entire way though S&S, and OSLF. I don't know when or how I found this story, but I'm glad I did.
This story is awesome, and you should feel awesome.
Wow, just... wow.
This is, without a doubt, the best fic I've ever read. It's crazy how well you can bring the story across. From the battles to the family intrigues...
All I can really say is:
Congratulations. This was epic.
Glad you enjoyed it. I enjoyed it more than I should of. When people ask me what I'm reading, I don't tell fanfictions are the internet, but I know that what I am reading has just as much quality in it as those books that are trending right now. God bless you in your future endeavors and Happy Birthday on the 22nd (which is right next to my brother's bday on the 23rd).
And......you're only 19?!?!?! wow! Didn't expect that!
Google Translate doesn't like the em in 'legionem'. A little wiki reading says -em would be the accusative case, which I can not claim to understand how to use. How's your Latin?
3075027
I originally Google translated it when I first made the phrase, but then somebody who actually studied Latin came along and told me how it was supposed to be written. Thus, I changed the phrasing.
I don't think I've read anything, let alone a fanfic, that's moved me as much as your work has, I can't praise this and Of Skies Long Forgotten enough, nor can I thank you enough for putting in the time and effort that it must require to create something like this. Have a fantastic birthday, you really deserve it!
OSLF and S&S are one of my favourite fics , and I really can't wait for the third story in the trilogy and also 'A Rainbow of a Different Colour'
Can't wait to see what happens to Twilight and Rainbow in 'The Summer Lands' too
Also I would love to see a Story about 'The Commander' from LoyalLiar's stories. (Unless LoyalLiar will do that in Where Loyalty Lies: GotP we'll just have to wait)
Also Happy early birthday

Interesting. I wish I understood cases and declensions better. I had two years of latin in high school and there are plenty of things I don't understand very well. :(
"I wrote something special to me, truly, truly special."
And that is why this story is so powerful. When the story strikes chords within us, the authors, it resonates that much more deeply with the readers.

3075557
What would you say if I told you that he (my 'Commander', pictured to the left) features prominently in 'Summer Lands'?
Well! What a journey. If it was late at night right now, you'd get some long winded emotional thanks for writing the story. But you don't, because its the middle of the day and sunlight dries the sappy right outta you.
Seriously though, this is probably one of my favorite series of all fimfiction time at the moment. I adore your writing style, and you're an incredible author.
And even as good as your first installment of the series was, as I found it around when this one had started, you've continued to grow and get better.
Oh, and the story you hinted at? About rainbows?
I'm calling it now, Daring Do.
Or Rainbows Dad or something, but Daring Do.
3075591
The cases are used to mark the noun's function in the sentence. We still do this in English for our pronouns - he, his, him are roughly equivalent to the nominative, genitive, and accusative cases (Modern English doesn't really have anything corresponding directly to the dative and ablative cases). In this example, the accusative case simply means the word is the object of a preposition ('ante' and 'post', before and after).
(Some prepositions take the ablative case instead, or can use either, depending on the meaning. For instance, in luce means "in the light", where in lucem means "into the light".)
Compare, in English, "Before him, there was nothing, and after him, there will be nothing."

Thank you! I'm glad you liked the story, and I hope you like whatever my future endeavors produce
To address your take on Empatha being overpowered, I respond with this: it is. This is why the pegasi formed the militant warrior Rome-esque nation and not the unicorns. This is also why they were tasked with defending two other populations in addition to their own nation pretty much entirely by themselves. There is no better soldier than a Cirran Legionary, period.
I will also note that it takes a lot more control to master Empatha than you would think. You can't suddenly burst into flames because you're angry; you have to first have training with how to use your magic if you ever want to achieve that level of power. Also, if a pegasus is tired or wounded, they're too burnt out to be able to summon the emotions needed to power their magic. A unicorn, on the other hand, can still cast spells (albeit weak ones) when they're critically wounded, so long as their horns are still intact.
Which brings me to your example. In a one on one fight, a pegasus will be able to dodge almost anything a unicorn can throw at them, and their armor helps shrug off some of the shots that get through. In addition, a unicorn has little defense against a dive-bomb or a flyby attack; they simply happen too fast for the unicorn to summon a shield strong enough to protect themselves. Now, if it were in larger formations attacking each other, the unicorns would still lose by the sheer force they're going up against, but they'd score some kills in the process. If you've ever played Total War: SHOGUN 2, and the Fall of the Samurai DLC, an apt comparison is pitting Line Infantry (the unicorns) against Shogitai (the pegasi). Once that line of shogitai hits your ranks, there's nothing you can do to stop them. Your best bet is killing them off before they can get close, which is why a unicorn regiment's best tactic of survival is harassment and guerilla warfare. If they can pin a company of pegasi down with their magic from, say, the windows of buildings on a street, there is little that the pegasi can do to fight back.
tl;dr: You're going to lose if you're fighting a pegasus/pegasus regiment if you try to stand and fight. Your best bet is laying in ambush or making quick strikes and retreats before the might of the Legion crushes down on you.
So that was a bunch of words. Any more questions or thoughts, I'd be happy to respond to.

