Inky Shades

T
Source

Love and friendship are two things that come naturally to most of the inhabitants of Equestria except for the changelings. No one knew if they were even capable of feeling such emotions or if they ever even tried to. One day in order to improve relations with the pony-like insects Princess Celestia sends a letter to the current changeling queen's daughter, Chrysalis. This letter contains an invitation to her own personal school, Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns.
It is there where Chrysalis experiences friendship for the very first time, but as she gets older her friendship will be tested when the changelings food stores of love run out. The very same love that is quite plentiful amongst the ponies of Equestria.

What an interesting premise. Please continue.

Is the pairing Chrysalis/Cadance? I really hope it is cuz i wanna see a fic about that pairing.

Interesting premise. I look forward to seeing where you take this

Lol!! I love the irony of this!!(And the plot, the pace, word choice, characterization, etc..) "Hey Cadence, you were so great to me in school!, so to return the favor, I'm going to steal your husband-to-be and trap you in forgotten caves. Love you!" :rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh:

1746649 How do you do the comment links which show up and have the person's name? :derpyderp2:
Anyway, awesome story.

As far as I know you click the little dialouge bubble marked reply to comment next to the person's name you want. Then you should be good to go with your comment. Does that answer your question? Thank you for reading my story!

Unfortunitly the books weren't in the best conditon when she found them so her information was even more constricted.

Unfortunately.
May have been a couple of other errors, but I didn't see any. Please, continue!

Thank you for pointing out the error. I have corrected it!

Wow, okay, that was so adorable! Really looking forward to more on this! Keep up the good work and brony on~

Interesting theory/headcanon on Cadance's foalhood. I never thought about it before, but it makes sense that having an immortal(?) powerful-enough-to-move-the-Sun-and-send-somepony-to-the-Moon aunt would... "limit" the kinds of ponies (or Changelings!) that would approach Cadance in search of an honest friend (opposed to wanting to be with her just to be close to somepony powerful). Sad, and yet it makes too much sense...

Ugh, loving this! The back story to Chrysalis is so sad, but awesome.. Definitely shows how much it could effect her in the future and her relationship toward other ponies. I'm really loving where this is going

So, Chrysalis wanted to know where Cadance would be taking her, but she felt like she had to trick and bluff her way to force Cadance to say it without Chrysalis asking... Interesting insight into her character. Insight both cute and grim at the same time... Completely believable, too.

Usually I'd wait until the end of a story to do this, but for that ingenious scene, take a thumbs-up.

I am glad you liked it! Thank you!

This is lovely, although the dialogue could use work and the spelling is somewhere between decent and 'oh my god my eyes are melting'. If you want an editor, I happen to be free.

1852138

Can you point out the eye melting parts to me so I can look at them?

1853384 It's not really any one part, they're scattered throughout in such a way it's hard to point out. Do you have a spellcheck? You should get one.

1853403

I do actually have a spellcheker. I post my story in it before posting it here. It takes care of the errors in my original version. Surely if you noticed an error it couldn't have been that well hidden. I've read the chapter multiple times I don't see anything wrong with it.

1853470 Well, writers do have typo blindness. I'll give you a complete list when I have time.

Normally, when I see an "in school" fic, I turn my nose up at the waste of time.

This, however, doesn't look like a waste of time.
