Will there be any references to Twilight having had a crush on Cadance? I've always had it in my personal canon that in addition to Celestia, Twilight's had a thing for her old foal sitter, and this seems like a place it'd be. and a good time to ask. So bringing it up.

And I mean in both length of chapter and time between chapters. So sorry about that, but, as I mentioned, I'm neck deep in work right now (still a good thing), so...I'm going as fast as I can! But I do wonder: would you prefer to see the chapters like this--meaning long as I originally planned them, and probably spaced out because of personal issues--or would you rather see shorter chapters, that might not feel "complete," posted more frequently? This is just a poll, not a promise. But it might make me re-think the structure of things.
Also, yes, I totally stole her from Neil. It's okay, I think he would understand. And she fit so well.

I must say i hope Celestia does not manage to bring Luna back to life, that would be completely unfair to every single being that died before her.
But i do hope for some happy ending for them nonetheless.
The issue would be that its a big fuck you to mortal ponies in general, killing death is impossible from what we see for now at least, so thats out too. (would create to much problems for everyone anyway, eternal agony for the ones of the verge of death,deadly sick and such
)

As for Chapter, maybe half them (instead of 20k 10k chapters), that way they come sooner and while you dont end it in cliffhangers(ok you do in this one at least, not a big one but still one since you left Twilight and Cadence in a tight spot and Celestia went irrational) with longer one, it would update sooner so leave us happier because of sooner updates probably.

I'm so very glad that I'm following this story. Anyhow I'm wondering what Death's plan in all this is, perhaps she is a big romantic as she says and wants Luna to start living again or perhaps she has some other reason to make sure Ceslestia stays in Tartarus.
Oh, on the topic of chapter sizes just make them as big as you need to make sure they feel complete, even if it means going over 20k words. No reason to let the story seem rushed.
Man, I've read a lot of stories involving the death of a loved one, but this one still managed to find a way to depress me. I'm not going to tell you what to do with your own story, but I do hope things turn out right for all involved.

So...did Twilight and Candace...just lock themselves in an impenetrable room after redirecting a lust spell that affected hundreds of ponies to just the two of them...with no way of shutting it off? Next chapter should be interesting if my understanding is correct ^^; Poor shining though, cut off from both the mares he lusts for (if only temporarily.)
They did exactly that. They may, possibly, be immune to the spell's effects, since they were the ones who cast it... But being as how they appear to have had a thing for each other in the FIRST place, this will probably not help matters much.

But then again probably not since in greek mythology she is a "character" for herself so maybe the story Selene said was true (my guess is now that Selene was the one bound to the moon before Luna, making Celestia really older then Luna heh)
And funny thing considering Lauren or someone else on the team wanted to name Luna Selene, but you probably knew that so used it now.
I gotta say, I'm liking Selene. Also, Twilight doesn't get any attention from Fleur? She just gets left hanging without any relief? That doesn't seem fair.

Why did I giggle like mad with Cadance and Twilight in the beginning?
And yeah, this is clop, but so much more.
1791750 Actually, to clarify my own fanon on this, when one of the celestial alicorns dies, they are replaced when their duty would come into effect. For example: Luna's replacement would come about when the moon was supposed to rise--not after, but at that moment. The moon would rise, and the new Goddess of the Moon would come into being at that same time. It would not need to be brought up, but would do so without magical help, but would bring the new goddess into being. So, Celestia was commenting that the sun was already up, so the time that it was supposed to go down and the moon arise was already on the clock. That's why she didn't set the moon and raise the sun when Luna died, she didn't want the moon to have to come back up after the sun. That help clarify? I mean, it sounds clear as mud when I read back over it.
And just about all the questions about Selene are answered in the next chapter--which I swear I'm working on! Tonight, even! Hopefully to be posted next week. (Sorry...lots going on in my life...)

Murphy's law is in full effect here with Twilight and Cadence.
You had my mind running in circles last night, thinking of ways the story might progress. As sad as i can see it, Celestia's journey in Tartarus can end primarily one of six ways, two of which are 'bad' endings, with three more being 'bittersweet' or 'partial bad' endings. Spoiler'd just in case.
Those four endings for this scenario as i see it, would be:
1: Good End: Rescues Luna, escapes in time.
2: Partial Bad End: Rescues Luna, doesn't escape in time. Luna stuck in Tartarus forevermore.
3: Partial Bad End: Trades places with Luna in Tartarus.
4: Bad End: Trapped in Tartarus, new Sun/Moon Avatars. Nonviolent end, alternate to #5.
5: Bad End: 'Killed' in Tartarus, forcing new Sun/Moon Avatars. Similar to, but is a violent end to #4.
6: Bittersweet Ending: Gives up immortality to join Luna in Tartarus.