FOR THE SHOGUN
3123010
Pegasi nowadays can use their Empatha, but for the average civilian, it isn't very useful, thus many simply don't know about it. It's most commonly used in the Royal Guard and Honor Guards, but that's covered more in LoyalLiar's Where Loyalties Lie stories.
In a 1v1 pegasus-against-unicorn scenario, what you're talking about mostly comes down to the individuals. Outside of that, the general rule is that the faster the pegasus flies and attacks, the better their chances of winning are. The quicker that a unicorn reacts and is able to predict where the pegasus is going, the better their chances of winning are. Being a pegasus, you have to unbalance your opponent before diving in for the kill, you can't just fly straight at a wall of blades that the unicorn is defending themselves with. Likewise, being a unicorn, you can't simply aim at the pegasus and expect to hit, you have to utilize the surrounding environment to your advantage and try to lead your target with your magic.
Not to spoil anything, but there is at least one non-pegasus hero who can handle the Guard by him/herself, should the situation arise. However, they have not been introduced yet. Smart Cookie has nowhere near the capabilities to survive in a fight (Warlord Halite thoroughly throttled him when he was trying to assist Jade, if you recall and survived that encounter mostly through luck). Clover certainly has the magic to fend for herself, but she's mostly against violence and is concerned with more practical applications of arcana. Puddinghead is... well, Puddinghead. The stallion can fight, but only because of his "Pudding Sense". While it helps, it certainly wouldn't help him against more than one opponent. Plus, he's too much of a stoonad to ever willingly get involved in a fight such as that.

Is there going to be a sequel to this sequel :v
3210963
Indeed there will be, whenever I decide to start writing it. Currently my attention is focused on roadac so I can take a break from ponies murdering each other
Sorry for writing this so late, but with school and all I haven't had much time to read lately.
First of all, happy belated birthday! here's a cookie. (:.).
Anyway, I just wanted to thank you again for being such a great writer. You're one of my favourite authors on this site and I look forward to seeing more of roadac (I've already read the first 3 chapters) and TSL when it comes out.
Also, two questions: 1) Is Pinkie related to Iron Wing? And 2) Is roadac part of this universe?
Thank you once again for all your hard work. I really, really enojoyed this story and it is, in my opinion, among the top few on this site.
Pega-ace
I'm only 10% in and I'm already liking this.

Apparently I suck at remembering to respond to comments I notice just before I go off to do something else
I'm super thankful for your support and your enjoyment of my works. I also enjoy reading regular comments from readers, and you have yet to disappoint me. Good on you!
As for your questions, the simple answer to both is no. Roadac is entirely separate and has nothing to do with A Song of Storms at all, and Pinkie... well, you should have been able to figure out who exactly Pinkie's descended from. Iron Rain is too much of a
psychopathnoble Nimban mare for someone like Pinkie to be one of her descendants.Once again, thank you for your support, and I hope you continue to enjoy my work!

