I think you should go in the direction of a: "I'm So Awesome I Burn Things By Glaring At Them" (Rainbow Dash).

Jor-El has inadvertently exposed Rainbow to some of the failures of her own life.  In many ways, she's always done what was expected of her out of the loyalty that's such a key aspect of her personality.  She very rarely thinks "What do I want?" on the larger foci of her life.  Oddly enough, of all of the Mane 6, it is Pinkie Pie, Rarity and, of call people, Fluttershy who are examples of being what you want to be rather than what others want you to be.  Applejack doesn't really count because, even though she decided her path, her love of her home and family made her decide to put aside her own ambitions and instead do her duty to others.

Pretty good, does this mean we may eventually have a chapter where Rainbow can fire a miniature version of herself out of a rainbow from her hoof? Also, at one point you wrote "Tricie" instead of "Trixie". Still, awesome fanfic.

I seem to remember a Silver Age (1960s) Superman comic that used this basic concept, although it's fairly common in sci-fi; there was a classic Star Trek that used the idea too.  It's nice how we see the balance between thought and emotion is needed to be effective and how Rainbow was able to use her derivations' faults against  them.
