Chrysialis is back... and completely insane.

The changeling that once aimed to take over Equestria vanished after her plans were thwarted. But now shes back, with a somewhat altered agenda. She's become mentally unstable and is beginning to loose control... or is she?

What has driven Chrysalis to this point? What horrifying plans does she have in store for the mane six?

I can tell that this story is going to be like Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Why? Because this chapter felt like a refreshing punch to the face and I'm betting all the rest will too. And to tell the truth, I don't give a damn because this is going to be an awesome story.

Potential. We'll see if it lives up to it.

If Chrysalis isn't feeding on love, she's going to burn through her power rather quickly.

At any rate, this story proves why the ponies would have been completely justified in hunting her and all her foul brood down and exterminating every last one!

This is excellent anti-changeling propaganda! Celestia should use this opportunity to wipe out an enemy race once and for all! At any rate, they should have developed some changeling detection spells by now and should employ them at once, scanning all citizens randomly. I mean, the ponies aren't completely stupid.

Why, this would also be a perfect time to get rid of political enemies, spy on citizens... do all sorts of things you would never have ben able to do otherwise! Play on public sentiments and fears to create a system that gives you absolute control over every aspect of your citizens' lives! After all, one should never let a good tragedy go to waste!

(See, that's how a REAL Tyrantlestia would play the game. The best tyrants fool the weak-minded into thinking they aren't tyrants at first... usually by giving them lots of free stuff. You build your popular support base with goodies, then alter laws to favor you, make sure your people are in all the controlling areas, and THEN you go full-on tyrant and enslave the masses to do your bidding.)

One thing, this is already starting to run uncomfortably close to 'Xanatos Roulette' realms.

This bit in the beginning is uncomfortably OP: >>Suddenly, it shot itself towards the alicorns. Luna projected a shield around the guards that had come to defend them. Unfortunately, the fire passed through the shield like it wasn’t even there, engulfing the guards and the Princess in its light. >>>

Chrysalis never fought Luna before. And even massively powered up, Chrysalis couldn't over-power Celestia instantly like this. It's FAR too convenient that she has suddenly found a way to pierce the shield of a magic she's never faced.

The changelings' greatest asset is anonymity. They have the perfect infiltration skills. Chrysalis has once more shown her hand prematurely and obliterated a major strategic advantage for some insane psycho revenge scheme. She also had a primary enemy in her clutches and didn't kill her, as anyone of any military competence would have done. Rather, she killed some guards, needlessly flaunted that she is dangerously homicidal, and given the ponies absolute justification for using lethal force to stop her. She is NOT demonstrating very intelligent tactics, and she has clearly learned nothing from her earlier failure.

Her plans CANNOT go smoothly, unless everypony is a helpless blithering idiot.

3927703 No, that's why it's called a 'tragic dark fic', in which all reason is cast aside to get to the part where the psycho tortures/murders the 'good guys', as is the case with all such fics it seems.

3929480 Does that automatically make it good and well-through out simply because it's fiction?

Well, then I have myriad Sci-Fi channel original movies for you to watch!

Now that's a dark fic!