While I do get the Puddinghead part, Iron Wing is simply too crazy for me to ignore. Sorry for the confusion.
You deserve to have a lot more views. You truly are a genius of writing, The 24th Pegasus.
Over 200,000 total words? Just over 12k TOTAL views? Something's wrong here; that just doesn't add up! How can you have written so much, and only have so few views?
3291556
Don't ask me, man, I just work here. Feel free to contribute to the view count though!

looking forward to it.
Now i just need to wait for my home internet to get fixed and then i can start on the FoE sized chapter.
Ending opinions.
Now before i start, i was going to bitch about not having at least one more part with Twi and Dash before the end but now i see that you are on top of that.
Now to the real ending opinions.
I found the first few chapters to be lacking in a kind of "feeling" that i got from Skies.
But that may just be from me trying to follow about 5 Points of view/story lines at the same time.
But whatever the case, the story really picked up the pace around the chapter "skyfall". It was at this point that i really got into it.
I laughed, and i cried, and i just about screamed in rage a few times (that's when you know its good )
And all this being said, i cant wait for the Summer Lands to start up! (i may just need to keep up with the updates as they go on that one.)
Anyway, as always, thanks for the ride!

(kind-of shitty rhyme i had on the mind this morning)
We walk this path,
that we are able.
To get away,
from this fable.
With the earth pony stallion,
and the unicorn mare.
And the Cirran,
with his noble stare.
The earth ponies and unicorns are happy to go,
but the pegasi mourn ever so.
For they remember,
a home lost forever ago.
In Skies Long Forgotten.
Though the son of the Cirran will stay,
in the land of snow and ice.
To pay for his crimes of hate,
and to uphold what is right.
From the Skies long forgotten,
to the snowy compact lands,
the Cirran will never forget the past,
as he goes to The Summer Lands.

You should tell this story the story ID of the prequel.
Excellent job, 24th!
Also, a wild TvTropes page appears! Update to your heart's content!
I'm not gonna claim to be the toughest guy around, but I can say I have never actually shed tears while reading a story.
Until this one that is.
When you killed off Swift, something just... Broke. The reactions of the characters, the remorse shown by her killer, the chance at retribution given to the traitors by Hurricane, it was all so, utterly believable. Real. Tangible. I felt as if I were next to Hurricane watching the love of his life, his constant companion die. And with that I was crying. My jaw was on the floor, my eyes were wide, and I was desperately trying to stop the indignity of human emotion show on my face. This whole story is beautiful. Consistent. Real. Tangible. Solid. Utterly believable in every aspect, helped out by the fact that you are not afraid of killing your characters for the sake of the story.
You have created an amazing feat of writing with this one. If 'The Summer Lands' is half as good as this was, it will still be one of the greatest stories on this site. Ratings and popularity be damned, this takes the cake.
I'm glad that you didn't decide to kill Twister or any of the others that you were so sorely tempted to. But this:
This brings worry to me once again. You're gonna kill loved ones once again. You say Twister has escaped death multiple times, and that... that just makes me think that death is about to catch up to her. Epilogue next, then I'll start questioning my life.
~SolidFire
Many many congratulations on finishing this segmont of the trilogy and the one before it.
It's been one heck of a ride these past couple of weeks reading your works and getting invested in the struggles and battles Hurricane and his family have faced that I am in awe of your skill and dedication to telling the last Emperor of Cirria'a story.
Kudos to you once again for all your hard work.
I understand why Swift got killed off. I might be off base, but it seems her death genuinely broke Cyclone. He seemed more humble and penitent in the last chapters, maybe even suicidal (doing nothing to justify his actions even when facing a death sentence-before he would rant his views to anyone who happened to be in the room). He really didn't intend to kill his own mother. For his ambition, he lost everything and too late he realized it wasn't worth it. If Swift hadn't died, he probably would have continued fighting.
I'd honestly like to see a story about him rebuilding in River Rock, but the ending here was perfect.
Also, I compliment you on your foreshadowing. Cyclone offered his wing as payment if he failed to protect Cirra in his father's absence. In the fight with Typhoon, she cripples his wing.
I love that sort of foreshadowing..
8396013
Oh wow, I just got that about the wing!
I didn't think they were gonna die anyway. If you think about it they could very well be ancestors to the mane six.
Queen Platinum - Rarity
Clover the Clever - Twilight Sparkle
Commander Hurricane - Rainbow Dash
Pan Sea(aka Private Pansy) - Fluttershy
Chancellor Pudding Head(Plus he had the pinkie sense) - Pinkie Pie
Smart Cookie - AppleJack
Not only that if you go the mlp episode that played the hearts Warming tale they played those exact roles too.
Platinum/Rarity
Both of them are drama queens(except one IS a queen) and Platinum is described as generous by Clover the element that Rarity embodies.
