A short, but nonetheless entertaining piece.

1625367 A bit bummed out it got buried under a mountain of other stories in the middle of the night, but that's the downside to having people approve each story by hand, I guess.

A delicious slice of Apple.

Very nice philosophical, thoughtful chapter. Like'd and Fave'd. :ajsmug:

Thanks! - Sorin "Kalreas" Kanire

1626286>>1625556 Glad you two enjoyed :)

Yup! Keep it as a Complete fic, though. If you wanna go further with the story, start a new one. This is nice and self contained.

1626639 Yeah, this was never really meant to go beyond what I already have written. I think anything more would just be beating a dead horse, no pun intended. :ajsmug:

So, Big Mac is getting older and still hasn't found a girlfriend yet?

Ouch. Been there, buddy.

I guess now we know why there are so many Big Mac ships. This is the alternative, man.

1626682
My headcanon for this is now that he sleeps with many mares and stallions, but always uses protection because he hasn't found that real special somepony yet. :twilightblush:

1626769 1626763 Ahaha, and that's why he goes in early from work. Gotta save his strength for where it really matters.

Big Mac ships are meant to sail, man. With a body like that (if we assume ponies have similar priorities of fitness as an attractive trait) no ship is unjustified. :twilightblush:

Now that I think of it, the nature of pony concepts of beauty versus human ones might be interesting to cross examine.

Now that I think of it, the nature of pony concepts of beauty versus human ones might be interesting to cross examine.

That would be really hard then. Human concepts of beauty are all over the place, some liking people who are thin or fat, or curvy, or short, or tall, or so on and so on. I'd say that one concept of beauty that both humans and ponies could agree on is,

"True beauty is on the inside."

1626854>>1626879 I think as far as anthropomorphized ponies like on the show, tastes in attractiveness would vary as much as human tastes do. Biologically and from an evolutionist point of view, there are standards as to what we should find attractive (large breasts for nursing and wide hips for birthing in women, strong bodies for providing food in men, etc) but that goes out the window because of our tendency to place emotional importance on other aspects of people based on personal experiences (mostly in childhood), which leads to individual preferences and fetishes. Since the ponies in the show are much closer to people than actual ponies in their personalities, I'd say it's safe to assume that each mare and stallion would have different tastes when it comes to what they find attractive in a mate. :moustache:

A dark night in the library.
The unhinged laugh of a unicorn pushed too far.
The wet splatter of blood on wooden floors.
A love spurned.
A revelation gained at horrific cost.
The sight of viscera exposed to moonlight.
Twilight Sparkle seeing true beauty at last.
On the inside.

Oh wow, somepony trying to be scary. On the internet. Didn't see that one coming.

1627033
I'm sorry, that wasn't an attempt to be scary. It just sorta came into my head and I figured it might get a chuckle or two from people.

I will gladly remove if if you think it offensive or in particularly poor taste.

I feel kinda bad for coming across as an Internet Tough Guy now. :facehoof:

1627047

Oh, don't worry about it. Tell ya what, I'll go read one of your fanfics.

1627056
I, uh, haven't written any. My sense of tone and taste in themes doesn't lend itself well to cheerful and friendly ponies, and I content myself with reading other works in that regard.

I'm not sure if you mean that I am expected to produce one, and if so I suppose I could try?

1627050
I'm glad you liked it.

1627127

yeah, go ahead. Give it your best shot, man. Darkfics can be pretty awesome when the author knows what he's doing. Eyes Without A Face is a damn good read because of it. So's Pagliacci.

1627211
I wouldn't call my normal work as dark to the extent night would be, nor is it cheery and sunlit. What I write tends to be more of the surreal twilight variety.

... oh wow, totally didn't intend a Best Pony reference there, or I'd claim it was me being clever. Only noticed it as I checked my spelling. :facehoof:
