this can lead somewhere but why did it get a thumb down?

Interesting start. I can only guess which clans everypony else would be in. Pinkie as a Malkavian is almost obvious, RD as a Brujah is easy to imagine as well. Maybe Rarity as a Toreador or Ventrue. So many possibilities. I'll be following this.

Ooh, I was thinking about this for awhile.
I'll have to keep an eye on this.

Just a guess, going by the cover image, character personalities, and stuff...

Applejack = Ventrue
Fluttershy = Gangrel (my 2nd favorite clan)
Rarity = Toreador
Pinkie Pie = Malkavian
Rainbow Dash = Brujah
Twilight Sparkle = Tremere (my favorite clan)

Now, time to start reading.

1522018

If the author goes by the images made by Rhanite then:

Applejack = Giovani
Fluttershy = Tzmichi
Rarity = Toreador
Pinkie Pie = Malkavian
Rainbow Dash = Brujah
Twilight Sparkle = Tremere
Celestia= Ventrue
Luna= Lasombra

A few erors, missing words and such but otherwise awesome.

Cant wait to see more of this. :pinkiehappy:

But this being an alternate universe (not just by tag obviously) we will need a better insight on everything i think. This is more Chapter 1 then a prologue since the focus wasnt really the background and setting things up.

Okay, I've read it. It's definitely not bad, so I'm looking forward to the next chapters.
By the way, those pictures were the reason I bought the game a couple of months ago.
Child of Toreador.

Dang. Too little, too late. Hope you do well with the story!

1522208What's 'too little, too late'?:rainbowhuh: I'm going to need some context here

1522243 I had much of the same concept, except I was going to go new World. Only I'm REALLY bad at trying to find the words to start the story, and finding the words to help it flow smoothly.

1522177
I kinda ran with the assumption that the mane 6 would be on the same side, but I was not too far off on the guesses. The last time I played Vampire the Masquerade Gangrel was still apart of the Camarilla so I may be a little out of the loop as far as recent events in the game.
I will have to look up Rhanite's work when I have time.:twilightsheepish:

YES!

Finaly someone writes a fic to this amazing pic. :pinkiehappy:

Can't wait for this story to evolve. :twilightsmile:

It was good, but towards the end your paragraphs got a bit... clunky, I think the word is. Might want to watch out for that.

Now excuse me, but I have to go read up on VtM now, on account of never having played it.

Im sorry...Requiem is better. At least from a pnp stand point.

this.
yes.

malkav gangrel and tremere are not hard to assign
the other three of the mane 6... i dunno.

THIS IS RELEVANT TO MY INTERESTS

An Old World of Darkness fic? My prayers are answered. Even better in that it's Vampire: the Masquerade.

1522310
In Rhanites pics they assigned who the artist thought would be "best", regardless of side.

My bad, its Tzimisce and i honestly hope that nope Fluttershy wont be one, because they are abominations. Have a short one:

If you described a Tzimisce as inhuman and sadistic, it would probably commend you for your perspicacity on the inhumanity, and then demonstrate that your mortal definition of sadism was laughably inadequate.

:twilightoops:

If you described a Tzimisce as inhuman and sadistic, it would probably commend you for your perspicacity on the inhumanity, and then demonstrate that your mortal definition of sadism was laughably inadequate.

That could be a discription for all the Sabbat clans and most if not all the Camarilla clans to. :duck:

I hope Fluttershy is a Tzimisce because it was the clan I used to play when my goodie two shoe GM allowed it. The good thing about VM is that there are standards for the difrent clans, but it up to the player to choose if they want to act on it. I'm sure Fluttershy would be the most loveble and nice Tzimisce in the history of the clan.

And I have to admidt that I would love to see Angel as a Tzimisce Goul. :rainbowwild:

Finally I must admidt that I can't see Fluttershy as any Clan if we follow the clan traits one hundred procent. :scootangel:

the pinky on you cover gives me the willies :fluttershbad:

1522801

It could be used for all but even among most of them Tzimisce are considered sadistic and "monsters" arent they?

Flutters would probably make Angel a part of herself or something. :flutterrage:

good first chapter, gonna follow this, even though i normally stay away from crossovers.

alt universe: what is different? (if it's going to be revealed through the story then please say so)
crossover: do need to have played vampire:the masquerade? i've talked to my friends about it slightly some time ago, but i still don't know which species of vampire is which...

