There arnt that many Spike ship fics at all, that arnt Rarispike or Twispike.

In fact, I haven't seen anything other than those two, bar one Celestia X Spike and one Flutterspike, both of which were genious.

So what AppleSpikes have you found? I'd be well up for giving those a try.

I think rainbow spike is more likely than Apple Spike, after all, Rainbow is more like Rarity in my opinion than AJ

I like that philosophy, if there's something you want to read but no one has written about it yet, well then write it yourself then.

That's how I do nearly all of my stories. If it hasn't been done before or hasn't been done a lot then write it.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure why Spike and Dashie don't get shipped more. It's likely because they have similar personalities, and therefore many bronies would like them to be great buds rather than in a relationship. Typically, shipping results from what couples bronies would like to see the most, rather than what is most realistic based on their characterizations. This is why Sparity shipping is so popular; bronies love cheering for the underdog love story from Spike's perspective, ignoring the fact that Spike would probably get into a better relationship with different mares (or stallions; he could be bisexual for all we know).

Also, I now declare your shirt to be a cliffhanger. Was it an "I love New York" shirt? Or something else? Who knows?

I think I have even faved all the SpikeDash (or RainbowSpike) ships on this site...

but then again I'm not really one to judge, I haven't gotten to even start writing the part of my story about their pairing (my thing is that RD actually fell in love with Spike when she first saw him, as to the reason she crashed into Twilight in the first episode -sorry )

I don't see much Spike shipping outside of shipping him with one of the CMC or Rarity and those are mostly clop or stories where Spike is grown up (that's what I see anyways)

I think people tend to avoid shippings with Spike period simply because of his age; he is a baby dragon after all. Looking forward to more of this story!

My shirt is an "I HEART BANGKOK" I bought in Bangkok, Thailand. I just got back from a backpacking trip throughout Southeast Asia.

I believe it is because of their similarities and interactions make it seem like a bromance.  However, since Spike is best character to me, I love shipping him with everything.  A Aj x Spike fic?  Will read it, FlutterSpike; already done, Celestia x Spike; dear muffins yes!  But yeah I have to think it is because, their interactions seem more like drinking buddies or best friends.  Though seeing Dash's more insecure side / Spike's fears does make the option more believable...  Actually, i DON'T EVEN KNOW.  I am just rambling possibilities and I think it is just because it doesn't seem to interest enough people who write fanfics.  (I mean there actually is a SpikeDash group on DeviantArt, but I don't think many of the people in it want to try and write really seriously epic-tier stories).

I like Rainbow Spike, it's my third favourite between Rarispike and LunaSpike. I think that the reason there are not more Rainbow Spike Ship stories is that Spike doesn't have wings. Rainbow really wants to be up in the air, she wants to be a Wonderbolt and she lives in a cloudhouse. spike just would not be able to have a relationship that would work.

Hhm... I guess the whole reason why there hasn't been more RD x Spike shipping going on is because they ARE too much alike. Based on what I've seen, shippers like pairing polar opposites (i.e Applejack and Rarity, Twilight and RD, Big Mac and Fluttershy, etc.) I boil it down to the fact that the story would be boring. No offense to you or anything, but you even had to force their romance by shifting it into a challenge. Basically, opposites attract and likeness's deflect, if that makes any sense

You really don't see the difference between shipping among minors and shipping a minor with an adult? Giving a human equivalent example: Two twelve-year-olds is cute. A twelve-year-old with a twenty-year-old has slightly creepy undertones, especially if the twelve-year-old is the female half of a hetero pairing, which admittedly is not the case with Spike/any Mane Six. (Not that I mind personally, as will become evident from my faves; it's just that I get the people who do mind.)

Generally speaking, closer-to-the-sun has quite a few stories on his Deviantart account, most of which are currently being migrated here as well, and almost all of them involve shipping, from the standard to the slightly strange. He's not the best writer in the world, but he does have several Spike/X stories under his belt, with X ranging from Rarity and Apple Bloom to Applejack and Fluttershy, and even all three CMC in one story. And yes, there is a Spike/Rainbow story among those, "Divine Intervention". Also allow me a shameless plug for my own stories here, which feature Spike/Apple Bloom, though that is by no means a rare pairing for the little dragon - I'd say it's third for Spike/X, after Spike/Rarity and Spike/Twilight (which always strikes me as incestuous in addition to the age issue; ever heard of the Westermarck effect? Not to say it can't work, just that it's not usually for me).

I actually met closer-to-the-sun in person at the Anaheim Convention I mentioned in the video, and, yes, I have read "Divine Intervention". I enjoyed it, but it seemed to have ended way too early for my personal tastes. I feel Spike, although in "pony years" at a young age, is much more mature mentally than many of the characters on the series. He is oftentimes the voice of reason, and I feel he should not be labeled "a minor" so easily.

Spikedash...I've seen a few of them...mostly involving Spike learning about flying and romance along the way.

Mostly Sparity...which is awesome.

Some Twispike...could have more, but ones I find are gems.

Spike has always struck me as an adolescent teenager in Pony years, whilst he may not be of age in Draconian years, I believe he qualifies in Pony years.

Yes, Spike appears pretty mature for a kid, but there are a lot of different scenes that show his relative immaturity, both physically and mentally, and there are also a lot of scenes that show that the Mane Six don't regard him as an equal - just look at Rarity's behaviour towards him in "Dragon Quest"; that's not one adult toward another, that's an adult towards a child. And even if he is a teenager, a relationship between, say, a 14-year-old and a 21-year-old might not be outright illegal, but it's still difficult to rationalize as a union among equals, as it were.

Though I'll admit, age in this show is so vague as to become almost undefinable. I mean, three female twentysomethings (or late teens) hold a slumber party, and absolutely nothing happens or is talked about that you couldn't show in a TV-Y show? What are the odds? You could probably find counterevidence to everything I just said in other episodes, so let's just agree to disagree here. It's not as if I mind things like these if the story doesn't go out of its way to shatter my suspension of disbelief.

Dont know why there isn't more Spikedash, I like Spike x Sweetie Belle the most for Spike ships but i like nearly all spike ships. I have seen that Spike x Rarity is the most common (I don't know why ) and then it is him and Twi and lastly it's him and (insert name here). I also think that rainbow dash x Rainbow Dash isn't a good idea... , bad joke a side I think it's becuase Rainbows main ship is soarin (when it's a straight shipping fic) or Applejack when it comes to... well ever other Rainbow ship fic.

I believe that so many Brony's have rainbow dash as a lesbian in their head canon and won't stray from rainbowjack or any other of the mane six and won't try something new because of that I think is why there are no spike dash
