Oh dear, it's full of d'awws! (And absolutely made me go read "Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus" because gah was that an awesome use of editorial) Rather liked that you actually hand-wrote and scanned in all of these letters complete with spelling errors, doodles and glitter... oh so much glitter. I think the internet might be clogged with it now.
So long and thanks for all the 'dorbs, Lucky ~lammy
You just reminded me that Regarding The Fountain is a book that exists and was one of my favorite reads growing up in the 90's. I'm curious as to whether or not you drew some inspiration from that spring. :)
At any rate, this was a lovely read through and through, if a bit short, but obviously we're not getting paid by the word here. And it's nice to be able to sit down for only ten minutes and come away having finished a full story. Great work with all the different types of stationary and the characters they represent!
Absolutely beautiful and heart-touching, and at the same time, exactly what I would expect from you. The hand-written letters really, really make this something special, and give a whole new level of uniqueness to the characters. Excellent work.
I love the how you managed to capture each pony's personality with each letter. Setting traps around the fireplace is completely in character for Scootaloo and it makes me laugh every time I read it. Very heart-warming indeed.
Awww yeah. Now that is a beautifully done thing right here. I had to pause everything and read it. The letters go a great long way at setting up the emotional charge and showing the characters involved without using any description at all. The way you actually wrote/printed them is great. The doodles in the CMC ones are priceless, too. Once again, the letters are just exuding character, in a great way, and the fact that they tell a heartwarming story makes it so much better. Lovely thing, this. Thank you!
Okay, this is great. I love that you really made the most of the format to include the pictures; it just wouldn't be the same without them. You captures the characters amazingly well, not only in terms of voice, but the hand(hoof?)writing and doodles are dead on. It makes it feel much more real than something that's just text. This is an amazing story.
God that was amazing. I loved how you did every letter to match the personalities and ages of every pony. How did you did all of this? It's really amazingly done.
Hey there! Not often I read other people's fanfics (due to lack of time and I'm writing my own stuff) but I got to say this was definitely worth it! Read on EQD that the 'scanned' version was way better so I went in to see and I got to say, great work with the stationery for the personalities of the writers! Very nice work there!
Positives - This story is well written and has great pacing and stays true to the character. I especially like the format you presented it in with the scans (Hey if it is not a bother could you please show me or give me some of that Twilight Paper, Thanks.)
Negatives - I am not entirely sure that Apple Bloom would make as many spelling mistakes as depicted, same goes for Applejack.
Over all great fanfic and is one of the pony christmas stories I have ever read.
Daw's, launched by Flawless Presentation Cannon, straight through the heart.
Really, this story is too nonstandard for me to try to leave some sort of elaborate seriousface comment, but what I will say is that I thoroughly enjoyed it, and that I hope you had as much fun writing this as the results suggest. Loved it.
I love this! It's absolutely endearing and clever. I really enjoyed the little doodles from the CMC and the childish writing -- And AJ's spelling errors.
Trixie would say she loved this, but honestly I feel that way about all your work. (Honest, not just because you wrote it either.)
Though that said, the characterization that went into the letters, writing style, even the papers, all felt incredibly authentic. (Though Santa's personal letters were kind of a pain to read, but that is truly my only complaint.) So, kudos for that. Though on the flipside, it looks like something like this would of been really fun to write... Was it?
Absolutely amazing and completely original. This was very much how I'd picture it being in the show. The hand-written letters and different styles of handwriting, as well as the simple, yet captivating plot, make this one of the best reads on this site. You made the hoof-writing match each pony, too. Brilliant. Awesome. Amazing. Sweet. Heart-warming. Interesting. Original. 11/10
This was very great. The way it was depicted through letters, I still can hear the character's voices in these letters and their emotions. It was a very heart-warming story, suitable for the holiday it was surrounding.
This isn't short, do you know how long it would take to make each picture? Don't complain about it being short, it's plenty long and you should be glad for what you got. Anyway, making it any longer would just be dragging it on.
Only negative thing I can even think of is that I imagine Twilight would have flawless hand (hoof?) writting.
Other than that it perfectly captures every character. From the CMC's overly artistic letters to AJ's typos and corrections, even her no-nonsense very squared penmanship style just perfect.
This was BY far the greatest idea to come from the amazing minds of this fandom. I read this thinking it was a fan fic, written either terrible with a great plot, or vice versa. Now, I saw this and honestly, I cried. This was so great. You sir, win the internets, the fandom, and my all too important approval (if it were that important in the first place ). You deserve a thumbs up, fav, and just about everything possible. Thank you for this.
Sincerely Your New Favourite Reader, JustAnotherTimeLord
I love the fact that just the look and feel of the letters themselves give off a feel of the character of who is writing. This was a great Idea and was pulled off wonderfully.
Epistolary fiction is usually a difficult conceit to wrap my head around. Brilliant job in actually using real letters to do this with. Did you have several handwriters to help you, or are you simply THAT GOOD at calligraphy?
This is amazing! I love this story so much! The fillies' letters were adorable, and super realistic- the drawings, the handwriting- they look just like letters from real little girls. Sweetie Belle's girly style was my favorite. Anyway, I... I just love this!
I pretty much exploded at the North Pole Enterprise's reply to Scootaloo and the 10 Easy Ways to Improving Hoofwriting xD Scoots letters were awesome! Damn, these were all done so well that my mind auto-read in the proper pony's voice like Sweetie Belle's. Love the Glitter assault xD
Bits in .99 cents? Those pony bankers be trolling xD
You know AJ, I always wanted an easy bake over too. Why? Because as a kid you think it really is that easy and come with all the goods to make brownies and cupcakes whenever you damn well please! (those commercials were deliciously deceiving!)
WHERE WAS THIS STORY WHEN I HAD THE HOLIDAY SPIRIT??? There were like NO decent holiday fics till way after :( I expect this to be an audio play come next Christmas dangit! (or a new story planned well in advanced for it!)
(Totally not serious about you having to do any of that, and totally cool with this being late as it gave me time to sit down and enjoy it on a nice relaxing none crazy day like what was Christmas xD)
Oh my god this was the most heart-wrenchingly adorable thing I've ever read.
Oh dear, it's full of d'awws!

