Twisted - UnlicensedBrony

ā€œGet your ass out of my face!ā€

ā€œI ain't exactly got much room to manoeuvre, RD.ā€

ā€œWell, could you at least move your elbow? It's lodged in my stomach.ā€

ā€œIf ya don't like it, then quit. Get off my back.ā€

ā€œNever! Pinkie, spin the thing!ā€

ā€œYessir!ā€

Rainbow strained her neck trying to look over at Pinkie. Or anywhere but at Applejack's butt. While the two of them were struggling to hold their awkward position on the mat, Pinkie was manning the spinner, and Rarity was staring at them in amazement, having forgotten the nail brush she still held in her hand.

ā€œLeft foot, green!ā€ Pinkie declared.

ā€œEasy,ā€ said Rainbow, effortlessly shifting her foot from a blue spot to the adjacent green one.

ā€œApplejack... right hand, blue!ā€

After a moment of struggling, Applejack moved her elbow from Rainbow's stomach. ā€œDone.ā€

ā€œYay! Rainbow Dash... right knee, green!ā€

Rainbow cringed. She took her time to think about it, but there was just no way. In the end, she managed to get her knee half way there, wobbled, and collapsed. As she fell, she knocked her partner off balance, and Applejack fell on top of her.

Rainbow groaned, Pinkie cheered, ā€œApplejack wins!ā€ and Rarity went back to painting her nails, pretending that she hadn't been watching intently for the past however long it'd been.

Applejack rolled off to one side, giving Rainbow room to breathe. ā€œThink that's game, Sugarcube. And no, I ain't goin' best of five. I'm beat.ā€

Rainbow sat up, rubbing her stiff neck. ā€œYeah, alright, you win. This time.ā€

Pinkie clapped excitedly. ā€œYay, Applejack! How long was it that time, Rarity?ā€

Rarity didn't look up from painting her nails. ā€œOh, about twenty minutes after you and I were out.ā€

ā€œNo way!ā€ said Pinkie. ā€œHow are you guys so good at this?ā€

Rainbow shrugged. ā€œWe've had practise,ā€ she said, without thinking.

Pinkie cocked her head to one side. Now Rarity looked up, attention perked. ā€œHave you, now? I thought you said you hadn't played Twister in ages.ā€

Rainbow's eyes glazed over. ā€œWe... haven't.ā€

ā€œBut you just said you've had practise, darling.ā€

Rainbow exchanged a glance with Applejack, who was throwing a panicked look her way. Her face heated up. ā€œUh, yeah, I meant we haven't played it with you guys. We've practised privately--ā€

ā€œSeparately,ā€ said Applejack hastily. ā€œWe both practise privately, on our own. Not together.ā€

Rarity blinked and deadpanned, ā€œSo, you each practise playing Twister, alone, with no other players.ā€

ā€œThat's right,ā€ said Rainbow. ā€œI mean, obviously! Duh. If it was the two of us together then that'd be weird. Yeah we don't do that right AJ?ā€

ā€œ'Course not.ā€

Rarity and Pinkie stared blankly for a very long moment. A bead of sweat rolled down Rainbow's forehead.

Then Pinkie broke into a grin. ā€œThat's brilliant! I am so finding time for a regular private Twister practise session. You guys better be ready next time, 'cause I will be!ā€

ā€œHeh, great,ā€ said Rainbow, pretending to scratch her head and hiding her face. A long silence followed.

ā€œSo, uh, I think that's enough Twister for tonight,ā€ said Applejack. She got to her feet and stretched. ā€œI'm gonna go make a sandwich. Anyone want one?ā€

ā€œOh, make me one!ā€ said Pinkie.

Sensing an opportunity to get out of the room, Rainbow got to her feet. ā€œI'll help.ā€

ā€œSuits me,ā€ said Applejack. As they both crossed out of earshot and into the kitchen, Applejack let out a breath and bumped Rainbow on the arm. ā€œDodged a bullet there.ā€

ā€œYou said it.ā€

Back in the living room, Rarity sighed. ā€œDo you think those two are ever going to come out to us?ā€

ā€œI give 'em two more weeks before they crack,ā€ said Pinkie sagely.
