The idea's probably already been done at least once. But here's me doing it anyway.

I liked it, the little twist at the end was pretty funny

This reminds me of my story "The Blacksmith", save that this actually only has one chapter. :rainbowlaugh:

Yes, this idea's been done before (by me, and most likely by some people I don't know before me), but it's good nonetheless. Seriously, there's a bunch of people who have done every single fucking F/F pairing out there about a million times (and people seem to love those pairings. I personally hate them). It's not like if you do a particular idea when someone else already has that people won't like it.

Also, loved that ending. Now shut up and take my upvotes and favourites.

If you made this a series, I would gladly appreciate it:pinkiehappy:

And no it hasn't been done before I think (At least not with this type of story)

    >>1240301 Eeeeeyup. With Lyra and Bon Bon. I assume it's on EQD or possibly TMP because right now it's sitting on my hard drive in a pdf, it has no title or author noted (and the filename is LyraBon.pdf) It's still different in basically every detail.

Nice. I liked most of the story, and i dont think ive seen this before (outside of a few "everyone is a changling" comedy pices).

My only peoblem is with your backstory bits, equestria seems (or at least in my headcanon it is) idealistic enough that i suspect some changeling would get accepted at some point, and even if not, i seriously doubt children would be shunned for who their parents were (unless changelings are inherently irredemable, but that fits neither the setting nor your story) , but with such a background the story wouldnt work that well, so whatever^^

I saw the ending coming, but it was an enjoyable read, nonetheless.

I was toying with the idea of using this as a setup for a nice dramafic, with tension and hostages and stuff. Also something to do with raising a changeling child in Canterlot, of all places.

One thing that's canon is Equestrian Xenophobia - they freak out over Zebras, imagine what they'll do for a half-changeling-half-pony aberration? Odds are that they'll scream "Changeling" and the torches and Pitchforks won't be far away. And unlike Zecora, I believe even Celestia and/or Luna would side with her ponies by default in that sort of situation. (Perhaps less crass, but changelings are changelings.)

Agree on the Xenophobia, but the point about Zecora is that after the initial freakout, she got accepted. So yes, there may be problems, but if changelings can survive in society without repetadly draining ponys to death or something, I think they would be accepted. The children, at least in cases where the pony is the mother.... never underestimate the bond of mothers and children, even if they are strange (not saying fathers cant care or anything). And celestia and luna... If i picture them, and somepony who banishes or imprisons children because of their heritage... sorry, i cant get those images to meet anywhere.

Not saying it would be easy, not saying everything/everypony/changeling would work out. But nothing?

But again, not challenging the story. In general when something gets in the way of good storytelling it probably should be ignored. (Not that anything here has any solid canon foundation, since the only kind of personality we got from any changeling (apart from an eyeroll) was the queen, And even she can be seen as anything between "seeking food for a starving people" to "gleefully devastating a peacefull land for power". So changeling nature is really up for interpretation)

Good story. Nice twist, but honestly saw it coming. Made it light hearted, though.

You were hiding the twist? But, yes. This is better then the OTHER "Everyone is a changeling" fic I saw. That one was hilarious, but I always liked smaller, character-based comedy more then farce.

That was actually really funny. I kinda saw it coming when he said that his fiance was not a changeling. I enjoyed this take on this type of story; usually the reveal happens and one party is disgusted with the other, the fight and all types of drama ensues, but here it was like:

    "I'm a changeling."

    "Me, too."

He goes back to work the next day and all is good.

The End and no stupid melodrama just for the sake of drama just so the audience can go d'awww at the cliche' happy ending. Here it was short and sweet and the conflict was easily resolved.

My only nitpick is that Stonehammer is a moron. Why in the hell would anyone move a wedding to a week from today and and start handing out invitations that day? Common sense dictates that you should give your guests some time to prepare, at least a month would be better just in that case.

    Enjoy this comic:

    Role-playing has a different meaning when you're a changeling.
