Gabriel LaVedier

Just another University-edicated fanfiction writer who prefers the cheers and laughter of ponies to madness and sorrow.

E

At a seedy little griffin dive bar somewhere in Equestria, two gargantuan egos still stinging from personal tragedy and shocks to the system engage in a war of words and deeds to see which one is worthy of thinking of themselves as the best.

About the only Gildixie (Gilda/Trixie) story I have ever seen.

Not bad, exactly, but predictable to a fault.

It was never meant to be a surprise. I think that anyone not blinded by lockstep Twixie shuffling can see Gilda and Trixie are both good together and good for one another. I'll be making some more with them.

Aggie and Swallow are the big surprise. :rainbowkiss:

great story, I liked it

Brohoof! Thanks for the kind words.

Nice little story man, I'm always a fan of slap slap kiss starts to romances. When Aggie entered the scene I was happy the bartender'd get a chance at love too.

It was pretty much a requirement. My editor/pre-reader was like, "Can't Swallow get some? He had to put up with Gilda and Trixie."

And I always figured with Trixie and Gilda is would HAVE to be Slap Slap Kiss to start. :trixieshiftright:

That "rivalry" ended too fast. Granted, I've yet to feel the effects of inebriation, so I wouldn't know how we function when hammered.

Then again, Gilda and Trixie act fairly competent and sober towards the end.

...yep.

2/5. Work on pacing and setting up realistic relationships.

The rivalry/relationship is based on the trope no one seems to question called "Slap Slap Kiss." The thing is, they impressed each other. The skills are genuine, the feelings genuine as well. This is them, sans masks, sans ego. The real them.

Incidentally, they're both high-functioning drunks. Or at least, Gilda is. Trixie never got to feel the effects. Makes Gilda's act a little more impressive. Though the implication is that she may have been drinking for a while but she barely drank anything because it's disgusting and she can barely stand to have more than a sip at a time.

In all, thank you for your review.

Yeah Cheese, Slap Slap Kiss is a trope slightly less common in the West but fairly common in anime, especially when mixed with Tsundere (character with a personality that swaps between being nice on the outside and a total bitch to a loved one/crush or vice versa, usually a girl). So as Gabriel explained, they are both quite haughty and relish power, so when they find an equal you get either respect or making out.

116302true i live in the west but i only know of slap slap kiss from all the anime i use to watch online

Gotta love that, it was quite good and believe it or not this is the only trixie shipping that i see happening

You too? Oh my gosh! I thought I was the only one. Everyone else seems so into Twixie that I was afraid there would be no Gildixie fans.

Twixie is possibly the stupidest ship that exists, it just doesn't make any sense now Gildixie makes sense, there both loners, they both have been run out of ponyville and their both full of themselves. It just goes so well together.

Truly. Now, making the relationship LAST is going to take a lot of work. But since they're the only ones that can stand... each other. They love one another, because they can understand one another.

I liked this story... even if I don't read shipping in general.
I think it's more for your writting skills and the way each character is involved.
Nice fic, anyway. :twilightsheepish:

That you. This is the second time I've heard something like this. I did a clop fic and someone said, "I don't read clopfics but this was awesome." I might get a swelled head with all these compliments. :twilightblush:

Fun, fun. No matter how cliche, it is still a funny image for the two enemies to glare at each other, then start making out.
