Interesting style of first person writing you have here, it works really well so far.
It feels almost blasphemous to make such a small criticism to a very well done introduction, but one thing did bug me a little - near the beginning "apple buck harvest" grates on my eyes a little, buck and harvest are both verbs describing the event, in this case both mean to gather the fruit. (AJ uses the phrase "apple buck season" in the show referring to harvest time in order to get around this)
Anyways - I'm eagerly awaiting the next chapter!

And now that I have come down from my soap-box of emoticons, I want to say good job! I like the first person perspective for the story, very interesting the way you're telling this. I would like to see a couple of chapters dedicated to Spike's POV, to see what his take on the fledgeling relationship is. Other than that, I would also like to see a happy ending for them, but I'm looking forward to it either way
