Self inserts are frowned upon, not due to the fact that it's uncreative but due to the fact that you will get lost from what you will do because you will instinctively want what's best for yourself. Leading to Mary-Sueism. If you don't go down that path well then good for you!

Each of the characters will have some kind of spiritual revelation and the non-dragon characters discover they have their own powers.
