She-Who-Devours was the first dragon. Massive and powerful, she settled upon Equis after consuming a nearby star. From her came forth the six dragon breeds. Fire, Air, Water, Earth, Mind...and Leviathan.
Millions of years later, the fifth Leviathan has arisen. Spike, assistant to Twilight Sparkle.
And woe betide those who cross the Leviathans. For they are patient...they are powerful...and they are eternal.

She can't know everything and if the school was trying to keep it from her, it would be difficult to find out.
I was proud of the first chapter title, Day of Glue. Ominous when used in regards to Ponies.

2106216 Thanks Ripper! I appreciate the feedback. I mainly only write when my muse starts beating me around the head. Sometimes chapters can be daily or they can be months apart. Hopefully more of the former than the latter.
Wouldn't Celestia already know of one hatched dragon though considering she was there after Twilight hatched Spike as well as raised Spike since hatching like a son*...unless shes that determined to find any answer that says Spike isn't a Leviathan in fear of what she will have to do to her 'son'

2106309 Ahh, of course she knows of Spike. But consider this. Spike is only a few years old. Assuming that Leviathan's mature as fast as normal dragons, she has decades in which to nip the problem in the bud.
She's far, FAR more worried about dragons that have undetected or have been forgotten.
After all, tis a knife from the dark that cuts the deepest.

Well, mostly because Lauren said she did in canon. Or at least, Lauren's canon. The current writers may change that.
That aside, this story has a few problems. It's interesting, but I find myself bothered by the consistent punctuation errors.
"Seems we have more letters than usual, Your Majesty. About four hundred" Moonglow Rising stated as she gently lowered the tray on to the table.
This is incorrect. When you're writing dialogue, you're supposed to leave a comma before the last apostrophe if you're going to continue the sentence.
It should be:
"Seems we have more than usual, Your Majesty. About four hundred," Moonglow Rising stated as she gently lowered the tray on to the table.
And some of your prose isn't that great. By which I mean you sometimes go overboard with your dramatic or poetic imagery and it just sort of fizzles out instead of actually impressing me. Try to moderate yourself.

are you going to have Tia Spike taken to Canterlot even though the panic even baby dragon would create? five to one that the trip back wouldn't take that long since Spike could get hungry and start eating the chariot and the second indication of something's not right is that he starts in on their armor

3106805 Sadly it is slow going. I have a multitude of stories bouncing around my noggin so I have to choose.
Right now I'm on a Nanoha phase. I do keep writing bits though. This next chapter plans to be quite...illuminating. And of course, more questions than ever will be raised.
Nice precision by Celly there--different from the portrayals of her powers as basically a giant flamethrower or laser-y attacks I've usually seen.
