The first part of this fic is pretty OOC, but in a good way. It shows us that even a filly at that age Pinkie was in could still be hurt and has a lot of emotion within them. Overall, this format of this story was very clever. Letters to the focus of a sorrowful past are a very somber note to play on, and you did it beautifully. So, this story is quite magnificent CG. You even managed to bring a tear to me eye. Bravo. Definitely my favorite one-shot you've done so far.

That was both painful to read and beautifully written. Very clever leaving the recipients name omitted.

Very very good story.
The pony that threw away friendship with Pinkie has absolutely no idea what she has lost.

What's with you and all these one-shots?

At first I didnt know who the pony speaking was ('cause I'm dumb:derpytongue2:) but then I was like:pinkiegasp:
And then I was like :fluttercry: because poor Pinkie.
You made a great story, have a mustache:moustache:
and a brohoof /)

Inspiration is a very fickle thing....
Are you complaining? :raritywink:

So many questions about the pony that hurt Pinkie... is it a mare or colt? Where does s/he live? And will somepony please kick his flank across Equestria for hurting Pinkie???

yeah, who was this pony? Beautiful story by the way.

Yeah... I too am curious who could hurt such a beautiful pony with as big and fun loving heart as Pinkie.

I love this story. It tells of the pain of betrayal, and how true friends can take that. Pain, and replace it with happiness and joy unsurpassed.

A child's heart is a fragile thing. I remember how much it hurt when a friend of mine just decided one day that I wasn't cool enough to hang with, stopped talking to me or even acknowledging my presence. The jerk.

I don't think we need to know who her former friend was, the story works just fine as is. It was a jerk who decided that popularity was more important than true friendship... or... maybe, just maybe, Pinkie unknowingly hurt him/her with something she said or did without reflecting on it, and broke things off because of that. Who knows? Everyone is the hero of their own story.

What we do know, though, is this: that night, on the Summer Sun Celebration, Twilight wasn't the only one to make friends.

Poignant. Earned a like.

I'm glad you liked it :3

Wow, this is beautifully made, I....I don't even know what to say about it. It is pretty sad, and I don't normally read a lot of truly sad stories. Usually if I read any "sad" stories it still ends up at least somewhat happy in the end or has an alternate ending.:derpytongue2: So to get me to enjoy a story like this or one of your other sad stories like "He'll ever leave me", and the sequel (both of which I also thoroughly enjoyed) Kinda says a lot on it's own. I do like sad on it's own once in a while, but it's not often I favorite them. But there's just something about this story that particularly stands out, I really don't know how to form what I'm thinking into coherent sentences. Really all I can say is I love the feels it gave me and the premise of the story, even though it's about bad memories, it almost feels just a little bit sweet in a way, like bittersweet I guess. Anyways I'm gonna stop rambling on trying to figure out how to word this and just say great job dude, I'm very impressed :raritystarry:

As much as I am loving your praise, I do have to correct you on one thing,
"He'll Never Leave Me" wasn't mine, so I can't take the credit for it. Only the sequel was mine, and it was done as a loving fan work, with permission from the original author.

3585791 Oh, I guess I missed that :twilightblush: Well, the sequel was still good at least:twilightsheepish: But ya, I really enjoyed this, only complaint I might have is it's a bit ooc, but Pinkie is a really hard character to write her thoughts for. Especially fro sad fics like this, besides I've seen that more somber kinda of writting style for fics about Pinkie's past before, and this is still kinda of like that. So, ya. I almost feel as if I'm being too gushy sometimes, but I really don't have that big of complaints :derpytongue2:

It's meant to be more written from the "Pinkamena" side of our dear Pinks than the one we usually see, and I feel that the bitter, nostalgic narration suited the glimpse we all seen in Party of One, as I was trying to stick more to her canon personality than the rather terrifying fanon one XD
Some people might not like how I chose to narrate it, but still like the story itself, and that's perfectly fine, I'm still happy to have made them feel a little. But that's why I chose such a sombre style.
And please, gush away my dear~ No-one's complaining :raritywink:

3587116 Ya, I really do like that type of somber writing style. Even from her Pinkamena side, I don't think it entirely fits, but it certainly doesn't take away, if anything it adds to it.
.......hmm, that kinda of writting style could work perfect for my story fate :trixieshiftright:.......well dang, now you've got me inspired:pinkiegasp:

Yay I inspired someone! :yay:

Now I wanna know who the other filly was.

I just read this story again and even the second time round I almost cried. :pinkiesad2:
Great story XD

Hello! Have a review. An interesting idea and rather poignant at its best. Maybe a little one-note and inevitably dated in places, though.