Aw... so heart warming indeed! Where was this on the eve of Christmas?
Twilight WOULD have her own personalized stationary... or rather she would carry it around everywhere.
I love the how you managed to capture each pony's personality with each letter. Setting traps around the fireplace is completely in character for Scootaloo and it makes me laugh every time I read it. Very heart-warming indeed.

Also, the story is quite excellent.
This goes straight to my favorites.

Egad my throbbing heart!
This was adorable!
SO CUTE
This....
This right here....
This is how you tell a fucking story...
*stands up and applause* Dear sir or madam... I'll be keeping a close eye on you.

The sheer amount of creativity that went into this is staggering. Not to mention the beautiful story it told. Holy smokes, I have no words. 11/10.
sweetie belles letters were too adorable :D
That was just perfect.

I...I cried, I cried so much but they were good tears

This was absolutely amazing. The hoof-written letters set the tone perfectly.
I was particularly moved by Scootaloo's letters; apparently she takes after Dash in more than just her love for speed.

ALL MY
Holy crap the amount of work that went into this is just...oh I god I can't even- This is just amazing!
Seriously this made my day...it was pretty crappy, but reading this made it all better, thanks dood!
Beautiful. Just beautiful.
Gotta be "that guy in the comments", though: You misspelled "quitting" as "quiting."
Still, the feels were instilled and shall stay. Great fic!
AMAZING BEYOND COMPREHENSION

I actually laughed at this and I regret the fact that I didn't read this during Christmas otherwise I would have cried. Great story.

I never thought I would finally read some MLP:FiM fanfiction ... until now. You did a great job with those letters !
I loved this story and the way you told it (in letters) was beyond brilliant!!

This was a very unique, and entertaining, way to tell a story.
this story was so cute I loved it especially with the adorable misspellings and sweetie belle's glitter attack
Man scootaloo's letters had me laughing for ever.
and glitter bombs? Brilliant.
Without a doubt the most unique and heartwarming fic I have ever had the pleasure of reading.
Superb job! I hope you do more like this :D
Typos on physical letter?
!?!?!?*
The images just made the story better, all the way through.
This is amazing! I love this story so much!
