Princess Luna must go on a diplomatic mission to the isolated city of Marem, and is tasked with choosing a suitable traveling partner to accompany her on the way. She does not choose the talented and magically-inclined Twilight Sparkle, nor the quick and loyal Rainbow Dash, nor even the strong and talented Applejack. Instead, she surprises everypony by taking Pinkie Pie with her and leaving without a word. Not even Celestia can guess the reasoning behind her sister's choice.
For whatever reason, Princess Luna and Pinkie Pie set off to find and negotiate an agreement with the mysterious community of unicorns located beyond the borders of Equestria. What they find there will impact not only Equestria's stance on foreign policy, but the very lives of the two ponies at the center of it all.
That was short, but definitely good. Keep it up.
Not bad, I'd really like to see where this goes. It was well written and I really liked the set up for the story; it reminded me a little of my favorite point and click game: Syberia II. I'm looking forward to see what tales adventures unfold for Luna and Pinky.

Oh, there will be madness. I was actually considering adding a [Dark] tag for just that reason, but ended up deciding against it. This is going to be more like "Party of One" or "Lesson Zero" than "Cupcakes," as far as the insanity level goes. I was considering adding a [Comedy] tag, too, but I suppose that and [Dark] sort of cancel each other out.

I'm really digging this story. The pacing is quite good, letting things unfold slowly but not too slowly. And while I hadn't ever really thought of how Luna and Pinkie's interactions would work (besides being humorous, 'cause Pinkie), they just make so much SENSE in this story thus far. They're both damaged, in some similar ways, and I'm really excited to read where their adventures take them.
Props to Donny for letting me in on this one. I'm excited to see where this goes and whether Pinkie dug this whole or something else....

Glad to see this update! I thought this pairing was a good concept and this chapter shows some of the reason why. Honest appreciation, simplifying away all the complicated claptrap that Luna has overburdened herself with. Ought to do her good.

I think my favorite part of the chapter was the moment where Pinkie's appreciating Luna's starry night sky. That's a lovely moment--Pinkie is so open, and Luna seems so fragile, so grateful. Then Luna drops her defenses a bit to share the story about creating the moon and, a bit later, even feels protective towards Pinkie. That was a great, great scene.
My single favorite line from this chapter, though, was probably: "Pinkie's smile disappeared; angry Luna didn't faze her in the slightest, but fearful Luna tied her stomach in knots." There's some fantastic insight into both Pinkie and Luna, as well as their relationship to one another, expressed in just a single sentence.

Trixie and Luna always make for an appealing combination. No other pair of herbivores contains so much ham. Also, watching Her Lunar Highness try to puzzle out the combination of whimsy and wisdom that is Pinkie Pie is always entertaining. I look forward to the shenanigans bound to ensue from the six or more minds among these four ponies.
Hmm. Well, the title suggests that the duality of Luna's and Pinkie's mental states (Nightmare Moon and Pinkamena) will come into play, which isn't exactly something that I've read before. I'll keep an eye on this....

Agoraphobia is a bit confusing because it has a lot of definitions, but they usually coincide in someone who is agoraphobic. Generally, it is a fear of situations that are difficult to escape from, which is why the fear of wide open spaces is one of the more common incarnations. Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. I see Luna as being the type who fears both crowds and wide/empty spaces, because of her time on the moon. (Though in this story, she was agoraphobic already; it was just magnified by those thousand years of being alone in a large, empty landscape.)
Also, I'd say the next chapter should be out... sometime next week. Thursday, maybe?

More apologies for the wait! But Bot4oU has updated again, and this chapter is... well, it's basically exposition, honestly, but there's some plot and character development in there, too! I had a hell of a time figuring out how to reveal Marem's true nature to the reader without being too vague and/or info-dumpy, and... well, I'm not entirely satisfied with how it turned out, but I think it's... decent?
