Sweet! I've been tracking this on EqD so I'm quite happy to see it here. I do agree that this is one of the best Twilight/Celestia stories, not just because you aren't doing the cliche -estia plots, but also because you are doing the romance at a good pace. Plus seeing the two smartest ponies in Equestria being idiots in regards to their love life is a hilarious. So thank you for writing this.

I like your portrayal of Celestia, and her fears of her sister, but I do not believe that Luna has the ability to control the sun exactly. I understand that Celestia did it but as you said in the story the Sun in MUCH farther away than the moon is but thats just a small thing that made me think for a little while.
Also... Do any of you like Bananas?

I'll be updating the story with the next chapters once a week, until we hit Chapter 4. Chapter 5 should be done by then, at which point it'll update concurrently with EqD.
Oblivious!Celestia is best Celestia. She's going to be kicking herself when/if she figures it out.
Nah, I don't consider the story sad, even if there are some moments like that.
Honestly? Exposure. The fic updates so slowly, and the next chapter will take a while, so I want to maximize whatever audience I can get here in the interim. As you and several others have pointed out, one can simply Google the rest of the chapters, so it's not like I'm holding out on anyone... except people who have trouble with Gdocs...

Sorry, the narrative is intentionally confusing after Celestia wakes up, in order to convey her condition subtly.

Two parts are a dream:
- The part with Luna and Celestia stargazing, and the dark shift that scene takes,
- The brief 'she saw, she smelled, she felt, she heard, she tasted' part.
Everything else was real.

Snagged the rest of the updates from EQD and read through them - I have to say, I'm quite impressed. Twilestia fics are normally 'Do not want' territory for me because of how odd the relationship can be in some stories. I had heard good things about 'Composure' however, and decided to give it a try. It's been wonderfully done thus far, and I'm looking forward to part five.
Can't believe I just found this. Instantly ran into EqD to find the rest. You said you'll be updating here every week before updates are on par, but I really hope that doesn't mean it'll take at least 3 weeks before a new chapter.
Because the wait would kill me. x_X
I could re-read this chapter a hundred times. It really is my favorite of the four published so far, although the line that inspired my own fic is in the fourth chapter.
I love the approach here of them dancing around letting themselves be in love. It's very romantic, and I am such a sucker for that sort of thing.
Luna was Celestia’s sister in more than just blood. There was gravity to her words that implied something bigger at play, yet close to heart.
I chuckled a little at this part, but other than that, I loved this chapter.
This was the highlight of my morning.
ANYWAY the reason it made me chuckle was the pure science behind it.. mostly because the heart actually pumps blood through it which mean that it's just as close to blood as it is blood.

This story is so beautiful. It awakens such deep emotions that you feel completely involved while reading. It is a wonderful story of pure love and the difficulties it may (and will) encounter, with smooth style and exquisite vocabulary.

When I read this I am both twilight and Celestia. I get to kiss, nuzzle, sleep next to, fall in love with......... That's why I love female homosexual /lesbian/femme fiction. They are simply the most wonderful, caring, love stories that are ever writen for fim fiction. They make my heart sing. No one writing 'straight' fiction comes even close. TY varanus, you and others who write this for us are the best brony writers of all. Ty for sharing your talent and time with all your faithful fans. 5 stars.
And scratching at the surface of Lunas scars to reviel the fathomlessness of her emotional depth pays tribute to her as my favorite pony of all. She may yet heal,
and find peace.

As for the chapter...well, what can I say? That was an amazing dream sequence; so subtle and yet so powerful. I believe this is the standard one should be looking for when giving a 5-star rating, and I have given mine as such.
That dream actually had my teary-eyed.
Then, freeing Luna: the first tear fell.
The friends leaving caused the second one.
"Lavender" coming back was the source of the third one.
Ambrosia was the fourth.
Remembering it to write this comment caused the fifth one to fall, making it all complete.
If ever there was a need for a slow clap, it's here. That was a beautiful sequence, and, like >>132131 said, sets a new gold standard for emotionally-based fimfics. This has definitely earned a 5-star rating. Actually, a 7 star rating, but I can't go that high.
This actually reminds me of a few of the fables I read when I was younger. It's got that same surreal quality, but still seems perfectly believable somehow. I could praise you on how this is, bar none, the best dream sequence I have ever read, but that would just be repetition of what everyone else said.
Instead, I'll praise you on those tiny details that some might not notice. The Passage of Eastern Radiance, for one. People tend to write palaces like dark, dingy buildings cut from slabs of grey stone. The occasional tapestry might adorn the wall here and there. But your depiction is what an actual palace would be like. Well lit and richly decorated with so many pieces of art from so many styles that it makes the head spin to look at them.
Beautifully written, in short, with the perfect mix of light, darkness, love and melancholy. Why is it that fanfiction often produces better works than most mainstream authors? That there is a mystery I'll likely take to my grave.
Wow, this dream represented Celestia's life. She is an immortal being tending to generation after generation of ponies. Yet none have ever left an longing impression on her. The ponies running towards the horizon signified them passing on, dying. Celestia would never see them again. But, when Twilight comes along, time slows, and she finds here place with her.
Fuck man, this made me tear up more then My Little Dashie.
