These are the untold tales of Xenophilia. Alternate paths that weren't followed, light vignettes, views into the characters you never thought you would see.
I hope that this shall put some of the clamors for Lyra to rest, at least until the cries for more begin .
Archonix has done an incredible job with this, and he's really captured the spirit of Xenophilia's Lyra, so give him some love everypony; he deserves it.
I'd better just add a comment right at the start. It's fun wrting in this 'verse, for reasons I have never been able to articulate. I hope you all enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed creating it, and thanks once again to AnonAuthor for setting all of this in motion with his wonderful work, and AnonponyDASHIE for putting it all together.
Ah, Lyra.... I love exploration of her character, especially in this set universe. I... threw my chance away when I mentioned her in the first part of the first chapter of mines. Oh man. I think that's gonna bite me in the ass soon.
I'm glad you found it funny, though. I always wanted to hint the name being the same as yours (and AnonAuthor), but Harry, being weirded out at Eve's insistence of calling it Mr. Happy, just gave up looking for the proper name.
EDIT:
It kind of makes me wonder if some unicorns might enchant theirs to give them feeling as well.
Finally. Lyra's part in Lero's herd needed to be told. I hope we get more from her perspective soon, as I find the eloquent and poetic way Lyra is written in the Xenophilia-verse fascinating.
1726730 Well, the use of coolers in the Xenophilia universe has always been viewed as sort of a friends helping friends with a sometimes slightly embarrassing natural biological function. There would be little to no feeling involved for the top mare, emotionally or physically, during the act.
However, Eve calling her's Mr Happy just makes me wonder if she (and perhaps other unicorns with the same desire) might have enchanted their coolers to provide physical feeling for the "giving" mare.
No you just made me want more , because you just showed tip of iceberg without showing the rest. For god sake just more and more. It is like a really long trailer showing tips of everything but leaving so much desire to see whole and even more. So More Lyra and Lero stories.... well forget more Xenophilia stories.
Interesting thought. What I had in mine was actually a tool that could be used by its owner independently. It could be translated as it being enchanted, or have accessories that help any mare set it up easily.
Though, I guess, its annoying for those without a horn. I can't imagine how many straps, rubber tubing and pumps non-unicorn mares will have to use, maybe bordering to impractical.
Um, let's stick with this story, though. As much as I'd love to discuss this, this isn;'t the place.
I demand more! Seriously, the way you wrote Lyra reminds me of her Background Pony portrayal which is miles higher than her 'obsessed with hands' cliched portrayal that writers tend to give her hope to see more Lyra in Side Stories, along with many more chapters of what basically equates to the Hobbit and the Silmarillion of Xenophilia (yes, I just compared Xenophilia to Lord of the Rings)
I quite enjoyed this new installment, it makes the story feel more complete. What with the background of what Lyra was up to the whole time and how she finally gets up the courage to join the herd. I look forward to more side stories, especially ones with the full herd. I do hope when will be posted of Lyra's first time in bed with them, as I have a feeling it would be quite humorous. Keep it up guys, you're doing great keeping this epic tale alive.
That was incredibly well-written. I don't even know how to express my feelings on it. I find Lyra so entertaining in how relaxed and cryptic she is, and the method you use of describing conversations and the flow of everything around them, was incredibly poetic.
My hat is off to you, sir. Time to check your other work.
That was nice, as was the music selection : ) Not that I wouldn't like to know what happened from there or even over that missing month, it's a beautiful world that your building beautiful buildings on.
Consider me already clamoring for more. Mischievous, unflappable Lyra becomes painfully uncertain Lyra. I want to know how she got back to being the unicorn who asked Twilight about the poetry of Twilight's soul.
1727004 If anyone deserves the accolade it's AnonAuthor. They came up with the characterisation, I just fleshed it out a little. Okay a lot. But the source is what matters.
1727078 Sleep is a wonderful thing. Use it wisely, my friend.
1727347 I know for certain they'll be bringing plenty more for us to read. Even me. Xeno has pushed me to be a little more experimental in my writing... we'll say no more for now.
1727379 I hope you enjoy it! Be careful though, some of it was written after a 4-year hiatus so it's a little klunky.
1727427 Whilst we can never know every single moment, it's certain we'll be seeing more.
If you want more of that music go and pick up anything by Lisa Lynne and Aryeh Frankfurter. They are musical genii, very ethreal and inspirational, and I listened to almost nothing else when I was writing this. I think it shows. dl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/emoticons/misc_Lyra2.png
As the pony said 'The moment is all we have' so it's good to know we may read more of them.
I don't know if that made previously hung sword more poignant or more tragic. Either way I suppose it's just my nature to want them to buck fate and have a happily ever after, even if they have to work for it.
Wow. Very nice work on this chapter. Honestly this chapter captured everything perfectly. Lyra's personality was perfectly done, the reasons why she wanted to court Lero, fitting everything into the timeline of the story, all of it.
Xenophilia was fantastic in its own right, and this along with the Xenophile's Guide just make it even better. I look forward to seeing what else you guys have in store for us. Though if you're willing to, or interested in, suggestions or thoughts for what you could do in future chapters, I'd like to see one on what brought Lero to Equestria in the first place. There was a pretty big foreshadowing moment in the main story when Celestia mentions that by suppressing his memories he would be less able to identify his tormentors should they ever appear again, so I'm kinda interested in seeing what you guys had/have in mind for that.
Bon Bon circled the hole again, peeing down into the dim space.