1522310
It's always possible to be antitribu and be on a different side of the fence than the rest of your clan (although Tremere antitribu get hunted down like the dogs they are! //dl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/emoticons/misc_Twilight_crazy.png )

Also -- according to the Camarilla -- every vampire is a member of the Camarilla, even the Sabbat vampires.

1522712
Social Darwinists who seek physical and spiritual perfection? What's wrong with that? //dl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/Fluttershy_lolface.png

1523358
Just because they can fleshcraft, doesn't mean that's all they can do. Tzimisce keep servants and slaves, for example.

1524012
Short descriptions of the clans --
Giovanni: in short, the Mafia with necromancers
Tzimisce: Social Darwinists that can mold flesh like putty
Toreador: Artists and innovators obsessed with beauty
Malkavian: Lunatics with a penchant for divination
Brujah: Violent anarchists
Tremere: Blood magicians, originally mages from the Order of Hermes
Ventrue: Politicians (*shudder*)
Lasombra: Elitist keepers of the night, with power over the shadows
Caitiff: Clanless

There are more; Assamite, Setite, Gangrel, Nosferatu, Ravnos, and plenty of bloodlines shooting off the main clans besides.

A ghoul is A living creature given a regular dose of vampire blood; he becomes addicted to the blood, which a vampire will often use to enslave the ghoul.

1524778
thank you, that's very useful:pinkiegasp:, will be a little hard keeping track of all that though.:twilightsheepish:

1524804
Well, everypony is still a unique individual of course. So for a story, it's more about the individual personalities than the broad strokes the clans are painted with.

[youtube=qANMjwLmo6Y]

1524778
Well you forgot to mention important facts in some but that sums it up pretty much yeah. You should just mention that the Giovanni are not as much a mafia as they are a family, literal one. :rainbowlaugh:

Still there is a lot to read about for anynone interested.

Here is a link listing the 13th "main" clans (from the computer game, where most probably had the intro with the White Wolf Universe):

1523358
I have a bigger problem with Applejack as a Giovani. (I hate those fucking Itais.) :flutterrage:

1521818 If Pinkie became a malkavian, wouldn't that make her sane? :pinkiecrazy:

I've never heard of this 'masarade' thing, but I like. Any story that doesn't have vampires who sparkle is okay in my books.

1530753 Don't worry. All the vamps in the VTM series act like real vampires - seduce humans (or in this case ponies) for blood, no sparkles in the sun crap, the sun kills them on contact.

Malkie pie for the win

1546198Hmm. I always though it was more of burst into flame but if you reach shadows in time you survive but badly burned thing. Guess it varies as much from author to author as it does type to type.

r14

i have bee tying to write a cross over of these two for some time now if i do finsh may i post the name here/ i will message you with it . this looks good cant wait to read a twiligth a tremer just like me.

1546597 In VTM: Bloodlines, Jack mentions that if you catch a sunrise, it is all over for you. Terese uses the threat of a sunrise to coerce you into doing her bidding. The malkavian leader was staked and left for the rising sun, after which you find a pile of ash where he was. it can be assumed that the sun is fatal in this universe.

Yes, I purposefully spelled Thaumaturgy that way. Photo has a very thick accent.:twilightsheepish:

This story is certainly accurate to the World of Darkness.
The Tremere are technically an offshoot of the Tzimizi, formed when they forciably drained a Tzimizi elder.

Looking good thus far

I have a few issues with this chapter. It is, in essence, a thinly veiled infodump. Admittedly, I found it interesting because I am unfamiliar with V:tM, but nothing plot worthy happened, and I feel that the information could have been split up across the next few chapters with out sacrificing the plot—releasing a little nugget of information here or there. Example: you could have had Twilight goinig through some sort of initiation ritual and you could have slid in Star Swirl's name there, or you could have left the Camarilla at a later point, as you havent given me anything other than a name at this point.

Secondly, Twilight is a little too accepting of all this—she is a skeptic who is highly dubious of the existence of the supernatural—I think she would try to find more rational explanations, such as a spell or a potion which slowed down her heart, and that it would take several chapters to come to terms with the fact that she is now a member of the undead.

Thirdly, the loss of her magic should be a pretty big blow to her—her magic is what makes her unique and indicates her position in society, but she accepts it too quickly. Even if she does have a replacement magic, it's going to take time for her to adjust.

Fourthly, Photo Finish having the same cutie mark? Cutie marks are what define an individual as unique. If Photo has exactly the same mark, that means that Twilight isn't unique, or different, but regular and everyday—and Twilight should react appropriately to learning that what makes her unique isn't. This is especially jarring when you consider the wider symbology of her cutie mark—a big purple star (representing the element of magic) with five smaller white stars around it (representing the other elements) and a large white star behind the purple one (representing the Spark).

