When Doctor Hooves crashes, again, he meets a filly who was born a paradox. In order to ensure that the time stream remains whole, he separates the possibilities- but is stuck with one of the now two fillies.

After growing up, the little pegasus wants to see her other self, which puts the two on an... interesting adventure.

    Paradox: Noun

    1. a statement or proposition that seems self-contradictory or absurd but in reality expresses a possible truth.

    2.

    a self-contradictory and false proposition.

    3.

any person, thing, or situation exhibiting an apparently contradictory nature.

    4.

an opinion or statement contrary to commonly accepted opinion.

In this case, its a person who is contradictory in nature. You haven't yet met the other half of this pony

Yes, that it is the literal definition of a paradox but it doesn't work for this situation.

You make some statement about how she somehow has two timelines coiled inside her, have a duality about her in that there seem to be two of her existing in the same space but slightly out of phase with each other and then you have the doctor somehow separate these two... instances of her.

But that does not make this a paradox. For it to be a paradox there would have to be only 1 instance of Derpy yet she would have contradictory features or qualities. Such as being kind but cruel at the same time. If you have more than 1 version of her, then that it not a paradox.

I'm not sure how to accept you critique (by this I mean change the story to make it better and make the readers more happy) but I will do so all the same. Really I'm more following the idea stemming from an episode in Dr. Who in which having the same person in the same timeline creates what he calls a paradox, but all the same, thank you for reading.

    >>1412657 Pay no attention to Evil Homer now.

I once rewrote my fics when a reader expressed that they didn't like it any.

Until one day I took a look and realized that they were writing my fics, and I wasn't anymore.

    So I made an announcement.

I would write my fics however I wanted, and if they didn't like it they could go read someone else's... or write their own fics.

That's an easy one, change the title.

And while Doctor Who might have used that, they've also used other terms or concepts that didn't work in the context given but used them anyway.
