BlueDWarrior

T

Loosely based upon the Mankind Triumphant short from TCB: Brave New Universe. Set 500 years after the events of the story. A group of Reclaimers set out on a nominally standard recovery mission. Go to an old abandoned laboratory, pick up some data and possibly some equipment, hand it off to the client, and go on about your lives.

Things rarely go as planned, as a discovery within said laboratory has the potential to turn the world upside-down and inside-out.

I'm torn between the utterly droll awful silliness of the infernal bureaucracy and the painfully sad fate of Celestia. I'm intrigued.

I know. I tried to imagine how much of a administrative mess a organization entrusted to keeping sentient races and souls throughout the whole of the Multiverse moving to and fro properly. And who knows what machinations one could wreak while sitting in the blind spots of said administration.

Ah, I dislike humanizations of ponies. It rarely goes well. Interesting take on it though.

I've read these 3 chapters, but I'm confused. First, are the Mane 6 and Luna dead? Or stuck in some dimensional plane? Also, is this set in the same universe as the previous fic? And also, how in the world did the Humans capture Celestia, or better, how did they gain access to Powedered Discord? Also, what is with the inter-dimensional bureacracys? From what I remember, they werent they in the previous story.

*ahem* it is simply a derivative tale building off the Mankind Triumphant short in Chatoyance's Brave New Universe

It, like Relic and Shattered Worlds, is not meant to be a pure sequel; because it's extremely difficult to write a pure sequel of someone else's work.

Anyway, to answer some of your points while not hopefully spoiling the story:
1) Yes, every creature in Equestria when the hypernuclear device was detonated is dead. Although, because of the nature of their deaths, they were placed in a purgatory until they can contact the still living Celestia to figure out how to rebuild Equus (which is what I am naming the world Equestria sits in)
2) As stated before, this is a derivation that will attempt, as best I can, to continue the general theme and tenor, although I reserve right to tweak things minorly
3) That is actually a good chunk of the plot of Mankind Triumphant, let's say it was a lot of clandestine operation. But effectively they took the statue, ground it down, laced into all kinds of material, and intentionally caught Celestia halfway outside the Barrier.
4) No, the Inter-Dimensional Spirit Bureaucracy is something of my own creation that distinguishes this work as a derivation and not a true sequel.

Interesting so far, but just a technical note: doing things this way you've essentially described the girls twice. I suggest you just expand the first set of descriptions via dialogue of the gents, ( show, don't tell) and drop the "file descriptions" at the end.

I also think that given the incredible lengths to which Gramps made preparations, the the girls would very likely have been better briefed and have a plan of action ready on reanimation.

But these are nit-picks. I am enjoying the fic so far!
