This was a great story, really well done. I'd add it to my favourites, but I can't find out how on earth you do it!
I actually thought that meant they fixed it, considering Pinkie Pie's story about Surprise.
Also, the "Who is this pony?" test won't accept Fluttershy as a tree.

I don't quite understand what 'Surprise' was doing there at the end. It wasn't meant to be a troll ending if that's how you interpreted it. The ending just reassures that despite Rainbows infertility problem Soarin' will still be dedicated to her and not abandon her for another mare.
"We'll make this work" is how it ends but if you go over the doctors dialogue there is the suggestion that she could one day have children (something RD didn't pick up on) just not the natural way.
it can be inferred that Dash and Soarin' do end up having a kid. the "-surprise" isn't trolling, its hinting that they have a surprise foal. pretty badass if you ask me
I did not see surprise.... just blank, however since the doctor did say she couldn't have them naturally...there are other means and the author explains this

The sadder or heart-touching something is... the more energy I get. No tears... energy. Is it a dark soul?
I just finished, and I feel like I could explode with the strength of a thousand nukes. So yeah, I liked it.
While granted, there's a lot of inferring on how Dash could still have children, a lot of discussion on that mystery "-Surprise," as well as the huge blank spot at the end, I for one wish to see this story finish. Yes, Soarin reassuring Dash is good, but how do her friends react? Does Twilight immediately start researching for a solution? Fluttershy comforting Dash? Pinky throwing some sort of "Make Rainbow Dash Feel OK" party?
It's a good way to end a chapter, but not a story.

This needs an "I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant" sequel. That would make everything better.
The story is great and well told, but it was a bit too sexualized for my tastes. Still, I love what you've got here.
The ending of this story was not there for me. It was quite abrupt and then really give any closer. The pairings were cute, but its sort of odd that Rainbow Dash won't even have time to write her friends over all of those years she was on tour. Leaving out Applejack during the meeting was odd and seemed not Applejack like. Overall this was a 3.5/5 for me.

(and appearantly that is a field of study in Equestria, lest the Doc would not mention it.)
..and on top of that she has the (as in: THE) highest. possible. ranking. magic wielders. in Equestria as acquaintances.
Moreso, Twi, one of her best friends (propably being one of them by now) has at least one Princess basically on speed-dial!
Battle-plan for this:
- secure emotional backup (Soarin) > check
- tell a horribly worried Twilight what the deal is (equalling pretty much sic'ing her on the task)
- sit back and 'watch the puppets dance' so to speak..
Tell you what, even though the story ended open-ended,
Cosmo was so nice as to supply us with enough reason to think if it is ever possible, it WILL work out.

Great story, though it was a tad bit surprising when Dash started getting eaten out at the podium. Was rather more risqué than I was expecting when I started reading it on a bike at the gym, felt it was best at that point to switch to another story, heh.
I've gotta ask, when Pinkie said that Surprise was a surprise, did she just go into labour in the middle of the work day one day and give birth in the middle of her shift without going to the hospital?

Having read this, that was my first guess, but after 118486 's comment, I reread the relevant statement. I am now of the opinion that she isn't infertile per say, as much as being unable to carry to term. Harvest a few eggs, do a little artificial insemination, find a genetically compatible surrogate mother to carry the child to term, and problem solved.

Yeah although because this is like nine years in the future its not likely we'll be able to see a scootadopt.
The other option is my OC. He knows many spells and a few of them can help with fertility problems.
That's heavy and rather depressing....................
