Feel free to point out any mistakes I made in this. It was written at 03:00 after a particularly bad discovery, but I'm fairly sure this'll make someone feel something. Maybe not. Perhaps my excessive amount of commas will scare the life out of you.

Well, enjoy, I guess!

OH GOD PHILOSOPHY! WHY?!
Seriously though, this is mostly philosophy. Not bad though.

Interesting. Philosophy is hard to write into a fic, Sierra. You nailed it.

Wow... what people said before me. Very impressive, a well-deserved thumbs up.

So deep. And some philosophy in there too. Truth be told I got about half the stuff in there, but I don't really get much on the physiological outlook on anything. Anyways, good read.

This is a really sharp turn for you. Even more so than your upcoming clopfic if I'm honest, lol. Philosophy is a hard subject, there's no concrete right or wrong, and thus a lot is left up to individual emotions and personal interpretation. But, you have some lovely imagery, and the subtle hints at Twilight's fate as the town elder were a nice touch. A nice little short story, it's cool to see you try something with depth and a straighter tone.

>You will serve the town well as its’ elder
Please delete that apostrophe :moustache:

It's good to see a story that actually tries to tackle a more elevated topic rather than pandering to the lowest common brony denominator with video game crossovers or self-insert horse-sex fantasies. I like this story.

I have to say I disagree with the philosophy of it, though.

They were not uncaring entities on a higher plane of existence. They were actively supporting the planet in a crazed cycle of renewal.

Every human endeavor is made in opposition to nature. The "crazed cycle of renewal" gave us 20-30 year lives filled with hunger, sickness, and bloodshed. The universe is not a pretty place. It is a dead, unfeeling machine filled with strife and suffering that cares nothing for you or your loved ones. For millennia, the world was a place where only the strong and lucky survived. Infant mortality was commonplace, and people just had to scrape together what food they could find and hope to not fall prey to disease, predators, or other humans while parasites gnawed at their guts. It is only now that we have begun controlling the elements that we've been able to elevate ourselves. I like having a life expectancy of 80 years, and medicine that can cure diseases that used to be fatal, and a big store full of food that I can buy when I'm hungry. Nature didn't give that to us. We took it.

1692530 Well, I wrote this 'philosophy' at three in the morning while I was high on strawberry flavoured water. I'm not sure if I agree with most of it. Still, the general idea that I was trying to convey is that life goes on.

A good read this story has been seems to be to short a comment on this story, sadly it is the greatest length I could originally make it.
So, to remedy, a good story has been read - says I.

a pony story about philosophy? I do not regret my decision to follow you, even though it was for a stupid reason. Good stories.
But this, IT SHALL HAVE TO WAIT!

1710425 It was written because I needed some way to vent about something that happened to me. Then I decided to post it. Apparently it's not too bad, but I digress.

1710429 Not bad,I do not see why you posted such thoughts onto a pony fiction site, still good job.
