Brass Beast lay sleeping in his bed at the Ponyville inn, currently dreaming of his next promotion. Standing inside Canterlot Grand hall, Brass was wearing his ceremonial armor as the both the Princess of the Sun and Moon stood before him.

Princess Celestia looked down at him "Brass Beast, for you acts of heroism and service to Equestria, I hear by grant you the rank of Master Sargent of the Royal Guard."

Brass had never felt so happy, he had finally made it to the top. He was now in charge of the Royal Guard, he no longer had to take orders from anypony now, instead he would be giving the orders. It all just seemed to real to be true and sadly it was.

"Hey, Brass, hey, hey, Brassy wake up" Rang a all to familiar voice of Hammer. "Brass get up, get up, get up."

If Brass Beast had been a lesser pony, Hammer would not be standing there, ruining one of the few good nights of sleep he had in awhile.

"Hey Brass didn't you hear me, GET UP!" Hammer finished shouting.

"I'm up dammit, what's the fuss about?" Brass said groggily getting out of his warm bed.

"It's 8:30 in the morning we need to get going" Hammer responded as he put his helmet back on.

Bras was confused why did he have to get up so early, his shift didn't start till 9:30 and if it had been a major problem the alarms would be sounding. It was only then that Brass remembered where he was and what he had to do.

"THE PRINCESS" Brass shouted jumping out of the bed and darting to the door.

Hammer laughed "Brass I think you're forgetting something" He finished pointing to Brass's armor folded on the table in the corner of the room.

Brass let out a nervous chuckle "I was just testing you"

"Sure, you were" Hammer responded sarcasm seeping out of him.

Brass had trouble getting his armor on this early in the morning, still weakened by his early waking. It didn't help that his armor was larger than most. Brass was larger then most Stallions in the guard. However being a larger Pegasus than normal was more of a blessing than most would think. With his larger build came stronger wings, once he gets going he could match the speed of most members of the Wonderbolts. His large size also allows him to go hoof to hoof with even the strongest of Earth ponies.

"We'll what are you standing there for? We have to go meet the Princesses, so we can get them back to Canterlot." Brass said slightly annoyed that he'd forgotten such an important task.

A few moment's later both Hammer and Brass had left the inn and were now heading towards the Library

"Brass, tell me again why we couldn't bring Forge with us?" Hammer asked already forgetting that Brass had answered this question several times already.

Brass grunted "I thought I told you already, about 6 times now. Princess Celestia and Princess Luna wanted him to stay at the castle so he could continue his speech lessons. She also wanted him to stay there so you didn't become distracted, like you've just become."

"I miss the little guy." sighed Hammer "I wonder what he's doing right now."

"Well you know Forge he's either Eating all the food in the castle or burning something, but don't worry he'll be fine and anyways will see him in a few hours." Brass answered in his best reassuring voice.

Hammer sighed "I guess you're right, what the worst that could happen."

Brass chuckled "Of course I'm right, when have I ever been wrong?"

Now it was Hammers turn to laugh "How about when you told me I was not right for the guard?"

Brass winced he had hoped it wouldn't come up anymore

"Okay Kid I'll give you that one, you might be a little rough around the edges but with my help I think you'll make a fine guard."

When Brass said this he wasn't lying. When Bronze Hammer should up during the recruiting week Brass thought he was joking. The kid apparently couldn't afford his armor so he made his own, though Brass wouldn't admit it, but he was impressed. Sadly the kid just didn't meet the Standard and Brass had sent him on his way. A few days later the kid showed up again with a chewed up helmet and a small dragon. He was about to deny the poor kid again when the Princess herself decided to overrule the requirements and let him join, she never did tell brass why. Brass would never admit but he was beginning to enjoy Hammer and Forge's company.

"Hey Brass, Hello Brass are you home?" Hammer said waving his hoof in front of his face.

"Oh I must have zoned out, sorry what did you need?" He said refocusing on what walking.

"I think were here, the Princess said the tree house right?" Asked Hammer.

"Yea I'm pretty sure if not we can ask for directions" Responded Brass as he knocked on the door.

The door opened and standing there was a lavender unicorn mare.

"Oh hello, My name you must be the princesses escort. Come right in they are just finishing up their breakfast right now" She said as she turned to walk back inside, before she could get further into the house she turned around

"Oh where are my manners, would you like something to eat to?"

Brass shook his head "Oh no we are fine, but thank you for the offer, Miss?"

"Oh call me Twilight, if you don't mind waiting on the couch over their the Princess Luna and Celestia will be out in a minute"

She said walking into the next room.

As Hammer and Brass stood in the room, they couldn't help but notice how homey this library felt. Though from what they had heard Princess Celestia tell Luna was that the mare they had just met lived there so it only made sense that it also felt like home.

