TheAlmightySage

Hello there, I'm a slightly original writer trying his best to improve and meet unreasonable deadlines, that are already due.

E

This is a rewrite of the prologue from the 1984 illustrated television prologue of Frank Herbert's Dune. One of the greatest science fiction books ever written.

Chapters (1)

I honestly have no real reason for writing this aside from sheer boredom at work, too much YouTube and Netflix, and too much mint green tea.

Anyways I actually kinda like how this turned out. Chapter 6 for Cousins should be up by next week, I think. And that other story maybe ready in a couple weeks.

And here's a link for any of you who have no idea what Dune is. And you should be ashamed of yourselves! Or something.

I really enjoyed that, but I am left wanting more. I guess I seriously need to consider rewriting Dune in Pony format...

Damn, that would be one hell of a commitment, lol.

Yeah, the sheer size of the Dune novel is what's stopping from trying it.

I truly wish this could have been a thing, but I must ask. How did you plan to get around the reversal of gender of the main character when one of the main plot points of the dune series is that Paul is the Quizats Haderach (don't feel like looking up how to spell that). Although then again you could just say that Twilight Velvet was supposed to have a boy as the first Neo-Alicorn was prophesied to be a boy.

Dang, if Dune wasn't so long I might be tempted to ask to inherit this idea and run with it.

Pretty much like you said. Meant to be a colt, but was born a filly.

Honestly if I pick this back up, edit the crap out of the prologue, and start with novel as setting it would eat up ALL of my time and a large portion of my sanity. :pinkiecrazy: It'd be fun to write I think, but the sheer volume of lore and depth of the Dune novel is very intimidating.

Started reading the first Dune book today, and on a whim thought to check and see what sort of things people created between ponies and this magnum opus of Science Fiction.