That dirty bitch, peeing into a hole someone is working in. How ungrateful is she? Reading that typo was quite enjoyable. Maybe you shouldn't change it. The next lines make it even better, "Do you need anything? A drink maybe?" No Bon-Bon, I am sure he has just had enough to drink.
The scene is Rarity's shop had me thinking of Lyra walking to the show, thinking of actually playing for others. And I knew, only one song could fit that scene.
I really don't know why, I think I just like the mental picture of a pony strutting down a road, their face filled with purpose.
This was quite a wonderful little chapter. I've been a fan of the series from the start, quite enjoying the lovely attention to world building and cultural differences. Archonix's guide has been an interesting alternative examination of the world and story that has provided a great, if somewhat different, look into the universe. Because of the style differences, I had been somewhat apprehensive in regards to how this chapter turned out.
It did not disappoint. I was very impressed at how well the story rang true to the style and tone of the other chapters. Lyra's development was great and really beautifully fleshed out a, until this point, rather unknown in the more narrative portion of the series. Thanks for keeping the series wonderful Arch. Can't wait for more
This was beautiful. There's really no other word for it. Many readers would skip over much of Lyra's musings and thoughts and register them as philosophical mumbo-jumbo, but when you actually read the words, and take what you can from them, this chapter takes on a new depth that i have not seen outside of critically acclaimed published works before. Archonix, you are a master of words, and truly captured the spirit that seems to come with being a grandmaster of the Still Way. I congratulate and salute you, and look forward to reading the rest of your works.
Great work archy. I like this side story from Lyra's side of the story to how she eventually join the herd in in your part of the site. I remember that you wrote about Rainbow remembering that Lyra wanted Lero too and mentally slapped herself in the face for forgetting about that. I also like the way you had that Lyra is also somewhat monogamist like Lero, since she was sad to find out that Rainbow got him, and especially how she always seems to be following the Still Way almost in a literal sense. Her attitude to sit things out almost made her miss Lero and I was glad that she ended up joining them in your book. But I was worried about how she would have reacted when Lero proposed to Rainbow and thanks to some implications in your story I'm kind of glad that it seems like more ponies can join the herd even after they get married.
Archonix... Jesus man... This was a wonderful work of art, and if anyone ever had any doubts about the quality of your work, this would silence the worst doubters out there. This was an excellent piece on Lyra, and it captured her character amazingly well. Makes me hope for a Xeno Pt 2 where this gets more elaboration, as I think you have thoroughly captivated folks and that they now want to see more of Lyra with Lero, Dash and Twi.
Very damn good job, again, and to reiterate again as it cannot be said enough, you, AA, and AnonDashie have done a damn good job and continue to do so on a very frequent basis. Looking forward to more from all three of you wonderful writers in the future!
I remember when the original story finished, thinking "ahh, once again the end of something awesome." Then the side stories and the Xenophiles guide popped up. Everyone involved in writing these stories are all doing a great job at keeping this epic story/universe going and epic.
1726620 Somehow I doubt that the cries will ever end, even if AA were to write a Part 2 to Xenophilia. When you've got something so wonderfully done, it takes a lot before folks get their fill. I mean, this monster of a story has started something like 3-6 'side stories' now I believe. It is really early to claim, but if given the time it could possibly spin off stuff like Fallout Equestria managed to do, if that makes sense.
I truly do enjoy the works y'all put out, and since so many others have already clamored for more, I won't reiterate it. : )
I hope that this shall put some of the clamors for Lyra to rest, at least until the cries for more begin .
Archonix has done an incredible job with this, and he's really captured the spirit of Xenophilia's Lyra, so give him some love everypony; he deserves it.
Yes... I shall now get more readers when I post.....
Uh... *sees everyone*
Nothing to see here folks.
XD
Gonna give it a read now. Damn need sleep, but you come first.
I'd better just add a comment right at the start. It's fun wrting in this 'verse, for reasons I have never been able to articulate. That was fast, have you been waiting all day hitting F5 for this since I said it was coming on Friday? dl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/emoticons/misc_Colgate_bedroomeyes.png
1726669
Yes. Was there really any doubt?
Ah, Lyra.... I love exploration of her character, especially in this set universe. I... threw my chance away when I mentioned her in the first part of the first chapter of mines. Oh man. I think that's gonna bite me in the ass soon.
*continued reading*
1726695
BTW, I forgot to comment in your story but I loved your mention of the "coolers", and I nearly died at Eve calling her's Mr. Happy dl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/emoticons/misc_Octavia_plot.png
It kind of makes me wonder if some unicorns might enchant theirs to give them feeling as well. dl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/emoticons/misc_Spitfire_rape.png
1726709
Well, I didn't exactly call it that. xD
I'm glad you found it funny, though. I always wanted to hint the name being the same as yours (and AnonAuthor), but Harry, being weirded out at Eve's insistence of calling it Mr. Happy, just gave up looking for the proper name.
EDIT:
Whatcha mean?
Hm. Commence read.
Oh, come on guys... me and archnox can't be the only ones commenting?
*still reading*
I envy how you guys can write in length.
i loved it it was very touching and very sensai like in the story
1726838 It's not the length that counts yadda yadda...
... sorry, that was a terrible joke and I'm terribly ashamed.
1726847
True, but I still get rather jealous.
Finally. Lyra's part in Lero's herd needed to be told. I hope we get more from her perspective soon, as I find the eloquent and poetic way Lyra is written in the Xenophilia-verse fascinating.
1726709
i heart those chapters
1726730

