The Gilded Sword is something of an optional weapon (unlike, for instance, the Master Sword), so whether it's before or after Majora's Mask can remain arguable. I'll admit that for me, it's set before Majora's Mask (hence why it has the same opening, slightly modified).

i mention this because ou could end the legend in a rhyme by invovlineg the master sword turning him into a man... Just a thought though

Sorry about that, the opening is actually really, really similar to the ending, and I assumed this to be set after it. I'm a partial stickler for Zelda canon, and it's confirmed the Hero's Shade is Post-MM Link and that he had the Gilded Sword.

I love the direction you're taking this story, but at times things seem really confusing. Did Gannondorf enter the Twilight realm or not?

This was the Gerudo Desert, after all; how the Royal Family had succeeded in negotiating with the tribe of thieves the execution of their only male in so long at such a location was a surprising fact that betrayed just how great the change that was starting to take over Hyrule was.

Not sure what you were doing, but it feels like there's a typo/grammar error in there somewhere. Either that or the sentence is way too long.

Regarding Ganondorf, I was going to explain that later on, but i'll just give the short version. I'm just assuming that the figures on the mirror define what the destination is; so the runes in TP are like coordinates for the Twilight Realm, while the new ones are for Equestria. So no, he didn't enter the Twilight Realm. He just used the same mirror to go elsewhere.

About His Majesty, I did mean the King as opposed to Zelda. TP doesn't seem to set a specific date for the execution sequence, so I'm just assuming it takes place directly after Link leaves (or in this case, while he's leaving). So Zelda is still a child, and the decision rests on the king.

I actually argued with myself on that matter for some time, and the best excuse I found was to meet everyone halfway. So basically, Link does talk, but the ponies don't understand him, so he's technically silent in those cases (do note that I try to keep his dialogue to a minimum in that sense). Whenever he does talk, it's with Olivia, so it doubles as being his thoughts. Using a silent character isn't very easy, sorry

In the games, it's heavily implied Link does talk. The creators just want you to fill in the dialogue with your own. Same goes for Pokemon.

As a note, is this an amalgamation of the Links from Link to the Past Link and the OoT/Majora's Mask Link? Because he makes reference to the swordsmen from ALttP. Or am I forgetting a detail from OoT?

In regards to the swordsmen, it's a little detail I took from the manga of Majora's Mask, where Link is sent to a training ground before the start of the story. The manga actually explains some of the stuff that led to Majora's Mask, so I thought I'd use some of those details. :3

So, now that I'm caught up.

We have: Child Timeline Link(Hero's Shade), Child Timeline Ganondorf(Likely right after OoT, or several hundred years down the line. Wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey.), who has escaped execution and incapacitated the Water Sage. By help from Nightmare Moon, the two take over Equestria and release Discord. Considering Discord's habit of being untrustworthy, he may or may not be a reliable ally to Ganondorf and NMM.

Zelda is who knows where, and will likely play a big role later.

Pinkie seems to be familiar with the Timeshift Stones(Which will likely come in handy.), and has Gossip Stones stored all over Equestria, in case of plot device emergency.

Equestria has it's own City in the Sky/Skyloft, judging by the existence of a Sky Book.

Also, some morbid thoughts now.

If Stalponies are their version of the adult Stalfos, are Stalfoals their Stalchildren?(Oh I am so full of pun.) Does this mean that the skeletal horses that Stalfos occasionally use are now skeletal riders?

Are the ruins of the Palace of the Two Sisters in the Everfree the Equestrian version of the Temple of Time?

Will Link encounter transformation masks not unlike those he will find when he visits Termina in the future?

ReDeads...... Ah.. being 7 years old again and terrified. I mean people were making games about zombies already, but then ReDeads. Zombie equivalent, Can only be hurt by sword, And can paralyze you with their stare. Ah the terror. Was kind of hoping for that line EVERYONE knows (It's dangerous to go alone! Here take this.) Quick Q: Since Link does indeed talk at times in this story, I was wondering...... Are you in a way putting yourself in his spot? (Gamer Nerding In Progress) Because the reason Link was always silent in LoZ games is due to the connection that the player (or in this case the author) is Link (Ergo the naming and also the choice of different sayings in Skyward Sword)

tl;dr Redeads scare me. Wondering if author is putting self in Link's shoes. And This is a great story.

Regarding your question, I'm avoiding self-insertion at all times, if that's what you meant; instead, I want to try and portray him according to his actions in Ocarina of Time and some what I read of the manga (not too much to not make him unrecognizable, the two Links are very different).

I understand the use of your idea with Link communicating indirectly being for the sake of consistency with how he's presented in the games, but at the same time, it feels like something that can only remain excusable for so long considering the ratio between Link's actions/pov and that of Twilight's. I ain't saying he needs to be directly communicating with them anytime soon-or even at all-but thus far, Link's coming off as something more akin to mere collateral damage with screen time than a particularly pivotal or significant element/character of the story. That much of course has less to do with Link communicating in a conceivably direct manner with the likes of Twilight or the others, and more to do with just improving how he generally interacts with the happenings of the plot and characters in a more direct and/or influential manner, because he's just been feeling more and more underutilized to me in terms of how you could be otherwise handling his role as what seems to be one of the two primary protagonists.

TL;DR, I think Link can afford to be a little more 'there' than 'just there'.

Obviously, that much only extends to as far as the plot's come right now from what I've read; my nitpicks may yet be put to rest depending on how long you plan this fic to be and what ways you intend to develop the plot henceforth, so take my words for what you will, be it a grain of salt or two. I doubt a story this lucid and cohesive is being written up on the spot each chapter, considering the length of the chapters and the generally regular update schedule.

I understand perfectly what you mean, and the points you've brought up are, indeed, valid thus far. I haven't been giving Link a very big amount of attention in these first chapters mainly because I am still introducing certain elements that will be fundamental for the story's development in the future. But yes, so far he is still a bit of, well, 'collateral damage'. This applies in the story too so far; he's the variable neither Twilight nor any of the antagonists expected, and he's the bigger stranger to this world (Ganondorf barely even needs to learn anything, but what he does, he can get it from The spirit of Nightmare Moon).

He will, however, get bigger roles as it develops. isn't that how it works in the games, too?

Just finished reading (and enjoying) the story. My only question is what happened to all of Links stuff? I mean, Ganondorf was just asking for a light arrow to the face.
