Applejack can't buck her trees without hurting them. That's a big problem. Then she finds Fluttershy has her own problems. She won't explain about her odd hat, but will admit the trees that suddenly appeared around her house could be a problem. They decide to try to solve each other's issues rather than bother Twilight with them.

Nice "Hello Kitty" shout-out there... ![]()
Spelling mistake, though:
Fluttershy immediately shook her had and started backing away.
Shouldn't that be "head"?
After Applejack's bath, I still can't believe she didn't notice how dirty she was, I got some additional readings from her.
Instead of setting that phrase off with commas, why not try parentheses? I think it would make this sentence look better, at least. *shrug*
of course it's the one thing I didn't think to check. I guess I need to double check the description next time since I'm just typing it on the fly.
Yes, it should and now does. I need spell-check to function but sometimes if the word is spelled right but the wrong word I miss it.
Hmmm, maybe. The thing is it's a dictated letter and sorta follows the rules of dialog (how do you say a parentheses) so I wrote it that way. That being said I may be totally wrong in all ways, but at least for now I don't plan to change it.
Yep, looks like Fluttershy is a nature empath, sort of like Poison Ivy in the Batman universe, but with one big difference: I wouldn't be surprised if she can do this with lower animals too.
Poor Fluttershy though! She is terrified of being abandoned by her friends because she's a 'freak'. What she doesn't realise yet, perhaps because her self esteem has always been weak, is that, if she is a freak, she's a freak in a circus of freaks! All of the Mane Six are growing more powerful and developing out-of-ordinary powers! They couldn't abandon her because she's one of them!
Now, I wonder if, as with Dash, the key to Applejack gaining control over her powers is emotion. She's a filly with a lot of anger and aggression and that might be boosting her strength. If she bucks with love, then maybe, just maybe, her touch would heal too.
It does seem though, in this story, that the strongest magic of all... is the magic of friendship. Of course, we all knew that, didn't we? ![]()
Ooh, yeah. Definitely a nature empath and a botanokinetic too. She's at least at Poison Ivy's power level, which puts her on equal footing to the stronger unicorn mages and something tells me that she'll only get stronger now she's figured out how to control it. Applejack is right, they're in over their heads.
Suddenly, I've seen Scootaloo with a d20 as a cutie mark.
Her special ability is to redefine anything in the world in the terms of a tabular Pits and Ponies statistic. Oddly enough, that might be a pretty awesome special ability, when you think of it. She would literally always be the Mare with the Plan.
Okay, that's hyper strength that AJ is demonstrating there. The fact that there was a visible geokinetic shock-wave puts the energy release of that buck in the same league as a Magnitude 6 or 7 earthquake, or about the same as a mid-yield nuclear bomb. Putting that in perspective, she's just released enough energy to put one of her trees into orbit (in a purely vaporised form, of course).
I think that Twilight Sparkle was trying to avoid telling Celestia about he problems, she only wanted to tell her about how she found the solution. That's a conceit but an understandable one. She's still young enough to enjoy Celestia's praise and feel inadequate if she needs her teacher's help.
