Every four years Equestria and the Griffon Empire go to a mock war to celebrate seven centuries of peace.
With the recent population growth in the Empire however, the little ponies find themselves greatly outnumbered and suffered an humiliating defeat four years ago. This year however is different. The great and powerful Trixie has summond creatures from another dimension and turned them into ponies to fight in the war.
This is how I remeber the days of the Equestrian Mock War.
Wrote this short story just for the hack of it. Inspired by the New Artits Training Ground on Equestria daily and by a story by D'Koda with the same theme. I think I tried a different approach though.

153352 I actually prefer Derpy. I think General Derpy has a certain ring to it. But she was called Ditzy Doo in the original New Artists Prooving Ground post, so I stuck with that.
BTW: I still need a brony OC to act as the bringer of human warfare tactics to equestria. I could have Shield Wall do it, or invent another brony, but I think Iron Clad makes for a good Mock War Pony Name and you seem to be knowlegable in the field. Would you like to appear as an OC in my story?
BTW2 ANYPONY: I would be happy to add other brony OCs as well, just give me a PM if you are up to it.

If you say blitzkrieg, I'm totally going nuts. It's a gamble maneuver but when it's successful, we know what it can do. I know, i have french ascendency and I do admit the German offensive of France was truly smart. Having a pincer and cornering the French near the Italian border was brillian.
161424 Heh, sorry but I don't think a Blitzkrieg tactic is possible in the szenario I came up with. You can judge that for yourself, when I put up the next chapter this evening. (That is the plan at least. But you know: No plan survives enemy contact. )
Although blitzkrieg is a great tactic, I can see more of a bonzai charge situation here.
A grammatical error I noticed since it comes up occasionally is that you use 'ether' instead of 'either.'
The difference is that 'either' is a conjunction used to express one or the other, and 'ether' is a sedative.
Other than that, keep up the great work!

So this time, on my sick leave I got some of the cooks to help me and set up two hundred barrels of meat, again half of it Schädelspalter. I planned on rolling the good stuff out on our victory feast after we defeated the griffons.
