walk-in closet brony

I'm a closet brony... I mean, if thats ok.

T

After a mishap during spell practice, one unlucky pony is sent to another world.

A place where dinosaurs rule the world...

Well guys, this is it! I will not be modeling this story after the books because there are just too many people out there who haven't read them. I'll bet hardly anyone knows who Dr. Thorn is or that Muldoon actually survives in the first book. :ajsleepy:

Anyway, I will add tidbits of information from the novels and the videogame. For those of you who haven't played it yet, do it. It totally focuses on Harding, the guy who was tending the triceratops in the field with Sattler. :pinkiehappy:

Enjoy! Don't forget to comment and post your thoughts!

Oh yes, I will read the FUCK out of this one.

I cannot wait. Like seriously, I'm geeking out over here.

Also, Jurassic Park III was bad ass, but it made my inner palaeontologist cringe when Spinosaurus killed the T.Rex. Spino was a fish eater, dammit! He should have been dead the second T.rex bit his neck, Tyrannosaurus had the strongest bite in the world!

Sorry, you just got me all excited. Eagerly awaiting the next chapter.

I'd be scared of velociraptors as well.

childhood memories just got awesomer

Jurassic Park, eh? This aught to be interesting. I reckon you'll be hard pressed to reasonably not have Twi eaten in the first five minutes, however. I can't imagine a Pony dealing too well with a raptor ambush.
And it's probably a wise idea to go with the films - they're _far_ more memorable than the novels (besides which, I prefer the film-verse anyway).
Anyway, you have my _rapt_ attention. Keep writing, please.

1797823-And I shall reply the FUCK out of your comment good sir.
1797830-Glad your so excited.
1798062-Heh, yeah Twilight is going to definitely have a few run-ins with good ol' do-you-think-he-saw-us rex :twilightblush:

YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Can't wait for more!!!!:pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy::pinkiehappy:

Finally!A pony story with dinosaurs. It's really hard to find these types around here.

Next chapter is up! In case you were wondering, Louis Dodgson is the owner of another biogenetic company called Biosyn that rivals Ingen. He employed Nedry to steal dinosaur embryos so he wouldn't be left behind in the race for the genetics monopoly. Miles Chadwick is another employee sent by Dodgson to meet Nedry by the docks. In the first movie, he is the man who is telling Nedry to hurry up through the security monitors. He met his untimely end in the Dilophosaur pens. I wont go into detail, but the "Hispanic lady" is a mercenary named Nima who is hired to escort the embryos off the island.

If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask! :twistnerd:

DISLIKE ON MY STORY?

I like how you're also using the canon from the video game :scootangel:

Unexpected, but a very pleasant surprise

Must admit I snickered when Twilight appeared. Very funny. Also I want to watch the movies and/or read the book again now.

Now it begins:pinkiecrazy:

where did i put my popcorn?

1806557- Michael Crichton tends to do that to you.
1806432- Heh, playing the game right now. Just figured it would be pretty awesome to have epic dino-dodging Gerry in the fic except for boring movie Gerry with an ungainly moustache. (Even though he looked kind of bad-ass with it)

Is the whole trans-dimensional spell screw up idea inspired by 'Dead Space: Friendship is Dismembered'? It seems like it is.

1807393-Funny thing is, I've actually read that story. But mostly, this is just me trying to rationalize a way for Twilight to get to earth. :twilightsheepish:

I would like to say one thing..... MMMMMMMMMMMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:flutterrage::flutterrage::flutterrage::flutterrage::flutterrage:
That is all.:pinkiecrazy:

1809775-Okay okay...:twilightoops:
.....Jeez (Starting now)

1809878 That was the first time I deemed it necessary to use the whole MOAR:flutterrage: thing lol

1809892-Well, there's a first for everything... (my first time getting a MOAR from anyone)

Ah - As I recall, the island chain that Hammond owned was 'the five deaths' - de los cinco muertes. Plus, the island name format is 'Isla X'.
Might I suggest the use of the jurassic park wiki to prevent minor continuity errors such as that - it will make for a far more immersive experience.

Also, I hope for your sake you are a really highly qualified mathematician, as putting Twilight Sparkle near Ian Malcolm is going to result in an _epic_ study session (or not - the movies don't really explain if his love of educating people has a direct correlation to the attractiveness of the student).
And good call making Twilight land on the boat before they get to the island - being surrounded by people who know how to deal with dinosaurs _vastly_ decreases her chances of being eaten. Also, being the fastest person in a group - it really helps. As is often said, you need not outrun your enemy. You need only outrun your allies (not that I expect Twilight to do that, of course).

1817651- Yeah, loving that critique! :yay:
Anyway, just though I'd mention that this Island is something along the lines of a relocation sight. That's all I'll say though.
I will go to the wiki when needing to consult greater minds when need be. I suppose I could have made the story take place on one of Hammond's five islands but that would be clinging a little too close to the movie than I want to. (little tidbit, Twilight arrived on the beach after the barge left)

Hurrah, another chapter!

