It would be nice to see this stretched out to a full-on shipping fic where they don't get immediately rescued (obviously they'd have to be on a somewhat bigger island), and spend months or longer on the island, their friendship growing into romance as time passes.

I'd love to, but I'm bad at writing emotion. I tried it once, it felt extremely shallow, and I've sworn off it (at least until I become a better writer). A Vinyl x Octavia shipfic is something I wouldn't sully with my poor authoring skills. They are my favorite pairing, after all. Perhaps at a later date...

Oh  I haven't forgotten about that- I  have some pre-writing done on that, the only thing stopping me from making more chapters is that now I'm looking for a different end to it-

I wanted to make it a journal about his life ever since he became a Canter lot researcher, with pages for every year of his life with a minimum of 1k words per year, I wanted him to live up to his  90's and he is  35 in the story at the moment.

I have NOT forgotten about it, in fact I still love the story dearly, but what's currently on it isn't to great and I might have to clean the slate when I think of a better way to go about it.