1726620
I have been sated.
1726885
Ah, okay, gotcha.
Interesting thought. What I had in mine was actually a tool that could be used by its owner independently. It could be translated as it being enchanted, or have accessories that help any mare set it up easily.

And I'm still reading.
1726662
You, my friend, have a beautiful way of writing. I love the way you characterised Lyra, her little quirks and all.
I demand more!
Seriously, the way you wrote Lyra reminds me of her Background Pony portrayal
which is miles higher than her 'obsessed with hands' cliched portrayal that writers tend to give her
hope to see more Lyra in Side Stories, along with many more chapters of what basically equates to

Okay. Another great chapter.
Amazing, Archonix. Made me jealous, and wanting to explore a Lyra story. Though... yeah, I am going to think about what I just said there.
I can finally... sleep.
Later guys.
Holy fuck.
Beautiful.
Great work, archonix.
Hot...damn.
This is getting more and more incredible!
>Lyra let her thoughts flow and Fluttershy did whatever a Fluttershy might do, until she broke the silence.
What a truly delightful line this is.
I'm not sure what to say but there was defiantly a dreamy sigh in my room at the end there.
I quite enjoyed this new installment, it makes the story feel more complete. What with the background of what Lyra was up to the whole time and how she finally gets up the courage to join the herd. 1726662 Amazing work there Archonix! It was deep and fascinating and fun all in one ! Really nice!
Also
and
I see what you did there
If there is "Zen and the Art of Xenophilic Companionship", this would be it.
That was nice, as was the music selection : )
Not that I wouldn't like to know what happened from there or even over that missing month, it's a beautiful world that your building beautiful buildings on.
You guys are really helping me get through my finals with your awesome writing. Thank you.

1726860 Same here, which is why I seem to have fixated on her just a tiny little bit...
1726893 Always leave em begging.
1726972 Thank you! She's fun.

Well, glad I could clarify.
I think this is my favorite chapter in the xenophilia saga, let me check.
Yup, best chapter and best Lyra.
1727536
As the pony said 'The moment is all we have' so it's good to know we may read more of them.

Wow. Lyra is seeming very 'Background Pony'ish here. Was that intentional or just a complete accident?

This is definitely my new favorite Lyra fanon.
