Had some fan-fic ideas I mulled over for a while. Then wrote part of them, but they didn't get a whole lot of attention on DeviantArt. So, I figured I'd try my luck here.

Life isn't as easy as it once was for Rainbow Dash anymore. She suffers from poor eyesight, an achy back, and a host of other ailments that come with old age. But worst of all are the things she can no longer have, the things she can no longer reach. Old friends are gone, and certain places she used to visit are now just as out or reach as her friends. But Rainbow Dash can get what she wants. After all, the sky's the limit.

*Author's Notes*

Some of the people who read "When I Can Fly" mentioned they would like to see a continuation or a sequel.
Well, here it is. I apologize if it's not exactly what you wanted, I know my last story was definitely more upbeat and lively than this one is. But it doesn't make for good or interesting storytelling if a story starts off, continues, and ends with everything being alright, which is what would have been the case had I continued this story right after where the last one had left off. That said, I do hope you enjoyed reading this in spite of it's more melancholy nature.

For those of you who haven't read the story that comes before this one, I would highly recommend that you do. While it's not impossible to understand this story or feel the emotion in it without reading the first story, I can guarantee you that you'll get a lot more enjoyment from this if you take the time to read what comes before this (it's pretty good too, or so people tell me).
If you already read this and are now reading the author notes, then I hope it worked out for you with no prior knowledge of the events that took place before this story. Be sure to let me know in the comments so I can make adjustments if necessary.

Feedback and criticism (no matter how nice, constructive, or mean) is always appreciated.
And as always, no matter what you thought of it, thanks for reading!

I... she... she managed to do a sonic rainboom?
Dude, this stuff is heavy... but still cool!

I have to ask, Wolfy, is it what you thought it'd be?

1110771 It had a "Sad" tag, what else should I have expected? :applejackunsure:
I feel like there are more sad stories then, well, not-as-sad ones. Easier to write or what?

They're often times easier to write, and they can garner just as much attention as a good shipfic (and I'm not gonna lie, attention keeps me writing), but I'm sure my next story will be happier. I'm not sure what it'll be about, but it won't be sad.

Sad fics are so depressing to write.

bravo good sir, very touching :fluttercry:

I approve.

I AM CRYING! WHY ARE YOU SO GOOD AT MAKING ME CRY :fluttercry:
ITS SO AWESOME AND TOUCHING! I LOVED IT!

I should probably break my habit of replying to ridiculously ancient comments, but...though I haven't written much (and I haven't posted anything on this site 'cause none of it's MLP yet), I actually do find sad stories easier to write. Maybe because it's a powerful emotion that doesn't make me feel like going and doing something else? Idk why...

"Ridiculously ancient" is a bit of an understatement here. That comment is so old I've started and finished college since then.
I do know what you mean, though. Writing a happy story is difficult because more often than not it feels like nothing is really happening there. Adding a sad or dramatic theme instantly creates some kind of conflict in the story, instantly making it more engaging for the reader.

That is an impressive time period...That must feel weird, to get a reply to a comment that you probably don't even remember making.
Yeah, you're right!

Oof. The words “be careful what you wish for” spring to mind. Well, it’s an epilogue all right, and your writing is still excellent. My heart… Shitty thing to do to Applejack.