Hey guys, yes another chapter has spawned! I apologize for the kind-of slapdash ending to the Twilight-humans meeting. That is always the hardest part to write. When the humans and the pony(s) meet. Plus, the night before when I wrote that part, I took a break and went on DeviantART. I was reading this pretty cool My Little Dashie comic thingie. The panels are pretty well-drawn but the captions. Dear god the captions were terrible. They were so cheesy and predictable. Anyways, I kinda think that rubbed off on me and threw me off. Oh well, comment, like, and enjoy the chapter.

Dat end :rainbowlaugh:

Eagerly awaiting the next chapter
But I must ask, did the original Jurassic Park have oviraptor? I know there was a specific list of dinosaurs, but I don't remember oviraptor, but my memory is a bit fuzzy. Either way, I'm loving this so far

1818618-Yes, Bennett was useless to me... BWA HA HA HA- Sorry, lost myself.
And no, I don't believe Oviraptor was in the first movie or the book. But I'm making this in a sense that Oviraptor was a phase 2 species. Not core, but still on Ingen's mind when developing the park.

1797645

even less know about Ed Regis

1818633-YES! Thank you! :pinkiehappy:
There are so few of us who have read that masterpiece. We're a dying breed. They're hunting us down one-by-one. :ajsleepy:

1818631 Huh. That's actually a good excuse to be able to add the dinosaurs that weren't in the park but people wished they were :rainbowlaugh: None come to mind but the dinosaurs I wished were there :duck:

Oh, and also: Rexy. Eating dumbasses since... whatever year the book was written :twilightoops: I forget :pinkiesad2:

WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT....WAIT!
GERRY HARDING...FROM THAT CELESTIA FORSAKEN GAME!
OH MY GOD!
I JUST finished it last Thursday (13/12/12). The game was painful to play...Kinda like heavy rain with dinosaurs (Not as awesome as it sounds)
I beat it over-night and returned it for a full refund.
The ONLY good thing about it was it had an okay story.
With that said, i've only read up the the part where it says Gerry Harding...so...i'll go back to reading now.

well...Favorite earned
keep up the good work

1818766-Thank you sir! (Sniffle) I thought the game was pretty good....:fluttercry:

1818775
Well, each person is entitled to their own opinion.
But when i bought the game, i was expecting more than 3 hours of quick-time events.
But I finished it and considering how bad i am at QTEs, i must have liked story (oh, was the triceratops guy from the movie ACTUALLY named Harding, or did they just do that to tie in The lost World)

And YOUR story deserves it, I hope to see another update in the future (It would be kinda weird to see it in the past BUT if you could manage that...I'd be REALLY impressed.)

1818794-Heh, yeah. The guy with the mustache with Sattler in the movie when they're tending the Trike is Harding. For some reason they took away his mustache when they developed the game. (WHY?) Anyway, I'm pretty sure you can see the nametag when you watch the movie. If not, the game developers said that that was supposed to be Him.

1818814
Okay because that was my ONLY complaint with the story. It felt like they were trying to hard too tie it in with the movies by making Gerry Sarah's father. But i haven't scene the movie in about a decade, the book, i haven't read in four years. So maybe this gets a pass.
Thanks and keep up the good work.
BUT if you are looking for a good game, I'd like to suggest the greatest game of all time.
Persona 4 (PS2)

1818814

I've played that game too. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. And I do remember Ellie, in the movie, saying his name was Dr. Harding.

Maybe Gerry looked different in the game because they couldn't get the rights from the guy who portrayed him in the film? It's been a while since I've played it, but I don't recall seeing Nedry's face, and I think the picture on his ID had blood on it to cover up his face.

Or maybe they just wanted Gerry to look more like how he did in the novel. There were plenty of other novel references in the game, if I recall correctly. :twilightsheepish:

Yeah, next chapter is up! :yay:
Sorry for the kind of short length, I liked where it ended. Some action in this so I hoped you enjoyed it. If you feel like it, go back to where the group is being chased by the Allosaurs and play this. This is what I listened to when I wrote it. :pinkiehappy:

If the video isn't showing, it's called raptor attack from the King Kong video game.

P.S. Remember to comment and like. I love it when either happens.

(sorry to mention this but, Dr. Grant's name is spelt Alan. still a good story though)

"Sounds like a plan! Put that horn to work girl! (<) Yelled Sattler.

You missed a quotation mark at the end of Sattler's speech.
Still a darn good story mate.

Yeah, what the other guy said - Dr. Grant's name is spelled Alan.

And I don't think you need to spell the dinosaur's names in italics all the time; but do whatever :rainbowlaugh:

And Jess sneaking into her father's bag? That's so in-character I just-about fell out of my chair :yay: Good show!

1829269ts1.mm.bing.net/th?id=H.4966249990325284&pid=1.7&w=140&h=144&c=7&rs=1

I guess I'll go back through and change it all! Lol, anything for the readers.
Also, the italicizing is done only when I state scientific forms of the name. Like Dilophosaurus. Not Dilo. I don't use it for nicknames.

1829289 Ah, I see.

ALSO - you are amazing for using Allosaurus. Seriously. I love you forever.
