That was a quaint little story, if a little bittersweet. Fluttershy has a rather morbid duty, doesn't she? To her animals, at least. I love how she worded the lesson, even if it felt a little OOC for her. It was almost creepy.

Nice job. You might want to set a genre, though. I'd label it as Slice-of-Life.

...I got to the part where Apple Bloom said 'Now she's just a body" and started crying. As in actual tears, not just an emoticon.

That's usually a good sign that your story has made some emotional impact.

ScyStorm and Papillon Rose, thanks for the criticism and compliments :) I appreciate the kind words. I'm glad the story.had that.impact, especially to you, Rose :)

A bit OOC for Fluttershy, yeah. It'd say it's a side she doesn't show often or so.
I labelled it tragedy. Maybe slice of life is more proper but it's be a slice of death :)

This was a very touching story. It was good to see this side of Fluttershy. She has so many animal friends that she had to have seen her share of death. i imagine that it is something that she has grown accustomed to.

For some time I was wondering how do ponies view death. Well, I must say I quite like your vision.

I liked it! I always wondered how Fluttershy and other ponies viewed death, and I always wondered how the Cutie Mark Crusaders would deal with their first encounter with death.

NOT THE CHICKEN!
Haha. Just kidding. Great story.