*Creak, Creak*

Hammer was the first to turn to face the stair case and what he saw stunned him. The monster they had seen last night "Discord" he believed is what the Princesses called him. He must be trying to sneak up on them thought Hammer. He ducked down and looked to back at Brass realizing that he had also seen him.

"What do we do?" Whispered Hammer a look of terror on his face.

"Wait till my mark then we hit him" responded Brass confidence in his voice.

"With what?" Asked Hammer as his terror only grew.

Brass looked at him with a grin "Anything, remember heavier is better." he said picking up the vase from the side table.

As the Discord continued his way down the stairs he could have sworn he'd seen something.

"Must be my imagination" he said to himself passing the couch, but as he did that's when he saw the Pegasus guards only from the corner of his eye.

"NOW!" Shouted Brass as he threw the Vase

Bulls eye he thought as the vase struck Discord in the side of the head. However it wasn't enough to stop him as Discord got back to his feet still dazed by the first impact he was struck by a second object, a book.

"What the hell?" Discord was stunned he had just been after carrying some book for Twilight upstairs, by Celestia's guards none the less.

"Take that you monster" Shouted Hammer as he threw another book.

"Charge" Yelled Brass as he broke into sprint at the creature

"No, no, noooooo!" Screamed Discord as he was pelted with book and tackled.

"Oh sweet sun and moon, CELESTIA HELP ME!" He yelled trying to claw his way to the kitchen sadly the wait of Brass beast kept him in place.

"What is going on here" Came the sweet voice of Celestia

"Quickly Princess we have him pinned, destroy him well we have the chance" yelled the panicked voice of Hammer.

"Would all three of you stop playing around we have to go soon and I would rather not spend the last of my time here dealing with you three." Celestia said using her magic to lift the bigger of the two off poor Discord.

"Bu.. But Hee.. But he's the bad guy" Stuttered Brass completely stunned wasn't it the monster she came her to defeat?

Celestia smiled "Correction, he WAS the bad guy, but now he's coming back with us to the castle"

Brass and Hammer were stunned, that creature was the reason Celestia came here in the first place. She had told them it was to defeat it, but instead it was coming to live with them? Then Brass had a realization, maybe it was like Princess Luna when she was Nightmare moon. The creature might have been evil before but now he was good again or he could be jumping to conclusions either option was completely possible.

Celestia chuckled she could easily see the confusion one their faces.

"Don't worry you two, I'll explain everything in good time and don't worry though you courage was not accurately placed it wont go unnoticed.

"Not accurately placed you say? Try telling that to my skull." Discord said as he rubbed his forehead.

Luna entered the room with a smile on her face she hadn't had such a good night sleep in ages she noticed everybody standing in the middle of the room. Book were sprawled across the floor and there were shards of ceramic scattered about.

"So, what did I miss" She said confused by the sight before her.

"Oh nothing much sister" Chuckled Celestia.

*Crash* Came the sound of shattering glass

"Wha...Wh...Wha..What happened?" Stuttered Twilight.

Celestia didn't know what to say and she really didn't want to be the one to fix the mess again so she said the only thing she could say.

"We'll you see my faithful student we were having a talk when, QUICKLY EVERYBODY TO THE CELESTIA MOBILE" She shouted as she dived through the Window quickly followed by Discord, Luna, Hammer and Brass.

By the time Twilight managed to get out side the chariot was already several hundred feet off the ground there was nothing Twilight could do but drop to her knees

"CELESTIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" She screamed to the heavens.

One hour later the Chariot had landed in the castle courtyard and Celestia had already gone inside. Upon entry to the throne room one of the castle servant rushed up to Celestia.

"Princess you need to come quick something horrible is happening in the kitchen" The mare cried in panic.

"What seems to be the problem" Celestia asked as the headed towards the kitchen.

"That little monster you let that guard keep as a pet and the bigger monster you brought back, are burning all the wooden bowl and utensils." She said angry deep in her voice.

Celestia was confused there was no way it could be Discord he had wandered off with Luna after they got back. The maid must have been mistaken his powers hadn't even begun to return so there was no possible way he could be in the kitchen.

However sure enough when they arrived at the kitchen they were greeted by the sight of Discord holding the young dragon in his paws as if it were some sort of weapon.

"PULL!" Shouted Discord

Celestia looked over to see Hammer sitting across the room with a stack of Wooden plates and Bowls beside him. She was once again stunned as Hammer picked up a bowl and hurled it into the air. Discord aimed for a split second, Pulled the dragons tail and let loose a steady stream of flames that incinerated the bowl.

"TEN POINTS" Shouted Luna with a laugh

Celestia was somehow not surprised to hear her sisters voice. Less then twenty minutes they had been back and Discord and Luna had already burned the entire supply of Dishes.

Celestia stepped fully into the room. Discord, Luna and Hammer turned to face the Princess of the Sun with utter terror on their faces.

Celestia grinned "Are you kidding at best that was eight points, Let a professional show you how its done"

The poor maid was stunned.