Fithly, show vs tell. Now to be fair, this is something I have problems with as well, however if I could notice it then something's gone wrong. Example: She now knew that a fraction of that power flowed through her veins, and this filled her with joy. What does this look like? You have told me that Twilight feels happy and powerful. This means nothing. She is just stood there like a porcelain doll whilst the narrator tells me how she feels. Show me how feels—what does the expression on her face look like, how does she handle the fact that she just drank blood? Does she fidget or move? Are her eyes dull and lifeless, or do they dart about in their sockets, staring wildly, or something else? What is Photo Finish's reaction to all this—is she pleased, amused, indifferent? Details, I need details. Have your characters act out what they are feeling—an actor doesn't come on stage and say "I am sad" so why should your characters be any different?

> Fourthly, Photo Finish having the same cutie mark?
Photo Finish actually did share Twilight's cutie mark in Green Isn't Your Color. I believe the animators changed it in Sweet and Elite, but it's the one listed on Photo's trading card. Regardless of opinions on cutie mark uniqueness, having the two characters share their mark it true to canon.

> Cutie marks are what define an individual as unique. If Photo has exactly the same mark, that means that Twilight isn't unique, or different, but regular and everyday
One of the background characters at the Gala also has Twilight's cutie mark. Several stallions at the gala share Prince Blueblood's cutie mark, and Time Turner/Doctor Whooves' hourglass cutie mark is extremely ubiquitous (including Colgate).

1591418
Goratrix used Tzimisce vampires in his experiments on immortality, but since the House Tremere (of the Order of Hermes) were actual magi at the time, they weren't doing anything to the vampires to gain power that another vampire would have done (ie, diablerie). While the Tremere used Tzimisce to create their bloodline, it's not the same sort of relationship as other vampiric lines.

Tremere himself did diablerize Saulot, antideluvian of the Salubri clan, though, in 1133. Then Saulot's soul managed to win control over Tremere's body in 1998, Tremere possessed Etrius and then Goratrix, and then trapped Goratrix's soul in a mirror.

1591937

Huh. Didn't know that. I thought Photo's cutie mark was unknown and it was just added it in for plot reasons (get it, plot?:rainbowlaugh:)

1591937 Certainly didn't know all of that. Just that the other clans regard the Tremere as upstarts who cheated and stole their way to immortality, and that even amongst the varied powers of the clans, Thautamurgy is considered unnatural.

Someone just need to ponyfy this and we have a trailer to this story. :pinkiehappy:

It just hit me how well Rainbow Dash fits for a Brujah:

Clan powers: Strength, Speed, Charisma

Clan weakness: short fuse

1547015 Sunlight causes serious burns, yes. But vampires are also sluggish during the day (the less "human" they are, the harder it is for them to wake up. So, if you have a shootout inside a building and a stream of light hits you through a bullet hole in the shutters, it will be like someone extinguishing a cigarette on your skin. But if you get thrown out of the window into the street, you will burn to death before you can make it to the shadow.

Also, I assume it is a crossover with VTM and not the whole old World of Darkness? Otherwise Photo Finish would be wrong - turning a true mage into a blood mage is a horrible waste of potential.

1591894 It is actually required - since a vampire parent is responsible for all of his child's actions until it is fully acknowledged in Kindred society, it is his duty to infodump the neonate at this point. Most vampire players have to go through this at the beginning of every new campaign. :coolphoto:

I am actually expecting more of that - she still needs to learn the actual rules (don't create progeny of your own without permission, don't mouth off to a vampire on his home turf, no drinking elder vampires to death to steal their powers, that kind of stuff)

I always imagined the ponified Tremere as a purely unicorn group (former magicians and all that) with some of the other races in it as a exception. True enough that we have to yet see the extent of at least the chantry Twilight is part of.

Maybe that will be the case for the Ventrue here though.

And keep forgeting this has the AU tag, always keep thinking to how Photo was seen outside during daylight in the episode. :rainbowlaugh:

And wonder who the "Prince/ess" of Canterlot is that allowed Twilight to be sired.

Or didnt any and she will end up being the target of a Blood Hunt? :rainbowlaugh:

"Twilight looked like she was about to scream in protest, but decided to bite back her retort."

i say what you did there:rainbowlaugh:
