The Night of Lanterns is a transplanted Neighponese tradition that many Equestrian communities participate in, including Lower Canterlot. The festival involves children, and some adults, creating paper lanterns, writing their hopes and dreams for the coming year on them, then sailing them on a large body of water on the first New Moon after Hearth's Warmth Day. But this year, Upper Canterlot has other plans...

Kind of clunky, it could use a lot of smoothing and refinement. Regardless, like the rest of your stuff, I like the ideas, but the execution needs a lot of work.
