It has been a long time since Twilight Sparkle has written to the Princess. She has been living her life, with what was thought to be a complete knowledge of friendship. When Princess Celestia receives this letter from her student, it comes with a disheartening message.

>>1108473 In the story when it said "all those years ago" I was originally going to put an actual number of years, so they would be pretty old. But seeing as how I have no real clue how long they live, I had trouble pinning down a good number. So to answer your question and stop my rambling, they were all getting old (kind like Granny Smith old, somewhere near there) and dying of natural causes.
Loved this a great deal, I just hope I don't get this morbid in my old age.
P.s.
Not sure if you intended it but 6ish paragraphs down you don't got a period on the last sentence.
The tone is perfect, but what sells the story is that unfinished signature: we know Twilight would never deliberately leave anything unfinished, so we know that the letter is literally the last thing she did.
I'm already, by some standards, in my old age; what might seem to be "morbid" is merely an adjustment technique, getting used to the idea that yes, your days are numbered, and there are fewer of them left than there used to be. It doesn't get you down, unless you let it.
My heart tweaked a tad.
One thing though, I'm not trying to be obtuse but you have Angle.
It's Angel or Angel Bunny for the more acute readers.
Keep writing.
