Gotta say, reading this with the song itself on repeat was absolutely haunting. You definitely know how to set a dreary mood.
That said, there were some grammatical and formatting errors here and there, and some of the dialogue seemed a bit off. Do you have an editor?

A very intriguing start, a nice little distraction with Plot Twist that may or may not become relevant later... but well... Rarity's state and all this allusion to a piaster... it really gets you hooked.

I hope the pointers toward Spike turn out to be a syke. I want Rarity to come across burnt dragon bones.
Finally got around to reading this. You build the anticipation really well for this chapter.Hell, it is almost palpable from being layed on so thick.

My one complaint so far is that Hellfire seems... pointless. He doesn't seem to have a REASON. He's like Discord, only with an innate need to murder and kill and destroy instead of just be confusing and random. It's terrifying, but I can't get behind it.
Also I totally pictured him looking like a Badass Fire Skag, a la Borderlands. Been playing a lot of that recently, I have. I look forward to what is to come.
