Redback Spino

T

Another short story inspired by the great HP Lovecraft.

In a dark and endless forest, there is a decaying castle. In this castle lives something lonely and forgotten. He has no idea who he is, what he is, where he came from, or what he even looks like. Tired of the endless darkness and loneliness, he vows to finally scale the massive tower that stretches from the castle, into the inky blackness above. What he found at the top, no one could have expected.

Based on The Outsider, by HP Lovecraft.

Zombie?

Truly amazing. The writing was superb and the concept is possibly the greatest I have ever seen or conceived. Bravo

A bit too close to Lovecraft's in some ways, but it mixed in the MLP elements without wrecking the tone or having them feel jarring, so that's definitely a plus in my book.

129806 Yah, I admit that I followed the source material a bit closer than usual. Still, that out of the way, thanks for the kind words.

Very well written. If you ever send this to EqD, I will gladly give you a 5 there as well.

130228 I actually tried sending some of my other Lovecraft ponifications, but they got rejected, either because they were too short, or because they were "Like a bad Twilight Zone episode", as they put it. Still, if I get enough of these done, I might compile them and make an anthology series, with my first entry being a real barnstormer of a story, so I can sneak in the less better ones later on once it's been approved. I even have the name worked out and everything: "The Tales of Howard Philly Hoovecraft"

SEEEEEEQUUUUUUEEEEELLLLLLLL????

or me go FUS ROH DAH on u:flutterrage:

pls?

134653 Sorry. These ponifications of Lovecraft stories are all just one-offs unless specifically stated (I might do some of his longer stories sometime). If you want a sequel, you'll just have to write it yourself.

gah i knew u would say that... :fluttercry: i don't trust myself with continuing somepony else's work... maybe some kind soul out there will make one...

137630I would, but it probably would suck:ajsleepy:

I find myself wondering how Celestia would recognize the narrator. There may be more to this story than what is here...

Aw man, poor guy. He just wanted some friends! but he was confounded by the fact that he was an eldritch abomination of death and decay. Typical.
Y'all ponies should learn to be more welcoming of other people. Admittedly this person might make you go insane by proximity, but come on, no need to be rude.
